00:00:10 Okay, recording here Thursday morning.
00:00:14 Outside we have the Northeaster that must have hit snooze about a half dozen times
00:00:19 because that is the only explanation for why we're here on April 4th,
00:00:23 coated with frozen rain and snow.
00:00:24 But inside it is toasty warm three weeks away from the NFL draft as we continue to
00:00:28 lay tracks for the hype train headed towards the draft.
00:00:31 We welcome in Fitzy and WEI's Mike Kadlec for the show, both of the Six Rings and
00:00:35 Football Things podcast along with Andy Hart who will join this show once IT can
00:00:40 figure out how to fit his head into the shot on YouTube.
00:00:43 >> Wow.
00:00:44 >> I like it.
00:00:46 >> Shots fired early, Hart catching strays, I love it.
00:00:49 >> It's almost seven and three quarters up top, not quite custom fit,
00:00:53 not like Kevin Mench, old Texas Ranger size eight, size eight hat.
00:00:58 But every once in a while my wife remembers that and
00:01:00 then has second thoughts about having kids with me.
00:01:01 So we'll see where that goes.
00:01:03 But enough about things that might get me in trouble.
00:01:05 A few things off the top.
00:01:06 >> Nice, Kevin, it's these eight.
00:01:07 >> These fine gentlemen here, this latest episode brought to you by Prize Picks.
00:01:11 We have a Patriots mock draft, snake draft.
00:01:15 I will explain what that is in a second.
00:01:18 First off the top, we have a terrific male fan segment at the end of this episode
00:01:21 with Gary Langley of Culver City, California, for those of you who don't know.
00:01:25 Male fan is just mailbag, except for
00:01:27 you made a donation to Boston Children's Hospital and you came on the show for
00:01:30 ten minutes.
00:01:30 Gary was great, he has a special offer for
00:01:32 you if you like Maine vacation houses and listen to this podcast.
00:01:36 So stay tuned at the end for this.
00:01:37 Second thing, shout out to my guy, Stefan, loyal listener,
00:01:40 saw him at the Garden last night as I was helping cover Celtics Thunder for
00:01:43 the Herald.
00:01:44 He stopped me to say hello, very nice guy, Stefan, my guy.
00:01:47 Speaking of the Thunder, fellas,
00:01:50 I tweeted this quote out last night and I have to assume you both took this as
00:01:54 a direct personal attack to your family name, the company name.
00:01:57 Because Thunder coach and Lemonster native, Mark Dagnall,
00:02:02 from a seated position, dunked over all of us in Boston Sports Media saying,
00:02:07 quote, I know how you guys are, because we used to go to Red Sox games.
00:02:11 Dagnall's like 39, and we listened to WEI afterward, and it's just a bloodbath.
00:02:18 Jesus, it's one out of 162, relapse, end quote.
00:02:22 Fellas, are you gonna take that standing up sitting down,
00:02:24 what's gonna happen?
00:02:25 >> Well, I take that with a historical grain of salt, because I think what he's
00:02:29 referencing is being a kid in the car on the way to the Sox game with his dad,
00:02:34 pre-reverse of the curse, prime evil empire versus the good guys of Red Sox nation.
00:02:41 And it was a bloodbath every night.
00:02:42 We lived and died by each and every Shaughnessy column, box score, and
00:02:47 big show with Glenn Ordway.
00:02:49 Since then, softness, complacency, and four championships in 20 years
00:02:54 has obviously eased the burden upon the back of Red Sox nation.
00:02:58 And dare I say, softened the efforts made by team parameters known as Henry and
00:03:04 the Fenway Sports Group.
00:03:05 So I feel 100%.
00:03:07 >> He's completely correct too.
00:03:10 I mean, I take it sitting down, sitting up, however you wanna say it.
00:03:12 But I mean, that's what we do here, right?
00:03:14 That's why we're on this pod.
00:03:16 That's why we're gonna go do this mock draft.
00:03:17 We make mountains out of molehills on just about everything,
00:03:20 just like we will with the Patriots coming draft.
00:03:22 So yeah, I thought that was a good quote.
00:03:25 >> It's a great quote.
