An art installation called "The Portal" that connected New York City's Flatiron Plaza to a similar site in Dublin, Ireland, through live video has been temporarily shut down. Some videos went viral showing people flashing and holding disturbing images on the livestream screens in both NYC and Dublin. The NYC installation had on-site security and barriers, but inappropriate behavior still occurred from a small number of visitors. It is expected to be turned back on by the end of the week.
