00:00We haven't seen the Chiefs dominate a game like they did, you know, this, they didn't dominate
00:03it offensively because the Broncos had better numbers, which it was just weird on offensively,
00:09they didn't need Patrick Mahomes. And this team has really evolved from needing Patrick Mahomes
00:14to do everything to now Patrick Mahomes can only complete 15 passes for 200 yards and score one
00:20touchdown, which came in the third quarter, which essentially at that point was pretty much garbage
00:26because the Chiefs were scoring on every facet of the game. It was, it was a Chiefs win that we
00:32haven't seen in any sorts in a long time. And I want to talk about the defense. Let's start there.
00:37Let's start with the defense. Tyron Matthew, the leader of that defense, he gets an interception,
00:42I guess a fumble recovery too. I guess he's credited with a fumble recovery on that. I didn't
00:47look at the official stats, but Trishon Horton popped it out, recovered it. Then Trishon Horton
00:52fumbled it and then Tyron Matthew recovered it, laid out and did a little snow angel.
00:56Love to see that. So what did you think overall of this defensive performance? They played bad
01:02against the Raiders, but really against the Bills and against the Broncos, they've played phenomenal.
01:09Yeah, for sure. And the three stars I have Charverius Ward, nine tackles in his sack,
01:15really laid the wood on Drew Locke. I mean, he kind of laid them out and that was kind of a thing,
01:20I guess both quarterbacks took some hits in that game, but the chiefs really did a good job
01:25not bringing a ton of blitzes, but still getting pressure on him. Matthew five tackles and
01:31interception. And then I guess the fumble recovery, that was just a really weird play to look at.
01:38And then a guy that catches a lot of flack from people, but had nine tackles and a pick six,
01:44it was a Daniel Sorenson game. And that's something you never really see from him is
01:49um, we see like these random plays, like he had the interception against the bills. That was like
01:54a one-handed leaping thing. Just stuff you don't think is going to happen at the heads of Daniel
01:59Sorenson. He's jumping routes and getting pick sixes. So really at all levels of the defense,
02:05a really good performance overall. Yeah. And Tyler Matthew thought so too,
02:10in his postgame press conference, he was talking about last year, he kind of adopted this mantra,
02:15this chiefs defensive, this championship swagger. He's talking about how every single team has a
02:21different version of that. Even the same organization, the chiefs organization this
02:26year, they have a different version of championship swagger than what last year's team did. So here's
02:30what he had to say about the performance. You know, this is a, this is a new season
02:34and I think you have to, you know, build your way to, you know, championship talk and
02:39championship swagger. So, um, you know, I think these last two games that we've been able to put
02:44together, I do feel us tapping back into, to that mantra, to, to that attitude, to that standard. So,
02:50um, like I said, we still got a long season ahead of us, got some big games coming up.
02:54Um, and it's going to really prove who we are, you know, as a defense. So I'm just looking forward
02:59to stepping up, coming to work, you know, each and every day, you know, with that energy, that
03:03attitude, you know, just, just, just wanting to have fun, you know, and wanting to play hard for
03:07the guy next to you. So Jordan, what did you think about what, what Tyron had to say right there?
03:12I mean, there are different ways to win and maintaining that championship swagger amidst like
03:17a loss to the Oakland Raiders where the defense didn't have its a game or experiencing injuries
03:23or stuff like that. And really a COVID filled 2020 NFL season. I mean, there's just so much
03:29going on that knowing that most of your unit from last year is back and kind of weathering
03:34the storm and trying to get, um, the chiefs call it 1% better every day. I mean, eventually you
03:40would hopefully get to a hundred, but they keep just chasing that. And I think it's a wonderful
03:45thing. The team's locked in. And, um, I believe during the week, someone mentioned that Steve
03:50Spagnuolo brought up the word like complacency or something like that, and was trying to tell them
03:55you can't get complacent with where you're at. There's always areas to improve. And now
03:59they're stringing together some pretty good performances overall. And that swagger looks
04:03to be back.