00:03:26 And wouldn't you guys both agree that it's the Patriots who get it much more and
00:03:30 much harder now than the Red Sox do?
00:03:32 Like the Sox, we forgive a little bit because we know there's an issue with
00:03:36 ownership, and yeah, they haven't won a lot.
00:03:38 And I know the Pats have won a lot, but
00:03:39 it feels like the expectations for the Patriots are that much higher.
00:03:43 Even now with rookie coach, new general manager/director of scouting and
00:03:48 everything else.
00:03:49 >> I'd say there's more apathy towards the Sox.
00:03:51 The Pats are just perpetual anger, right?
00:03:54 Like, playoff season with a rookie quarterback.
00:03:57 You go eight, nine, no, okay, Matt Patricio is the issue.
00:03:59 He's out the window.
00:04:00 Four at 13.
00:04:01 And there's a new head coach who is learning on the fly with the media.
00:04:05 The crafts are now under fire constantly.
00:04:07 That's a separate issue.
00:04:09 But as far as bloodbaths and Mark Dagnall goes, 135 to 100, my friend.
00:04:14 That was a Celtics over his thunder last night, and
00:04:16 thus concludes our Mark Dagnall segment.
00:04:17 Okay, on to the goods, because I gave you guys some homework, which Fitzy by now
00:04:22 knows better, because that is just part of the deal of coming on the Pats
00:04:24 Interference podcast, is you're gonna have work to do before you come on here.
00:04:27 And Patriots mock draft, snake draft will work like this.
00:04:33 Myself, Cadillac, and Fitzy will take turns making selections for
00:04:37 the Patriots at number three, number 34, number 68, and number 104 overall.
00:04:43 Those are their picks in the first, second, and third, and fourth rounds.
00:04:46 At each pick, we will either be able to select a player, trade up or trade down.
00:04:51 However, if you are going second or third in this particular round,
00:04:55 say the first round, and Cadillac goes first, and he takes Drake May,
00:04:58 and it's my turn, I can't take Drake May.
00:05:00 I need to take somebody else, trade up or trade down.
00:05:03 Then the last person who goes, in this instance Fitzy,
00:05:05 will make the third selection at number three, and
00:05:07 this is the snake part of the draft.
00:05:09 Will then lead us off by making the first move in the second round.
00:05:13 And then we'll go back to me, and then to Cadillac to finish the second round.
00:05:17 There is one catch, however.
00:05:18 If, let's say, I wanna build this big, fancy trade at number three,
00:05:22 where the Patriots go up or they go down, and Cadillac and
00:05:25 Fitzy being the opposing GM in this scenario, go that trade sucks.
00:05:29 I can't make it, I have to make a pick instead.
00:05:31 They have veto power, and that spices up our Patriots mock draft, snake draft.
00:05:36 You do not have to make trades, we can take players or do whatever we want.
00:05:39 The point of this exercise, A, is cuz it's fun and it's gimmicky, and look,
00:05:42 it's early April, it's early season.
00:05:44 But secondarily, it's to lay out maximum options for
00:05:48 the Patriots at all of these picks as we see it right now.
00:05:51 Again, three weeks away from the draft, what are their best options?
00:05:53 If option A is off the table, what's option B?
00:05:56 And then option C.
00:05:57 Fellas, are you ready?
00:05:59 >> Born ready, baby.
00:06:01 >> Good, well, Cadillac better be ready cuz he's going first.
00:06:04 So the Patriots are up at number three overall.
00:06:07 You have every player that is a reasonable expectation to go at this pick.
00:06:13 We're using the consensus board at nflmockdraftdatabase.com.
00:06:17 And if you're building a trade,
00:06:18 shout out our friend Rich Hilt and his modern trade value chart.
00:06:21 So you have the third pick, all options on the table reasonably.
00:06:24 What are you doing at number three, Mike Cadillac?
00:06:26 >> I have, without question, the easiest pick of the entire draft.
00:06:31 First overall, no one jumping down my throat for
00:06:35 trades because we just stick and we pick Drake May from the University of
00:06:39 North Carolina.
00:06:40 He fits what they wanna do on offense with Alex Van Pelt's system.
