Rochester MP Kelly Tolhurst says she is "disapointed" and "surprised to hear of Dover MP Natalie Elphicke's defection to the Labour Party after saying she was always critical of the opposition party.

00:00Well, you know, I'm very surprised because Natalie had always been very critical of Labour as a Kent MP.

00:08Ultimately, it's down to her. I'm not too sure what deal she's done about her future.

00:15It's disappointing. Do I agree with her? Absolutely not.

00:20We have been working really hard to tackle the small boat situation.

00:25Interestingly enough, I think, like many people, very surprised, disappointed.

00:31But I think this is more about person than about actually what's happening on the ground.
