Hyacinth does her weekly volunteering shift at the local charity shop with Elizabeth and the formidable, anti-romance-tirading Mrs Councillor Nugent; meanwhile, a woman claiming to be Hyacinth's father's fiancée has moved herself into his bedroom and Hyacinth is called to manage the situation. Councillor Nugent arrives to return some unsuitable underwear donations to the donor: Rose.