00:06:44 He's not smaller scrawny like Jaden Daniels is, so
00:06:47 he doesn't have to worry about the weather.
00:06:49 He comes in and maybe some growing pains behind Jacoby Percet, but
00:06:54 that's the pick, it's Drake May.
00:06:56 I think it's a slam dunk.
00:06:57 I think I would take him at number two.
00:06:59 I would maybe even consider if I'm the Patriots taking him at number one.
00:07:02 I think he's that good of a prospect.
00:07:04 So give me Drake May, UNC, sign, seal, delivered, bring him home.
00:07:09 >> So you're saying the Bears need to send Keenan Allen back to Chapel Hill to go
00:07:13 hang out with him for an afternoon, check him out, is that what you're saying?
00:07:15 >> Exactly, yeah.
00:07:16 >> To the Williams?
00:07:16 Okay. >> Yeah.
00:07:17 >> Wow, wow.
00:07:18 What's our, cuz I think this is now almost becoming an inevitability the same way
00:07:24 Caleb Williams to the Bears is an inevitability.
00:07:26 He takes one visit, has dinner in Chicago, goes home, that's that.
00:07:30 So we have to start getting behind this.
00:07:33 He's probably gonna wear 10, so that means our Mac Jones jerseys and
00:07:36 Garoppolos can get taped over, recycled, reused, etc.
00:07:39 What are we gonna call him?
00:07:42 Callahan, you have to have a lot of catchy headlines.
00:07:44 We obviously have to have Nito nicknames for the radio, for
00:07:47 the blog, and the socials as well.
00:07:49 Are we going Drake the Snake?
00:07:50 Is it the Matriot?
00:07:51 Is it Mayday?
00:07:53 Come what may.
00:07:54 >> What I brought to the table today, Fitzy, was the whole gimmick,
00:07:57 the whole idea of the Snake draft mock draft.
00:07:59 So I'm just gonna take the rest of today off.
00:08:01 I don't have anything for you in this way.
00:08:03 But I like the Matriot, I've seen you use that before.
00:08:06 The first thought that I had, because again, I age, I feel like twice as fast as
00:08:10 everyone else at this point, is the love the Drake,
00:08:14 hate the Drake line from all of those Seinfeld episodes.
00:08:17 >> Right. >> So I just wanna love the Drake.
00:08:19 I want everyone to love the Drake.
00:08:20 If he ends up becoming the pick, it still could very well be Jaden Daniels or
00:08:23 Adam Schefter.
00:08:23 Apparently on his podcast yesterday, he said it looks like Jaden Daniels.
00:08:26 Signs are pointing to Daniels at two and Drake May, possibly at three.
00:08:30 So I don't know, I feel like we got time.
00:08:33 >> Here's the other one that me and Andy Hart threw out yesterday on the six
00:08:37 rings of football things.
00:08:38 The Maniacs are like his fan club, the fan base.
00:08:42 But when you have the banner in the corner of the end zone that's hanging down,
00:08:46 it's like these are the Maniacs or something.
00:08:48 So that's another one to keep in mind as we inch closer to draft day.
00:08:51 >> Yeah. >> That's good, that's good.
00:08:53 >> I like it, I like it, that's pretty good.
00:08:54 You can't get enough of them.
00:08:55 You're gonna steal all these for the back page of the Herald too.
00:08:59 He gets absolutely drubbed like seven sacks against the Jets.
00:09:02 It'll be like Patty Drake.
00:09:03 >> Yeah. >> Patriots rookie pounded into
00:09:05 submission as Jets thrive.
00:09:08 I get it. >> Can't have any of that though.
00:09:09 >> [LAUGH] >> Are you sad also to be done with
00:09:12 the era where every single Jets game for the last five, six years was just,
00:09:17 they haven't won.
00:09:19 The Jets have not beaten the Patriots since Obama was in office.
00:09:22 In December 2015 was the last Jets win over the Patriots.
00:09:26 And now that era has ended because of some snowy mishap of a football game that
00:09:29 happened in January.
00:09:31 >> I really wasn't even a football game.
00:09:33 It wasn't.
00:09:34 It was such a sad end to both the season.
00:09:37 Well, that season couldn't end quickly enough in the Belichick era as well.
