The editors of Australia's leading regional newspapers have a message for their social media followers: don't rely on an algorithm to show you real news, support trusted local news.

00:26 appealing to their thousands of Facebook and Instagram followers to back local news,

00:30 as social media giant Meta makes real news harder to find in Aussie feeds.

00:35 Three years after striking deals under our country's News Media Bargaining Code,

00:40 Meta announced it will remove its News tab for all Aussie users and stop paying for local

00:45 Australian news content. Local news media, including ACM, have condemned the move,

00:50 underlining that Meta's decision will likely cost jobs, encourage misinformation and result
