Right then, who have we got here? Dominique, Zachary, Alice and I'm Hayley.
00:09
And you're all taking part in the British North Water this year. Tell us about it, how are you feeling?
00:13
Excited, a bit nervous, it's quite a long way isn't it? But we're really excited and really
00:22
grateful that the school and Booker are supporting JJRF in support of Zachary and Alice.
00:29
Absolutely, just tell us a little bit more about JJRF.
00:32
It's the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation and they work to making lives of people with
00:43
type 1 diabetes better, so improving people's lives and they champion things like getting
00:52
research into making technology which makes our lives easier. So I'm not explaining it very well.
00:58
No you are, no that's good. So you're alright in saying that Zach and Alice are...
01:01
They have type 1 diabetes, yeah.
01:03
And how long have they had type 1?
01:07
I've had it for five years, just over.
01:11
And Alice got diagnosed in December last year, so she turned three in October, so she'd just
01:19
turned three and it was a big shock, it's not something that we're expecting and the same for
01:23
Zachary wasn't it, it was a big shock, it's not something that you expect to happen. But yeah,
01:28
we've been very lucky that we've had a lot of support, a lot of support from school, a lot of
01:33
support from lots of friends and family and things as well, so we're lucky that we've got these guys
01:37
helping us out as well. And you've been fantastic haven't you? You've been really brave haven't you?
01:44
And Alice has just recently had a pump fitted, so that's made things a lot easier hasn't it?
01:52
Yeah and yeah, we're just going along with it.
01:56
Now have you done much training for the walk?
01:58
Err, no.
02:00
Do you know how many are taking part from here at Castlefields?
02:05
It's about 60 I think isn't it? 60 of the team, yeah quite a few.
02:10
Well you've certainly looked the part, so I'll look out for you on the Monday then.
02:15
Thank you so much.
02:15
Are you going to walk Alice?
02:17
Yeah.
02:19
Good girl.
02:20
So Tim and Carrie from Bookers, obviously you only recently joined Bridge North about six
02:24
months ago, how have you settled in?
02:26
Really well actually, I mean it's really nice to be sort of marking that with this type of
02:33
community event.
02:34
Absolutely, obviously you are sponsoring the school with their t-shirts for the walk this year,
02:38
that's quite a big achievement, there's a lot of t-shirts there I've seen.
02:41
Yeah we're really pleased with how they've turned out and it's just nice to be asked to support
02:48
both the school and such a good cause as well, so wishing everybody who's walking on Monday
02:53
the very best of luck and hopefully we can join you next year.
