Georges Alexandre Krins était un violoniste belge qui a tragiquement perdu la vie dans la catastrophe du Titanic. Né le 18 mars 1889 à Paris, il étudie au Conservatoire royal de musique de Liège, en Belgique, de 1902 à 1908.
En 1910, il devient premier violon au Trianon Lyrique à Paris. Plus tard, il se rend à Londres et se produit pendant deux ans à l'hôtel Ritz. En mars 1912, il est recruté par CW & FN Black à Liverpool pour jouer sur le Titanic en tant que chef d'orchestre du Trio String Orchestra près du Café Français. Son adresse à Londres était le 10 Villa Road, Brixton. Malheureusement, Krins a péri dans la catastrophe, et si son corps a été retrouvé, il n'a jamais été identifié.
En 2002, des passionnés belges du Titanic ont commémoré Krins en dévoilant une plaque commémorative à Spa, en Belgique, où il avait commencé sa carrière musicale. La plaque est située sur la façade de l'hôtel Cardinal. Son histoire est un rappel poignant des musiciens courageux qui ont continué à jouer pendant que le Titanic coulait, apportant du réconfort aux passagers dans leurs derniers instants.

Born on March 18, 1889, in Paris, he studied at the Conservatoire Royal de Musique in Liège, Belgium, from 1902 to 1908. Initially interested in pursuing a military career, he eventually returned to civilian life at the urging of his parents. Krins worked in his father’s shop and played in La Grande Symphonie in Spa.
In 1910, he became the first violinist at Le Trianon Lyrique in Paris. Later, he traveled to London and performed for two years at the Ritz Hotel. In March 1912, he was recruited by CW & FN Black in Liverpool to play on the Titanic as the bandmaster of the Trio String Orchestra near the Café Français. His London address was 10 Villa Road, Brixton. Unfortunately, Krins perished in the disaster, and if his body was recovered, it was never identified.
In 2002, Belgian Titanic enthusiasts commemorated Krins by unveiling a memorial plaque in Spa, Belgium, where he had begun his musical career. The plaque is located on the frontage of the Hotel Cardinal. His story serves as a poignant reminder of the brave musicians who continued playing as the Titanic sank, providing solace to passengers in their final moments.