00:09:40 And that's why I've been banging the drum that should Bill Belichick accept
00:09:44 the invitation from the Patriots and show up at 6/12/24 for
00:09:48 Tom Brady Hall of Fame Day.
00:09:49 He will get the do, the adulation and the love and
00:09:54 the five minute standing ovation he so richly and roundly deserve.
00:09:57 But obviously couldn't get in the diagonal snow of that craptacular end to
00:10:01 a shitty season.
00:10:02 >> Yeah, if we couldn't complicate Brady and Belichick's relationship anymore.
00:10:07 Hey Bill, please crash this one day we've carved out for
00:10:10 Tom and get just as loud of an applause.
00:10:12 How do you feel about that?
00:10:14 >> Okay, so I know we talk a lot about the draft in this podcast.
00:10:16 It's a football podcast.
00:10:17 It's a Patriots podcast.
00:10:18 What else are we gonna do until April 25th?
00:10:21 Well, let me tell you soon enough, we are gonna turn our attention to the Celtics
00:10:24 and Bruins cuz they're getting in the playoff action.
00:10:26 And so can you with prize picks America's number one fantasy sports app.
00:10:31 Where right now you can win up to 100 times your money with as few as four
00:10:36 correct picks with basketball, hockey and other sports on prize picks.
00:10:40 And I'll tell you, look, I like price picks for baseball too.
00:10:43 The Red Sox just started up.
00:10:44 They're playing the Mariners, the A's.
00:10:46 I put a little money down and I got a lot more money back.
00:10:48 So download the app today and use code CLNS for
00:10:53 a first deposit match up to 100 bucks.
00:10:55 I did the same.
00:10:56 Again, download the app today.
00:10:57 Use code CLNS at price picks for first deposit match up to $100 and
00:11:02 you can do the same.
00:11:03 Basketball, hockey and baseball.
00:11:05 We got a lot to do until the draft and you can find it all at price picks.
00:11:09 >> Moving on to the future.
00:11:10 >> I mocked that.
00:11:11 >> Drake May is quote unquote off the table.
00:11:13 The Patriots still picking three.
00:11:14 Their plan B in your eyes, Fitzzie, is what?
00:11:16 >> Boy, I can't wait.
00:11:19 The best part is right now I can't hear the jeers, sneers,
00:11:22 boos and anger that would come with what I'm about to do.
00:11:27 But looks like the card is in and the New England Patriots will be trading
00:11:33 back from third overall, accepting an offer from the Minnesota Vikings,
00:11:39 who scold all the way up to number three to take their quarterback of the future
00:11:43 to work with Kevin O'Connell and Josh McCown.
00:11:46 I as GM of the Patriots now accept 11-23 Minnesota's first round pick in 2025,
00:11:53 believing that to be commensurate value for the pick.
00:11:57 You guys know I am in it for the long game as well.
00:12:00 I still think there's a way that you can build the team to be competitive and
00:12:03 entertaining this year.
00:12:05 And also add prospects and blue chips to build this team to be competitive for
00:12:09 the next five and ten years.
00:12:10 So I'm trading back to 11 and 23 and
00:12:14 with the 11th overall pick in the 2024 NFL first round.
00:12:18 I take out of, you ready for this?
00:12:22 Penn State, give me Olufesanu offense tackle because you know what?
00:12:28 I'm going to Harbaugh style baby.
00:12:30 You win big games with big men in big trenches.
00:12:33 >> That's inspiring.
00:12:36 And how much did that quote move you?
00:12:38 You're like, have I just been watching football wrong the whole time that I've
00:12:41 been watching the ball as opposed to all of the giant men on the line being like,
00:12:45 if they're good, nothing else matters because everyone's relying on them.
00:12:48 And they're relying on no one when he said that at the owners meeting two weeks
00:12:51 ago. >> Right, it was outstanding.
00:12:54 He's such a weirdo, I love it.
00:12:56 I absolutely love it.
00:12:59 I mean, he's gonna go chalk, he's gonna take a tackle,
00:13:02 he's gonna take Blake Corum, he's gonna take Zach Zinter.
00:13:04 He's gonna rebuild Michigan in Los Angeles.
