Sir Ian McKellen says it is "shameful" that drama is no longer on the curriculum in many schools.
The stage and screen actor says there is a funding crisis in the regional arts sector and that "Many of us in this country care about that and feel it is central to what it is to be part of this nation. The actor is set to star in "Player Kings" which will tour the regions after an initial West End run.
