00:00 I'm at City Hall for Super Saturday in the race to become the next Mayor of London.
00:05 Will Sadiq Khan hang on for a historic third term?
00:09 Or will Susan Hall, his Tory rival, deliver one of the biggest shocks in the history of the Greater London Authority?
00:17 We'll have the results here first on the Evening Standard website.
00:21 So what do we know already?
00:22 Well, counting started at 9am on Saturday and by lunchtime in 12 of the 14 constituencies across London, counting was at least 50% complete.
00:35 Do we know when the result will be declared?
00:37 Not yet, but the signs are encouraging it could be early afternoon, probably before Saturday evening with a bit of luck.
00:46 What we also know is that about 2.5 million Londoners took part in Thursday's election.
00:51 That was slightly down on the 2021 election, so we had just over 40% of Londoners who were entitled to vote actually got out and did cast their ballot on Thursday.
01:02 What was also interesting was that in Sadiq Khan's strongholds, turnout was down, but it was up slightly in three of Susan Hall's seven target areas.
01:13 What does it all mean?
01:14 Well, we really just have to wait for the final result because each vote counts and it's only once all the votes across London are counted will we know the name of our next mayor.