00:13:07 And there'll be a tough out in every game.
00:13:10 And if the Patriots are gonna build toughness and they're gonna have depth,
00:13:13 we all agree, I believe, that the Patriots need to, in some order,
00:13:17 get a quarterback, a wide receiver, one, and a left tackle.
00:13:20 And I believe that by pick 34, the New England Patriots can achieve all three of
00:13:24 those things and not just grab gimmicks or
00:13:28 desperate reaches so as to appease fan base and ownership that need all three.
00:13:32 >> Okay.
00:13:33 >> And as much as I wanted to play the stingy general manager in this situation,
00:13:39 that was gonna be my trade if I didn't get Drake May.
00:13:42 But to a tee, 11-23 in the 2025 fifth, or the 2025 first, rather.
00:13:48 So I'm all for it, I think that's the perfect compensation too.
00:13:51 >> All right. >> So I disagree vehemently with both
00:13:55 of you.
00:13:56 >> [LAUGH] >> Okay.
00:13:57 >> I see this trade a lot because Minnesota's got two first round picks.
00:14:02 They seem like they're moving up for a quarterback.
00:14:04 There's just this natural progression to where could they go to get a quarterback,
00:14:06 number three.
00:14:07 And I look at this and go, I'm not,
00:14:09 cuz basically you're not getting three first round picks, it's two first round
00:14:13 picks, one of which will be late in this round, and then another will be TBD next
00:14:17 year, you're moving back eight spots in this scenario.
00:14:21 Understanding what the Cardinals gave up to move up nine spots, or excuse me,
00:14:24 the Texans did with the Cardinals, from 12 to three last year, not for
00:14:28 a quarterback, but for Will Anderson, getting a second, a first, a future third.
00:14:34 I need more, because this is for a quarterback.
00:14:36 This is where the drop off is, unless you're in love with JJ McCarthy.
00:14:39 So I had a trade ready to go, but as we just detailed at the start,
00:14:43 because I now pick third, I cannot take Drake May.
00:14:46 And I cannot trade back, because these are the options, as we've laid out,
00:14:49 that have already been taken in the first round of this mock draft-snake draft.
00:14:52 What I can do is either pick a player at number three,
00:14:55 which Jane Daniels feels like a cop out, I'm not gonna do that.
00:14:57 Or I can trade up, and to be clear, if I was gonna trade back,
00:15:02 I had this deal outlined, from three to six with the Giants,
00:15:05 I get a future first round pick, because I know what you're coming up for.
00:15:09 You're washing your hands of Danny Dimes, you're cashing in,
00:15:11 you're trying to find Drake the dollar to get him at number three.
00:15:15 I want your second round pick this year and a fourth round pick.
00:15:17 So a future first, a second, and a fourth.
00:15:19 And instead, I'm gonna move up, fellas.
00:15:22 I'm calling- >> Wow.
00:15:24 >> And I'm getting Jane Daniels, which again, to be clear,
00:15:27 if you were trying to follow this in a traditional, sensical way,
00:15:31 you're going to hate the rest of the episode.
00:15:33 Cuz the point of this is not to have an actual mock draft.
00:15:35 >> We all have abject mock draft fatigue at this point.
00:15:39 I can't think of any more of these, I'd love to move with the Giants,
00:15:42 maybe trade back with the Vikings.
00:15:43 Maybe pick third overall, maybe trade up to the first over.
00:15:46 Because you know why, Andrew?
00:15:47 We've been all doing the same column, blog, podcast, and
00:15:50 radio show since freaking November because the team sucked so bad last year.
00:15:55 >> And there's still almost a month till the day, it does get exciting.
00:15:58 And that's why this is super fun, so yeah, go for it, go trade up.
00:16:00 >> Okay, so again, off the table, Drake May, I cannot take Drake May.
00:16:04 I cannot trade back, even if I really like my deal with the Giants,
00:16:06 which is as much as I can get similar compensation, not drop back that far.
00:16:11 But still get a Malik neighbors, Roma, Jundze or Joe, all in addition to three,
00:16:15 maybe four quarterbacks to go.
00:16:17 Because I think those guys are elite blue chip top tier players.
