00:00 Shout out to Venus. She's somewhere here on the carpet too. We saw her Venus Williams. Yeah
00:03 She's in the building ladies and gentlemen Zendaya
00:08 First of all, how does it feel to have such an incredible reception right now?
00:16 You've been getting this all over the world at this point for this film girl. I feel incredibly honored and lucky
00:21 It's so sweet to see all of you here. So thank you so much for taking the time to be here
00:26 I've been seeing so much of you tell me that you grew up with me and then seeing pictures of you as
00:31 Little ones and I just want to say thank you for being on this journey with me
00:35 I really really appreciate you being here and they are so excited. It's been hours of them isn't a hair isn't a hair
00:41 I feel like I can just feel her presence
00:43 Tashi Duncan is such a beautiful
00:46 Complicated incredible woman. I'm curious to know what drew you to her originally and what ways if any you kind of see a bit
00:54 Of yourself in her. Oh, man. Oh, she approaches life a little bit differently than I do
00:59 But she no
01:00 I think what stood out to me is just that she was incredibly
01:02 complicated and complex and there was nothing one-dimensional about her and I think it was it felt like a
01:08 big challenge, you know, and how do I make sure that she's still human and fragile and
01:15 And we find her gooey Center if you will
01:20 And I and I just wanted to also take on the challenge of of tennis, too
01:24 I think it's such an incredible sport and the idea of like her being the best at it. I was like, oh man
01:29 Okay, I'm really in for something here. So
01:31 Also just the amazing people that I get to work with as well
01:35 The boys are so talented and so wonderful in the film and Luca as well. So
01:39 yeah, I mean the script was brilliant Justin is brilliant and
01:44 It was a no-brainer for me this love triangle is as intense as the tennis matches are
01:51 Working with Josh and Mike. What was the highlight for you? Um, just that they're wonderful wonderful people
01:57 They're just really wonderful people and it made it such a they made it such a wonderful place to go to work every day
02:03 I think we all care deeply about what we do
02:06 but sometimes it's important to laugh and like have joy and
02:11 And make fun and like have jokes and make sure that the work just doesn't feel too serious all the time
02:18 Who was the class clown? I think it was all three of us to be honest
02:21 It's just a based on any given moment to be true to be truthful
02:25 But we just had a lot of fun and and and I think when you create a space we feel safe and feel supported
02:31 By each other then you feel like you can do your best work
02:33 So and you mentioned being interested in the physicality and the actual tennis of it all talk to me about the training
02:40 What was it like because you all pulled off those tennis scenes so beautifully it was giving elite
02:45 Well, we have a great director. All right, shout out to Luca. Absolutely
02:49 No, I would say, you know, it's it's a combination of many things. I think we have we had great kind of like a tennis team
02:56 around us
02:58 Starting with Brad Gilbert and and and Eric. I don't know if Eric's here. But oh, there's Brad. Hey, hi Brad
03:06 But yeah, we just had a great team and support system around us we had incredible
03:10 Our tennis doubles who are obviously really good at it
03:15 And it was just about I think kind of getting in sync with them and for me
03:20 I tried to like approach it from a dance background because I'm never gonna be Serena
03:24 Okay, so I might as well give that dream up now
03:27 Just give it to gab shout out to Venus. She's somewhere here on the carpet - we saw her Venus Williams. Yeah
03:34 She's in the building. I'm out to find her
03:36 No, she's I mean she's amazing. Um, but you know, I knew I wasn't gonna be them, right?
03:42 So I realized that I had to approach it from a place physically that I understood and for me that was dance
03:48 So I tried to approach it from like, okay, I'm learning choreography. And how do I learn this this footwork or this physicality?
03:54 And I really enjoyed myself and a producer also. What was that? Like working behind the scenes also, which is so impressive
04:03 I think it's just a it's a way to be more creative and and to learn
04:07 I think from someone like Luca and and be able to be in a space where you can support your fellow actors and and hopefully
04:14 get the best work possible out of the out of the material when you kind of have like a
04:19 Real role or a seat at the table and I know we got to let you go
04:24 But just quickly you've been serving up court couture all season
04:28 Okay, this press run we've got Law Roach over here serving just as much just really quickly
04:34 What was the inspiration for tonight's like how much fun have you had with that my not-so-secret weapon over here?
04:39 No, we just we really enjoy I think we've played with theme dressing for many many years now
04:45 And I think it's just it's fun. I think when you have
04:47 Material with like rich references already. Why not pull from it and an explore an experiment through clothes
04:55 And so that's what we try to do. And sometimes the references are subtle. Sometimes they're sometimes pick people pick it up later
05:03 Sometimes it's very literal, but we have fun. Well, you are having fun. I hope you have the best time tonight
05:09 Congratulations on the film you were brilliant in it Zendaya everyone
