Putin reappoints technocrat prime minister as fifth term kicks off

Russian legislators will approve a new Putin cabinet in a rubber-stamp exercise following an election from which genuine opponents were excluded.

00:32However, the fate of Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu remains uncertain.

00:40One of Shoigu's top associates was arrested last month on bribery charges.

00:46That man's arrest was widely interpreted as an attack on Shoigu and a possible precursor

00:52to his dismissal, despite close personal ties with Putin.