00:16:20 And I like Olu, don't get me wrong, but that's the sweet spot.
00:16:24 Still get a player deserving of the top five, top ten, and
00:16:27 add a bunch of extra draft capital.
00:16:28 But in this instance, I can't do that.
00:16:30 So I move up to Washington, and I give them a third, and
00:16:33 I give them a future fourth.
00:16:35 And I say, here you go, you clearly like Drake May and
00:16:38 Jaden Daniels because we're on the phone.
00:16:40 I like one more than the other.
00:16:41 In this instance, it's Jaden Daniels, who I have said I like Drake May more.
00:16:45 But this is a guy who I spoke with an executive this week who just says, look,
00:16:49 we talk about the speed, we time the speed.
00:16:51 It is terrifying on the field.
00:16:53 That is a baked in plan B for any play that goes wrong.
00:16:57 The issue of course is the Patriots need to protect him, but
00:16:59 we have more picks, we have more decisions.
00:17:01 It seemed like there were shock that set in when I move up to Washington here.
00:17:04 Any other further thoughts before we go to round two?
00:17:07 >> No, I just, the one thing, I don't wonder about the whole,
00:17:11 this guy, he runs into too many sacks.
00:17:13 He takes such hard hits, he was playing a college game.
00:17:16 He's gonna understand that A, he is the asset for whatever franchise takes him.
00:17:20 And B, you can't RG3 yourself into oblivion and miss out on that second deal.
00:17:27 It's like the tragedy of Mac Jones for getting mishandled and for
00:17:31 RG3 for just getting abused and abused and put away, wet and broken.
00:17:35 I think he's gonna be terrific.
00:17:39 Between the two, I think I've grown to like Drake May a little bit more over
00:17:43 Jaden Daniels, but make no mistake.
00:17:44 If the simulation and the settings are perfect,
00:17:47 Jaden Daniels can F some S up real good.
00:17:50 He's a, I mean, you don't get 50 touchdowns in the SEC by accident.
00:17:54 >> I feel like Jaden Daniels is all of a sudden getting like the short end of
00:17:57 the stick here where everyone loved him and we fell in love with him because it
00:18:00 felt like he was gonna be a patriot.
00:18:01 And then all of a sudden it turned to Drake May, so everyone loves May more.
00:18:04 And then now we're gonna end up with Daniels and
00:18:05 people are gonna be disappointed where he's a really good football player.
00:18:08 Like this is a three quarterback class at the top.
00:18:11 So realistically, the Patriots in a pretty good spot at the reso yeah,
00:18:15 I like treading up for Daniels just as much as I like taking.
00:18:18 >> Yeah, he's exceptionally accurate.
00:18:20 He layers the ball to all levels of the field.
00:18:22 I mentioned the speed cuz it's obvious but I think it just deserves reiterating.
00:18:25 Like he's a guy who's run a post style offense, plenty of reps in there,
00:18:28 just needs to protect himself.
00:18:30 All right, and learn to extend plays rather than just throw or scramble,
00:18:34 which was his MO at LSU where he only happened to win the highest trophy.
00:18:37 And as you said, 50 scored 50 touchdowns.
00:18:38 So still an excellent prospect.
00:18:40 It feels like nationally, everyone has fallen off on Drake May.
00:18:44 Locally, the love for him has grown and it's been flipped for Jaden Daniels.
00:18:48 I just don't want folks listening to this podcast to forget.
00:18:51 He's freaking outstanding and that's probably why he's gonna go number two.
00:18:54 But in this instance, he goes number two and he's a New England Patriot.
00:18:56 All right, at number 34, I'm gonna keep this simple.
00:18:58 Ladd McConkie comes straight on down.
00:19:01 He is six foot, he is fast, he is quick, he is sure handed.
00:19:04 You're not gonna get the number one here but
00:19:07 as far as the best players available, look, I think he's right up there.
00:19:10 I consider an offensive tackle, talked a lot about Jordan Morgan's supposedly
00:19:14 short arms earlier this week with Doug Kite.
00:19:16 I'm getting the receiver.
00:19:18 He's not going to be Edelman.
00:19:19 He's not going to be Welker.
00:19:21 He doesn't even have the same playing style.
