00:26 I mean, you think about these giants and what people have done in this business

00:31 and what they've worked through and how hard they've worked to get where they are.

00:44 You know, it's exciting, inspirational and intimidating.

00:50 But you are one of those powerful women.

00:53 You just, I mean, last week you wrapped season 25 of Law & Order SVU.

00:57 And you said that these stories need to keep being told.

00:59 Why do you feel so passionate about that responsibility?

01:03 Because it keeps happening in the world.

01:06 The response to sex, first of all, that men are still perpetrating these crimes

01:11 and that sexual assault is still an epidemic in our country.

01:14 And the, you know, patriarchal impunity needs to stop and it has to end.

01:22 We have to end this construct that has been going on for thousands of years.

01:29 And we have to change the way we talk about these issues.

01:32 The actual words we use, the grammar that we use to talk about sexual assault.

01:40 And this is the way we do it.

01:42 And this here today in the presence of the power of women who can help enforce those changes.

01:52 And how do you hope changes are made post the Harvey Weinstein conviction being overturned

01:56 because you released a statement of solidarity to the victims?

01:59 I think male and patriarchal impunity has to end.

02:02 It's going to take time.

02:04 It's going to be messy.

02:06 It's going to be unwieldy.

02:10 But it's not impossible.

02:12 And we're in the process of changing.

02:14 Yeah.

02:14 And I can't believe you were actually mistaken for a real police officer at a playground the other day.

02:18 Did your mama bear instincts just kick in?

02:20 Yes. I don't know that I was mistaken for a police officer.

02:23 I just, we were meant to connect at the moment we did.

02:26 And this little angel girl was in need and we connected and I could see that.

02:31 And so I did what any mother on this planet would do.

02:36 But she ran to the perfect person.

02:37 She did.

02:38 Have you stayed in touch with her?

02:39 No, no, no.

02:40 But I got to hug her mom and her and it was beautiful.
