Spanish hospital enlists therapy dogs to boost ICU patients' morale

A trial launched by the Hospital del Mar in #Barcelona and the Affinity Foundation, which specializes in #pet therapy to improve the #emotional well-being of ICU patients, is set to be a hit.
Patients in the program receive two #dog visits each week of 15 to 20 minutes each.
"For now it's a perception, we think that it does benefit them (patients) and that's why we are doing research," said Lucia Picazo, an ICU doctor.