00:19:23 But he will sell out his jersey because folks will think that before they see him
00:19:27 in training camp and his name is freaking Ladd McConkie.
00:19:31 >> It's a McConkie.
00:19:34 If you know football, you know McConkie is legacy.
00:19:37 I don't even know what his relation to Phil McConkie is.
00:19:40 It doesn't matter.
00:19:40 Phil McConkie had A, one of the greatest names of all time and B,
00:19:43 one of the five greatest mustaches in the history of the NFL as well.
00:19:46 And there's giants to Patriots to Belichick legacy there.
00:19:49 Every time I hear his name, I just, I always like, that's me boy, Ladd McConkie.
00:19:54 I just want him, I do.
00:19:56 I just love the way he plays.
00:19:58 He's quick, he's strong.
00:20:01 Watch the game tape, the tape don't lie.
00:20:06 And whenever I saw at the Underwear Olympics,
00:20:08 when I saw him at the combine do that.
00:20:10 I don't know what the name of that drill is guys, where you catch it,
00:20:13 you turn, you catch it on the sidelines.
00:20:16 And then the receivers run across the field and they have to look both ways.
00:20:19 >> Yeah, receiving.
00:20:20 >> He ran it like he was in traction.
00:20:24 He moved like he's actually on skates, like he was on rails.
00:20:29 The dude is so fluid, so quick.
00:20:32 I think any team he goes to, and I don't think he's gonna be there at 34 Callahan.
00:20:36 I don't think he makes it past 32 at the Chiefs because his rookie season,
00:20:41 he could possibly catch 110 balls for the Chiefs.
00:20:45 He may go to Buffalo early,
00:20:46 because now that Buffalo is in the wide receiver market.
00:20:49 And that's one of the fallouts of the Steph Diggs trade, like, good,
00:20:52 we don't have to worry about facing Steph Diggs twice a year.
00:20:55 Like, yeah, well now Buffalo is also either gonna take McConkie or
00:20:58 Adonai Mitchell or whoever else the Patriots may have their eyes on.
00:21:01 For a wide receiver well before you guys get there.
00:21:04 So just one of those little ancillary details.
00:21:05 >> Yeah, at this point- >> To the big Steph Diggs deal.
00:21:08 >> No, you're right with the Diggs deal.
00:21:09 There could be ten receivers now that go in the first round.
00:21:12 But I love McConkie too.
00:21:13 I think I wrote something for this morning actually for
00:21:16 wei.com about how the Patriots need to go get a number one wide receiver.
00:21:20 Because of what they've had in the past, it's been so bad and so average.
00:21:24 Like, there was something with their yards of separation last season where
00:21:28 three of their receivers were in the bottom five in a given week.
00:21:33 And it's like, Ladd McConkie immediately gets off the ball.
00:21:36 Quick, separator, he's just a stud.
00:21:38 And you're right, Callahan too, he's not just a shifty slot guy.
00:21:41 He can play on the outside.
00:21:43 He can get down the field.
00:21:44 He does it all, and he is gonna be a very good player.
00:21:47 And I'm with Fitzy, I don't think he probably will be there at 34.
00:21:51 But since it's your podcast,
00:21:52 I guess we can give it to you that he's gonna be there, so.
00:21:54 >> Well, a couple of things on Ladd McConkie, because I think it deserves his
00:21:57 driving home and then we'll get to Fitzy's pick.
00:22:00 Is he the legit six foot?
00:22:02 This is not all of the guys that my girlfriends swipe and
00:22:06 see six foot and go, he's at least 5'10" at best.
00:22:09 He's not rounding up here.
00:22:10 We all measured him, saw him measuring at the end of a comment.
00:22:13 That's what he is.
00:22:14 Secondarily, he has, at times when you watch him work against zone coverage,
00:22:19 have the field mapped out in his head as he's running over the middle.
00:22:22 Where he'll catch a ball on kind of an over route and stop, or a hook.
00:22:27 And then understand, I need to turn the other way because the hook defender or
00:22:31 the single highest safety is closing down on me.
00:22:34 Coming from a certain angle and I'm gonna pull away from him.
00:22:36 This is in the process before he stops, makes a catch and turns away.
