1952ರಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ದೇಶದ ಮೊದಲ ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಚುನಾವಣೆಗೆ ಸುಮಾರು 10.45 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಖರ್ಚಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದ್ರೆ 2004ರ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಿಂದ ಸಾವಿರ ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ.ಗಳ ಗಡಿ ದಾಟಿದೆ. ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಚುನಾವಣೆಗೆ ಒಟ್ಟು 7,000 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಖರ್ಚಾಗಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅಂದಾಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
