00:00 In the Philippines, one of the famous trail runners is the fitness coach and race director, Sienna Swift.
00:07 I'm excited because they are the featured athletes here in Amazing Earth.
00:26 Have you tried extreme sports? The one that is hard and sometimes, it's even a life-threatening one.
00:30 Every summer, there are a lot of outdoor activities that can be done.
00:36 And now, the trend is trail running.
00:39 In the Philippines, one of the famous trail runners is the fitness coach and race director, Sienna Swift.
00:46 What is the difference between trail running and running in general or road running?
00:54 In road running, it's concrete, asphalt, and in street, unlike trail running, it's soft, the surface is different.
01:02 There's muddy, soil, it can also be rocky.
01:06 Because when we're on the road, there's pollution, noise, and when you go outside the city, you can see the beauty of nature,
01:15 the smell of nature, it can relieve stress, and it's like a therapy for me.
01:23 So in terms of physical benefit, do you think that road running and trail running are the same?
01:30 Or can you say that trail running is harder?
01:32 Trail running is harder.
01:34 When we're on the trail running, we're using the parts of our muscles that we don't use on the road.
01:42 What other projects do you do for Mother Nature?
01:45 I have a group, Swift and Fit. I'm the founder of the group.
01:51 I train them for running. We have a tagline, "Beyond Running."
01:54 We do outreach programs and pre-planting.
01:59 As an advocate of health and wellness for women, Coach Sienna is also working on another project,
02:06 which is International Women's Month.
02:08 Tell us about the Binibining Marathoner. What is it?
02:13 It's an all-women race.
02:16 The unique thing about this race is that not only do the winners get medals, but they also get a crown.
02:22 We have a tagline, "Every woman deserves a crown."
02:27 Not all women get a crown on the beauty pageant, but this time, they get it through running.
02:32 How do you relate to women empowerment?
02:34 We help them, encourage, support them, and inspire as well.
02:40 Women are strong, confident, but sometimes, they lose that confidence and it's boosted through other women.
02:50 I salute you for what you're doing.
02:52 Coach Swift, thank you for what you're doing for the environment and women here in Amazing Earth.
02:59 You're an Amazing Earth hero.
03:01 Thank you, Coach.
