Southern Pacific #2355: Park Tour (3-13-2024)

Hey, everyone. I'm back with a new video. I went to Pioneer Park in Mesa to see the SP T-31 #2355.

*2355 was built in 1912 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a member of the T-31 Class. It was retired from service in 1957 and was fenced off for safety concerns in the 1990s. Efforts have been underway to relocate the engine to Pioneer Park since 2008. It underwent a cosmetic restoration to a running state from its current condition is deemed to be cost-prohibitive. Today, 2355 is one of two surviving members of the T-31 Class, the other one being sister engine 2353 at the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum in Campo, California.
