00:16spinoff. If you're not caught up or haven't watched The Big Bang Theory, this is your

00:21spoiler warning. Do you think I'm not all in, but I am.

00:2710. Sheldon Heads to Caltech

00:32In Season 7, multiple universities start competing for Sheldon to complete his post-grad education

00:38with them. Eventually, he narrows it down to Caltech and MIT, a decision that undoubtedly

00:44shocked countless Big Bang fans. Perhaps I don't give your MIT education enough credit.

00:50However, as soon as he sets foot in Massachusetts for a tour,

00:53it becomes clear that sunny California is the right choice.

00:57Caltech? Caltech!

01:01And so, as we know from The Big Bang Theory, that's where we find him. So with Sheldon

01:07far from the rest of his family, it's easier to transition the focus onto other members.

01:12If you're worried about being far away, they're all offering to pay for travel expenses so you

01:17can come home for the holidays. But to be clear, you don't have to.

01:21We don't need to follow the titular character to Caltech because that's where this story

01:25started anyway.

01:279. Financial Troubles

01:30Since the early days of Young Sheldon, Georgie has shown his knack for business. However,

01:35his entrepreneurial skills truly shine when he partners up with Connie for their backdoor casino.

01:40However, in season 7, Connie's decision led her down a risky path, dragging their venture

01:58into troubled waters. Now, with Georgie shouldering family duties and Mandy chasing

02:03her weather girl dreams, money could get a little tight.

02:11But Coopers are not exactly rolling in dough as it is,

02:25so this could lead to some tough times ahead. It could even force the young family to consider

02:30leaving Medford behind for a shot at a new beginning elsewhere.

02:418. Looping Back to the Big Bang Theory

02:45Young Sheldon loves to give the occasional nod to its parent series,

02:49like Georgie's early love for tires hinting at his future empire.

03:05Adult Sheldon also suggests that Georgie and Mandy's relationship

03:09doesn't last. However, we're hoping the spinoff will delve more into what happens

03:13between Sheldon and Georgie. Georgie hints his estrangement with Sheldon may stem from

03:18the burden he bore after their father's death, so perhaps we'll see those fractures form as

03:23the season finale nears. But hey, it's not like Young Sheldon never broke

03:38Big Bang lore, so who's to say the new spinoff can't do the same?

03:51Maybe Georgie will even share tidbits about Sheldon's early days in Pasadena.

03:567. Parenthood

03:58In season six, Georgie and Mandy welcome their daughter Constance,

04:02or Cece. From that moment on, we watch the pair finding their footing as new parents.

04:09Georgie really steps up, despite barely being an adult himself. And for the most part,

04:24he and Mandy share parenting duties equally.

04:27Of course, it helps to have family around because as they say, it takes a village.

04:42Since none of the Coopers are currently slated for the spinoff,

04:45it looks like they're about to fly solo as a couple.

04:49As Cece grows and new challenges emerge, we'll be eagerly watching to see how Georgie and Mandy

04:54tackle them without their families by their side.

05:086. Mary vs. Audrey

05:11That being said, perhaps raising little Cece away from meddling family members

05:15might be the best move for these new parents.

05:18While their fathers get along just fine, the same can't be said for their mothers.

05:32Mary and Audrey didn't exactly get off on the right foot.

05:36However, when their kids get engaged, both become too overbearing, leading the couple

05:52to opt for a simple service down at City Hall and launching a bitter rivalry between matriarchs.

05:59As if that wasn't bad enough, both grandmothers take Cece to get baptized under their respective

06:04faiths without her parents' permission.

06:08Yeah, we can totally see why they might want to break away from their families.

06:215. George's Fate

06:23Young Sheldon's George Sr. has in many ways redeemed the man often described by Sheldon

06:29and his mother in The Big Bang Theory.

06:35However, one part of his story that's still sealed is his fate.

06:40In The Big Bang Theory, Georgie reveals that he became their family's anchor after their

06:45father's passing. He was just 18 years old at the time and juggling fatherhood,

07:02that's a huge weight to bear. We're not yet sure how far after the events of Young Sheldon

07:07this new spinoff will take place. However, it would make sense if Georgie decided to

07:13start afresh elsewhere to focus on his own family unit after picking up the pieces of

07:18his grieving family.

07:334. Setting Up Base

07:36After Mandy loses her apartment, she crashes with Connie. But when a tornado flattens the

07:41house, Mandy takes over Sheldon's room while Connie moves in with Dale.

07:46After a toilet issue arises at the Coopers, Mandy and Georgie reluctantly bunk with Mandy's

08:06folks. Audrey's not exactly warm and fuzzy, so we imagine they'd be happy to find their

08:11own place pretty quickly.

08:155. Who Knows What'll Pull Them From Medford

08:25Maybe Mandy lands a job elsewhere, or Jim offers Georgie a role at a new out-of-town

08:30store branch. They'd probably want to kickstart their lives in their own place while keeping

08:35their folks at arm's length, which is a big factor we're sure.

08:453. Georgie's Career

08:49As mentioned earlier, young Sheldon teased Georgie's affinity for tires early on.

08:55However, that's all but forgotten until Mandy's dad offers him a job at his store in the final

09:00season. As Georgie says himself, he's highly ambitious and puts

09:15his all into everything he does. So we imagine we'll see Georgie thrive in the biz before

09:26putting the wheels in motion to start building his own empire. Will he end up competing with

09:31his father-in-law, or will they become business partners? Only time will tell.

09:36Mandy is also trying to rebuild her career as a weather girl,

09:39and we look forward to hopefully seeing her shine in her field too.

09:452. The Later Season Started Shifting Focus

09:56Despite its title, young Sheldon has always been about more than just Sheldon.

10:09While he was once the primary focus, as the series evolved and we got to know the Coopers

10:14and Meemaw better, that focus began to shift. Sheldon's narratives became secondary,

10:20and his trip to Germany saw him sidelined from the main events.

10:33By season 7, he's basically taken a backseat, and his biggest storyline essentially paves

10:39the way for his exit. Meanwhile, Georgie and Mandy's story takes center stage. It almost

10:45feels as if the show is using this final season to set the stage for the new series.

11:29forward. Right now, the newlyweds are in a great place, which sets the stage nicely for

11:48their spinoff. But let's not forget, their relationship has never been smooth sailing.

11:53Georgie practically had to wear Mandy down to get her to marry him.

12:00So, while the honeymoon phase seems like the perfect starting point for the new series,

12:12we know it won't last. Though young Sheldon has played fast and loose with

12:16Big Bang Theory canon before, pulling that off this time might be a stretch.
