00:03 Because I know sometimes, you know, if the cameras are rolling, it sort of eliminates the fear, at least for me.

00:09 Because I'm thinking, I'm doing my job, the camera's rolling, nothing can happen to me while the cameras are rolling.

00:16 But I mean, in a situation like that, anything can happen. So does the fear ever set in?

00:22 It does, but you're right. When the camera's on you, you feel like you're being swept away by some kind of invincibility.

00:28 And then everything kind of, you get tunnel vision, you're just doing your job.

00:34 So for example, while we're doing the live report, I'm just thinking, I have to get this footage, I have to report at this time,

00:43 I have to compose my spiel so that my relay to the audience is clear, etc.

00:49 It was only when things started to kind of settle down, when I say settle down,

00:54 the communication was cut off, so we couldn't report. And then you think, gosh, if it rains here, it will probably rain in the hotel.

01:02 Where are we going? It's like we're all in a row because when we got off, all our equipment in the car was destroyed, it was wet.

01:11 And then you look around and then you realize, wow, this is really, really bad.

01:16 It's so bad, in fact, that even the team, I'm now worrying about our own safety and survival.

01:22 Because true enough, when we went back to where we were staying, the hotel was devastated.

01:28 So there was nothing on the front desk, people were milling around, and then there was a funny moment.

01:34 I don't usually share this, but you're stronger than me.

01:38 But because of the flood, the packets of food, there were fruits that were floating around in the flood.

01:50 And my team, sometimes, when they saw a floating fruit, they would pick it up.

01:56 I was like a straight shooter, I said, "Don't pick it up, it's not ours. Maybe it belongs to someone."

02:04 Actually, if you think about it, it's so dumb. Who would claim that?

02:10 But after a while, we really looked for a place where we could get food.

02:16 We climbed up a coconut tree, which we didn't have any equipment with, but I was lucky to be with my team.

02:22 The coconut tree was a good climber. We didn't have any bags, so we were pushing it on the side of the road.

02:30 Almost every man for himself in the first few hours.

02:34 So that's where the fear kind of set in.

02:36 I think because of the experience and because of the team, you become clear-headed.

02:44 And then you just decide on what you need to do next.
