01:12 So I think today I am about 13 weeks and three days.

01:19 So just about into the second trimester.

01:23 It's been-- it's been weird, but also really, like, wonderful.

01:28 It's just been, like, kind of quietly just growing up fun.

01:35 Chris, how are you feeling?

01:36 You know, for a while there, I thought I was almost done.

01:39 And then-- then we decided to start over.

01:42 She had the cutoff date.

01:43 I had about four years left on the time clock.

01:45 Well, you gave me the cutoff date.

01:47 Yeah, I did. I did.

01:48 Yeah, so I knew I had to, like, bleep or get off the pot,

01:51 as they say.

01:52 And here we are bleeping.

01:54 Can you share some of this journey

01:58 to parenthood on "The Real Housewives of Potomac"?

02:01 Can you fill me in on which kind of route

02:04 did we take to get here?

02:06 So we froze our embryos, what, two--

02:09 Two over two years ago.

02:10 Two years ago, just about.

02:12 And, you know, I think we were both kind of content to have

02:15 them just sit there, you know, until my cutoff date.

02:19 I think I had seven years when you first told me

02:21 that I had to do--

02:23 Yeah.

02:24 --do it by the time he was 50.

02:25 OK.

02:26 So I was-- I was kind of content.

02:29 But then I just got the itch.

02:32 When I knew, it was like--

02:35 like, you-- it was undeniable.

02:37 Yeah, it was pretty-- you were like, hey,

02:39 make sure you're not working this day because I'm going

02:41 to get my egg implanted.

02:42 I'm sorry, what?

02:43 I worked--

02:44 Just like that.

02:45 It was-- it was almost like I kind of woke up

02:49 and realized that I was never going to be 100% ready.

02:54 And I just had to trust the process.

02:58 So we did our implantation in January.

03:02 And for about two weeks, you don't

03:06 know if the embryo has implanted in the--

03:10 like, within the lining of the uterus.

03:12 We waited and waited and waited all this time.

03:15 And to finally, like, have it all pay off was--

03:19 was amazing.

03:20 Do we know what we're having, if it's

03:22 going to be a little Candace or a little Chris running around?

03:25 So the doctors know.

03:27 When we did the, you know, the embryos, we had one of each.

03:30 And I was like, listen, let's just

03:31 take the highest graded egg.

03:33 And we'll put it in there.

03:34 And this is the one surprise of this whole pregnancy

03:37 that we don't know yet.

03:37 So no, we don't-- that's why I got pink and blue on today.

03:40 We don't know.

03:41 Is this baby potentially the first of more to come?

03:46 Have you thought that much ahead?

03:48 Are we still in, like-- we've got four years.

03:50 So we got to get another one in that four years.

03:52 We do have another embryo in the freezer.

03:56 I'm just kind of taking it day by day.

04:00 Thankfully, I feel really blessed so far, you know,

04:04 to be just about in my second trimester.

04:07 And I haven't really been super sick.

04:09 I haven't had, like, super crazy pregnancy symptoms.

04:16 So that's helpful in thinking about doing it again.

04:20 But also, it's like, you know, could we just

04:24 find a wonderful surrogate for the second one?

04:27 That's-- that is on the table.

04:28 That's an option that, you know, some women

04:31 have the luxury of entertaining.

04:34 So we'll see.

04:36 I just-- I want-- let me-- let me pop one out and see.

04:47 forward to about motherhood?

04:51 Oh my gosh.

04:56 The decoration and the shopping and the clothes

04:59 and dressing them like her if it's a girl.

05:12 I'm going to cry in whatever they want to do.

05:15 Like, I think-- what were we watching?

05:19 Something about, like, kids playing

05:22 soccer or sports or something.

05:25 And I thought to myself, like, oh my gosh, what if--

05:27 what if my son or my daughter wants to play football?

05:32 It's like, I'm not an outdoor person.

05:34 I'm not a sports person.

05:36 I literally can only tell you when

05:38 there's a touchdown happening.

05:40 But if my kid wanted to play football,

05:41 I would get, like, a big mosquito net

05:43 and be outside, like, you know, cheering and, like, yelling

05:48 and, like, ready to fight the referee.

05:50 So I'm just excited to, like, meet them.

05:53 And it's so cool that you literally have

05:56 no idea what you're getting.

05:59 And then, like--

06:00 What their personality is.

06:03 Although, at our last sonogram, like,

06:07 it's-- signs are pointing to them being

06:09 more like Chris than me, so.

06:12 Chris, what does that mean?

06:13 Chill?

06:16 Laid back.

06:17 Like, we were trying to get them to move for the sonogram.

06:21 And they were, like, being camera shy.

06:23 Because before the camera came out, they were moving around.

06:26 And then we put out the camera, and they're just like, nope.

06:29 I'm going to sit here.

06:30 It's like me.

06:31 Yeah, like, very--

06:33 And then, like, I feel like the baby already has Chris's head.

06:39 So I'm not--

06:40 It's still growing.

06:42 That could change.

06:42 But you can kind of tell.

06:43 I'm--

06:44 It looks like-- yeah.

06:46 But yes, all of-- I'm looking forward to all of everything.

06:49 All the things.

06:50 Chris, is there anything specific

06:51 that you're really excited to get to experience this time

06:54 around doing this with Candace?

06:56 Oh, just excited to experience it with her for her first one.

07:00 That-- you know, so that's something

07:02 that I've got to keep in mind as we go through this process,

07:05 I've done this three times already.

07:06 This is her first time.

07:07 So I've got to make sure, for me, that I stay engaged.

