Maidstone man says he'd rather stay homeless than give up his dogs

Paul Growns, who is homeless and living out his car in Maidstone, speaks of his struggles trying to find pet-friendly accommodation.

00:00This is where I've been sleeping along this road. I've been in car parks,

00:06lay-bys, country lanes and I have been now for the last two years in Somerville Council.

00:12They don't seem to care. All they keep saying is go private rent and have the dogs re-homed

00:21or put down and unfortunately I can't do that. If I didn't have my dogs I wouldn't be here.

00:30These have been an absolute rock to me.

00:35Obviously my little one here, unfortunately he's seven and he's got cancer.

00:40He's got a big lump under his chest and it was a miracle that I found this other one,

00:48Toby, because he has been an absolute godsend for Max.
