Little Q is a 2019 Chinese-Hong Kong touchy love-bond relationship a dog and his owner. The film is directed by Vincent Law Wing Cheung (羅永昌), based on TRUE STORY. Top billed main cast is Simon Yam Tat-wah (任達華 as Li Bao Ting. The support cast are Gigi Leung Wing-kei (梁詠琪), Him Law Chung-him (羅子溢), Charlie Yeung Choi-nei (杨采妮), Mabel Yuan Shan-shan (袁姗姗), Liu Chu-tian (刘楚恬), Angela Yuen Li-lin (袁澧林), Frankie Lam Man-lung (林文龍), Roger Kwok Chun-on (郭晉安), Tony Liu Wing (劉永), Allie Chan Ya-li (陈雅丽) and Hu Ming (胡明).
The film is adapted from the photobook "The Life of Quill, the Seeing-Eye Dog" (盲導犬クイールの一生) by Akimoto Ryohei (秋元良平) and Ishiguro Kengo (石黒謙吾).
Little Q, a yellow lab with a curious birthmark, is training to become a guide dog for the blind. When his training is complete, Little Q is sent to help Lee Bo Ting (Simon), a renowned pastry chef who’s losing his sight. Irritable and bitter, Bo Ting is constantly losing his temper at those around him and rejecting Little Q, and even tries to drive him away several times. Eventually, dog and owner bond as Little Q wins Bo-ting over with its unwavering loyalty. Little Q teaches Bo Ting how to trust again, opening him up to a new life of wonderful possibilities. However, as Little Q gets older and Bo-ting’s health suffers, the two of them face an unwilling separation ......