07:11 Because it's going to be super supportive for her.

07:12 She's going to need that all the way through.

07:15 Like she said, just to meet the child.

07:18 And what are their interests going to be?

07:20 Because every child is different.

07:21 Yes.

07:22 Siblings or not.

07:23 And it's a great experience.

07:24 So it's going to be interesting.

07:26 It's going to be a lot of fun.

07:27 And I also feel like I kind of am cheating a little bit.

07:31 Because there is a lot of comfort in knowing that he's

07:35 done this three times with, you know, two boys and a girl.

07:39 So he's seen both sides with male and female.

07:44 There's some institutional knowledge for those diaper

07:46 changes and all that.

07:47 Exactly.

07:48 Right.

07:49 Make sure it's on tight.

07:52 Candace is--

07:53 That's a relief in a lot of ways.

07:54 Is there anything that you're nervous about

07:57 or you have butterflies in your stomach about

07:58 as you get closer to the day the baby will be here?

08:02 Well, I think beyond when the baby comes,

08:06 like when it's time for school, I'm terrified of math homework.

08:10 That's a ways away.

08:12 Like I really--

08:13 like I-- that's going to really take me out.

08:16 Luckily, one of us is really good at math.

08:18 And one of us is not.

08:19 So I guess with the birth, I'm--

08:23 I guess I'm just looking forward to meeting them.

08:26 Like I just-- I always have these dreams.

08:29 I have dreams like every other night of just me

08:33 holding the baby.

08:35 But from here, and all you see is the head.

08:38 I'm looking forward to the community, the mom community.

08:42 It's a space that I've always kind of like been, you know,

08:45 peering into from the outside.

08:47 So it's just going to be fun to be a part of that community

08:51 and, you know, to learn and grow as a member now.

08:56 How much did this news coming into your life

09:00 impact the choice you made to walk away from "Housewives"?

09:06 I would say probably 95%.

09:12 Yeah.

09:14 I-- I was really adamant about creating a space for--

09:22 not just for the baby, but for me, for us,

09:26 for this time in our lives where--

09:30 oh my god, I'm crying again.

09:33 Some of this is pregnancy hormones.

09:34 I was going to say, you can blame this all on hormones.

09:36 You got a free pass for nine months.

09:38 I know.

09:39 Like, you can't judge my triangles coming out anymore.

09:42 No, I-- I wanted the space around us

09:46 and around our child to feel peaceful and to feel free

09:52 and to feel positive and--

09:57 And to be able to just experience it on our own.

09:59 Yes, without, you know, any added pressure,

10:03 good, bad, or indifferent from-- from the show.

10:08 And, you know, I just--

10:10 I-- I was not confident that I could have that in the space

10:16 that the show is in currently.

10:19 So it was kind of--

10:20 it was kind of a no-brainer.

10:22 Like, after we did the implantation, I was like,

10:24 well, you know, maybe we could make it work.

10:28 But, you know, I would--

10:30 I would have nightmares about it not working.

10:33 And you only-- you know, I could maybe only do this once.

10:37 Like, who knows?

10:38 It's-- it's such a--

10:39 a gift and a blessing and, like, a really

10:44 amazing and scary time.

10:48 And I just wanted to experience it, you know,

10:51 free of any unwarranted stuff.

10:56 Yeah, protect your peace as much as you can.

10:59 Your statement when you announced you're leaving

11:03 was like, the door's shut.

11:04 It's not locked, though.

11:06 So what would it take to reopen that door maybe a year,

11:09 two years, three years down the line?

11:12 What would it take?

11:14 I don't know.

11:15 I mean, that's-- that's your call.

11:17 You know, I'm going to support whatever decision that is.

11:19 But I mean, I think it's--

11:23 the space just has to be different.

11:31 And I-- yeah, I think time is always a teller of all things.

11:39 And yeah, definitely just a different space, for sure.

11:44 Could a different space also mean a different sort of show?

11:48 Would you do just a Chris and Candace and kiddo show

11:52 and document this, you know, a family show and stuff?

12:25 I would-- I'd have to do a little massaging

12:30 come to fruition, which we don't have any plans

12:34 to do anything like that.

12:35 But it would be cool to add to the list of, you know,

12:45 Or watch me become a parent for the first time.

13:16 Well, my hope is that they can unsink themselves.

13:23 So my hope would just be that there can be a dynamic shift.

13:28 That there can be, you know, growth and change

13:31 and a lightening of things.

14:14 is that I rarely leave things unsaid.

14:18 I, you know, historically cannot go on or move forward

14:25 without saying exactly how I feel.

14:29 I do think that I maybe took a sort of different approach

14:35 at this reunion at the request of the network

14:39 to try and be less vitriolic and more in a space

14:45 and a spirit of moving forward.

14:48 And, you know, you saw some of that, I think.

14:54 And there were things that I would have said had I not

14:58 been given those directives.

15:00 But at this juncture, it just-- it feels moot.

15:04 It feels like there isn't anything else to say.

15:10 It's-- I am so removed mentally from there.

15:19 There are just-- there's so many things happening,

15:22 you know, in my career, in Chris's career,

15:25 in our families, that I'm excited to be

15:30 able to focus on and enjoy without the behemoth that

15:41 is the show.

15:42 Something that I'm looking forward to is just having time

15:47 to just have time, time to breathe.

15:50 I'm still going to the gym.

15:52 I'm still trying to, you know, stay healthy

15:53 and keep my body intact for, hopefully, a healthy birth.

16:02 I'm still trying to do it all.
