00:04 North West. A huge new production plant is set to be built in Preston creating dozens of jobs.

00:10 Caracol Group, an international leader in sustainable building materials, has acquired

00:14 40,000 square meters of land at Alps of Roman Way for its new production plant, the second in the UK.

00:20 With construction set to commence by late 2024 and completion expected by spring 2026,

00:27 the facility in Preston will add to the one already existing in Leyland and will serve

00:32 as a hub for manufacturing and distributing the group's products across the UK and Northern Europe.

00:36 A man was arrested after a child was struck by a van on a Wigan street on Thursday afternoon.

00:43 A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said at around 1.40pm on Thursday,

00:49 officers responded to reports of a road traffic collision between a van and a child on Market

00:54 Street in Hindley. The child was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be
