00:00 We're gonna leave the kids home in charge. I'm definitely excited to be home alone or taking over.

00:15 This week on 7 Little Johnstons, it was the kids' time to take over as Trent and Amber went on a

00:19 romantic vacation. But first, let's start with Emma, who interviewed for a summer job at a

00:23 local boutique, and her entrepreneurial experience made her stand out. Do you have any experience

00:28 working in retail? Yes, I do. So I own like a business just online. Oh, that's awesome.

00:34 I just love selling. Yeah, I know that's hard work. So that's really impressive. Honestly,

00:39 most people your age do not have experience like that. During the interview, she got the chance to

00:43 pull out some pieces and show off her Ivor style. If someone came in, let's say like a girl that's

00:48 like your age, and she's looking for like an outfit for like a country concert, like what

00:53 would you dress her in? Let's see. Country concert. I have this exact outfit so far that

01:08 you're picking out, so great job. Okay, okay. I like that. That's cute. Meanwhile, Trent and

01:15 Amber were setting up their new bed, and Trent got a little cheeky talking about which side they'd

01:18 sleep on. We can sleep like this on like our number 60, but then when we need it firm to hold position,

01:25 we can be over here on like an 84. This bed has an air compressor. It blows up, and I was like,

01:32 hey, we can set one side over here to be our sleeping side, and this other side over here

01:37 can be our make it to another 25 years side. So which side is soft and which side's firm?

01:45 Clearly that's self-explanatory. They also talked about their upcoming vacation to Key West

01:50 and joked that Jonah might need some help waking up without them. We will be going for four days.

01:56 We need some sort of alarm that operates off an app so we can holler through the alarm. Jonah,

02:03 feet on the floor. Feet on the floor. Get your ass out of the bed. Later on, Anna invited everyone

02:09 over for a home-cooked family dinner and got some help in the kitchen from Jonah. Everything was

02:14 going great in the kitchen until Jonah tried Anna's Cajun sauce. I've been impressed with

02:18 Anna's cooking up until I tried the Cajun sauce. That was pretty foul. It was very salty. I don't

02:28 know what I did wrong. Did I miss a step in the recipe, bro? Give me some of your cold mayo.

02:32 Oh, I took it upon myself to make a new rendition of it before the family arrived.

02:38 Then everyone came over to eat, but there was a little hesitation. We're a little nervous,

02:42 I would say, about her cooking just because we've all tried her items in the past.

02:47 That tastes weird. Try the green beans. They're good.

02:54 They're not cooked. Let's take the stems off. And they're like overbearing and salt. I am feeling

03:03 good about this dinner and I'm excited for the family to try it because I know they're expecting

03:08 it to be bad. Anna was ready to prove them wrong and she did. This is very good. You know,

03:14 sitting down eating dinner, first bite is great. It was really, really tasty. The vegetables,

03:20 the chicken, it was great. We can trust Anna to cook the green beans for Thanksgiving. Oh, yeah.

03:25 Not gonna lie, I was pretty impressed with dinner. I was expecting

03:28 a catastrophe to say the least. I know. And nobody choked or spit out anything,

03:33 so it's all good signs. It was good. I'm stuck. That was very good. Thank you.

03:38 During dinner, Emma got a call with some great news about her interview.

03:41 Who was that? That was Blue Morning. Oh, the boutique? Yeah. What did she say?

03:46 She said, "I got the job." Congratulations.

03:49 The next night, Emma called Anna to get some help picking out her outfit for her first day on the

03:56 job. And they found a winner. Black leather. Top. Oh, yeah. That's really you. And it's cute for

04:05 the workplace, since you're working at a boutique. I would rate that outfit an A-10, because it looks

04:12 cute. I approve. Awesome. Now that I picked out a whole outfit, I'm gonna crush it tomorrow and

04:19 hopefully do great. While Emma got ready, Trent and Amber were gearing up for their trip to Key

04:24 West. And they talked about Alex and his long-distance girlfriend, Allie. Recently, we

04:28 have noticed that Alex has been, like, communicating a little bit less with Allie. But I think it's a

04:37 lot to do with cell phones and social media expectations in young relationships. It's a

04:44 little much for Alex. Kids are having to navigate that that's not always the best thing for romantic

04:51 relationships. But, you know, they got to figure that out. They also reflected on the nerves that

04:56 come with leaving the kids at home. We are very excited to take our first trip, but I think it's

05:01 like a nervous excited because we don't know how to take a vacation without the kids. This will be

05:09 a first for us, and this will be a first for the kids. Soon, they were off to Key West and having

05:13 a blast. Spending this time alone without kids has been wonderful. This is a true vacation for Trent

05:21 and I. Our hope is that the kids are handling being at home by themselves, and we really hope

05:28 that Emma is having a great first day at work. Back in Georgia, Emma woke up for her first day

05:33 of work, but her first task was waking up Jonah. Put your feet on the floor now. It's super hard

05:40 to get Jonah up in the morning. Like, the second time or third time, I have to, like, yell or make

05:46 some loud noise. Wake up. All right. The whistle was pretty awful. It's something that I hope nobody

05:59 has to, you know, wake up to. Jonah might have hated it, but I got him up. Mission accomplished.

06:05 Once she got to the boutique, she fit right into the hustle and bustle. I can take you if you need

06:10 it. Do you all need a dressing room? Here's 25. Let me grab them for you. I couldn't, like,

06:18 reach things up high, so I grabbed a hook. We actually have one at home, and I use it in my

06:24 closet because I like to switch my clothes. And so, yeah, I use it. Later on, Elizabeth came by

06:30 the house to see Emma, Alex, and Jonah. They did a blind taste test of four different sauces for

06:34 Jonah's upcoming barbecue contest, and one of them was a hit. Three, two, one. I use a wild

06:42 ingredient, like mushroom soy sauce, as one of my unique additives to my sauce. That one's good.

06:50 It was really good, and I would say that's probably the best barbecue sauce I've ever had.

06:54 Yeah, that's a good one. It had, like, Jonah's theme to it, like, flavor. Like, it's, like,

07:02 something that, like, oh, this is the one that, like, he worked hard on. For the last one,

07:05 Jonah experimented by adding some Vegemite, and everyone's reactions said it all. Three, two, one.

07:12 Yep, nope, nope, I already knew. Nope, nope, nope. Did you try it, Emma? Yes, I did. Alex,

07:23 you want a drink? Yes, very much. It's not a sauce for me. No, that's not a sauce. That's

07:30 just a punishment. Yeah. There's no way anybody would put that on a barbecue, and if there is,

07:34 that'd be disgusting. That's a zero. That ain't even a one. That's a zero. Yeah, that's a zero.

07:39 Zero's all the way to the board. What is that? That's horrible. Later, Trent and Amber came home

07:43 and found out everything went smoothly while they were gone, and they were happy how everything

07:47 turned out. Overall, our Key West trip was really fun. It kind of took me there for a moment,

07:53 back to, like, our dating days, because we could just go and do as we pleased. Thank y'all very

07:57 much. You're welcome. We made the trip, and we made it back, and we feel like all was taken care of.
