Chevy Malibu High Speed Pursuit - April 25, 2024

On the night of April 25th, 2024, a sheriff's deputy in Franklin Parish, Louisiana attempted to stop a Chevrolet Malibu for an unspecified reason, but the driver did not stop. The driver turned into a residential neighborhood and led the deputy on a pursuit at speeds of 75 MPH in the residential area with posted limits of 15 MPH. At one point the driver nearly caused a head-on collision with another motorist. The driver bailed out at the end of a dead-end street and ran into the woods, reportedly armed with a handgun. (It was later determined that he dropped the gun after losing sight of the deputies). The suspect was captured without further incident, after a resident (who may or may not have heard the radio traffic) called in to the SO with information that he was in their yard. Thankfully this incident was resolved without anyone being injured or worse.
