00:12 Here to guide us through some of the Met Gala's

00:16 it's fashion expert, Amanda Garagos.

00:19 - Hi, I'm so excited to be here.

00:22 - I'm great.

00:23 It's Met Gala.

00:24 - Yeah, let's jump into this because the Met Gala

00:25 is known for featuring some of the wild

00:28 and outrageous looks that we've seen.

00:30 Let's kick things off with somebody who's always wild,

00:33 Katy Perry, who was lit back in 2019.

00:36 - Oh yeah, you mean it when you say she was lit.

00:39 Like literally, this was off the charts.

00:42 It was a camp theme and she really went for it.

00:44 This was custom made for her by Jeremy Scott.

00:46 We love him for some camp.

00:48 But yeah, the dress was glittering.

00:50 It was all kinds of, you know, bedazzlement.

00:51 But then there was battery packs in that dress,

00:53 so the chandelier could also light up.

00:56 And it was like kind of heavy too.

00:57 Apparently 40 pounds just the headpiece,

00:59 which was insane.

01:01 But like not only did she bring this on the pink carpet,

01:04 but then for the after party,

01:05 we gotta talk about how she switched it up

01:08 because she went full hamburger.

01:10 - I love this.

01:11 - This was like at an Anna Wintour party

01:12 'cause I kind of love that she's with Anna

01:14 in this hamburger situation.

01:17 But it was extraordinary.

01:18 Again, it was designed for her by Jeremy Scott

01:20 and it had all these Swarovski crystal,

01:21 like sesame seeds on it.

01:23 - Well, let's stick with 2019

01:24 because some good things happened,

01:26 including Cardi B.

01:27 - Yes.

01:28 - I mean, that dress took up the entire staircase.

01:30 - Oh my gosh.

01:31 It was a huge dress.

01:33 And this was a moment.

01:35 This dress was custom made for her by Tom Brown.

01:37 I mean, 10 feet of train,

01:40 like 44 carats of rubies valued

01:43 at nearly a quarter of a million dollars.

01:45 All the feathers, the headpiece.

01:47 She did every single thing and more.

01:50 - Oh yes.

01:51 Well, speaking of doing more,

01:52 you know, there are a couple of people,

01:54 celebrities that are synonymous with the Met Gala.

01:57 And Sarah Jessica Parker is certainly one of those celebs.

02:00 - Yeah, I love SJP.

02:02 She always brings it.

02:03 So here she's at the Heavenly Bodies Gala.

02:05 This dress was made for her by Dolce and Gabbana.

02:07 And it's so stunning,

02:09 but really the central focus here is the headpiece.

02:13 and you'll see it's a full nativity scene in there.

02:17 - Wow.

02:17 You know, I love it when the stars bring it.

02:20 - That's a lot of detail.

02:21 - That is a lot of detail.

02:22 - But yeah, Dolce and Gabbana,

02:22 they are Catholic themselves.

02:24 Some of their pieces were actually in the exhibit that year.

02:26 And I just, you know, Sarah gets it right.

02:28 - It's crazy.

02:29 Speaking of getting it right.

02:30 Last year, Karl Lagerfeld,

02:32 they did a whole celebration

02:34 and it truly brought out some of the most

02:36 over the top looks.

02:38 - Yes.

02:38 That's an understatement, my friend.

02:40 It really, really did.

02:41 I mean, Karl Lagerfeld, we absolutely love him.

02:44 He's like a hero to me,

02:45 but somehow his cat, Choupette, won the night.

02:48 Here, Doja Cat.

02:50 I know we talked about this before.

02:51 Stunning.

02:52 But there's something a little different about her, right?

02:54 Like the face is there's a prosthetic going on.

02:56 We know this.

02:58 So she went full cat mode

02:59 and then Jared Leto one-upped her in this like full Choupette.

03:04 I mean, it's just like crazy.

03:06 - You know, it is amazing.

03:07 And I love that stars just go there,

03:10 especially when they do their arrivals.

03:13 And sometimes we get full on performances.

03:15 Like in 2019's camp, I mean, Zendaya.

03:19 - Oh, we have to talk about Zendaya.

03:21 Every time I just want to talk about it.

03:22 She always gets it right.

03:24 It's so inspiring.

03:25 And so yes, when she arrived at the camp gala,

03:27 she brought Cinderella.

03:29 Here we're seeing her doing Joan of Arc.

03:31 And I love this look, especially because of the hair.

03:34 And they talked about how the hair, this little wig,

03:36 and it was a wig, guys don't always know it's wigs.

03:38 It was a wig.

03:39 It was like the point of departure.

03:41 But here we see her in this Tommy Hilfiger dress

03:43 at that camp gala.

03:45 It lit up.

03:46 She was there with her fairy godmother who waved a wand.

03:49 And the dress was not like shining like this

03:51 when she arrived.

03:52 But then the magic happened.

04:08 The Brandon Maxwell, she had not one, not two, not three,

04:11 but four looks this night.

04:13 And they were all extraordinary.

04:15 She started big.

04:16 She stripped down to nearly nothing.

04:18 And everyone was just like a knockout.

04:21 - Yeah.

04:22 - Turnip heads.

04:23 Billy Porter turn heads

04:25 when he lived my ultimate Met Gala dream.

04:33 And it was extraordinary.

04:34 He arrived the pharaoh, right?

04:36 Carried in by these six gorgeous men.

04:38 And it was all about that entrance.