00:22:39 That's the stuff that gets you not only just a fast start in year one, but
00:22:44 sustains your career because you're avoiding injury and you understand,
00:22:48 I have all these tools, but which one do I need to use now?
00:22:51 Now granted, he was injured a fair amount at Georgia and that's a real issue.
00:22:55 But I think those are things that the Patriots can kind of massage a bit,
00:22:58 as they have with other players, even recently during these terrible seasons.
00:23:01 All right, so Lampakaki is off the board.
00:23:03 You can trade up, you can trade down, you can take any other player.
00:23:06 What are you doing at number 34 for the Patriots?
00:23:09 >> Do I get to also make pick 23 as well?
00:23:11 >> Yes, yes, please do.
00:23:13 >> Excellent, all right, I got a double picker here.
00:23:15 All right, so with pick 23 in the first round, which I received in my trade
00:23:18 with the Minnesota Vikings, three first round picks in exchange for pick three
00:23:22 overall, fare thee well and good luck, Drake May in Minnesota.
00:23:26 As you scold on your way to fourth place in the NFC North next season.
00:23:30 I am taking somebody that it seems like I am the only big believer in at WEI.
00:23:35 I can't believe I'm in lockstep with of all people, Michael Felger on this one.
00:23:41 I know we the diametrically opposed opposites of Boston sports media, but
00:23:45 I love him for that and he's great at what he does.
00:23:47 No hate, all love and celebration here.
00:23:49 23rd overall, making Mike on Wenu your most important tackle on the New England
00:23:55 Patriots, putting a core for back at the right tackle spot for the time being.
00:24:00 And we'll see what we do with all of Shana in the future to come.
00:24:03 Give me Michael Pennix Jr.
00:24:05 Out of the University of Washington.
00:24:07 I sorry guys like I've Stroud showed us in the college football semifinal last
00:24:13 year that he could ball out and we should have believed it.
00:24:15 And in the college football semifinal this year, even if it was a big 12 defense,
00:24:19 you don't throw for 70% completion, 430 yards and two touchdowns.
00:24:24 And also scamper for a bunch as well.
00:24:26 Lighting up the scoreboard with three potential first or
00:24:29 second round wide receivers to come with Jalen poke,
00:24:31 McMillan obviously in Roma dunze by accident.
00:24:34 This guy can hit the medicals have checked out for
00:24:37 540 at his pro day can throw it over the mountains, 37 inch vertical.
00:24:42 And he's just an at he's an athlete and I yeah, he needs to learn some touch.
00:24:46 Yes, obviously it's a risk.
00:24:47 The last time the Patriots took someone with two ACLs, it was Dominique Easley and
00:24:51 we saw the way that that went with him and his dogs.
00:24:53 I like I've been a fan for a long time and I again, I'm stacking value and
00:24:58 I think this kid can play in the NFL.
00:25:00 >> Kelly.
00:25:03 >> Yeah, I mean, I think at this point I wonder if he's even there at 23.
00:25:08 I'm a fan too and I saw there was a rap sheet report today that said he could go
00:25:12 in the first half of the first round and really right now the only knock.
00:25:16 Like you mentioned fits he is the injuries like he does it all.
00:25:20 He's he has a rocket arm.
00:25:21 He's incredibly accurate.
00:25:22 He showed off the speed.
00:25:24 And I look at him too as my call it.
00:25:26 I mean fifth quarterback, but really it's it's such an important position that these
00:25:30 guys can go off.
00:25:32 We saw Matt Jones be the fifth quarterback at number 15, right?
00:25:35 And so I like the panic to pick.
00:25:37 I could see it at 23.
00:25:39 I could also see it at 34 if they get there.
00:25:41 And if I didn't take Drake May already, he was gonna be on the board for
00:25:44 me at 34.
00:25:45 So I like it too.
00:25:46 He's a really good player.
00:25:48 >> And Callahan, I want to let me just add that if you know if Elliot Wolf and
00:25:52 the Highsmith and everyone are getting Intel that maybe that maybe just maybe he
00:25:57 could be gone by the middle of the first round,
00:25:59 then I would be completely comfortable flip flopping these picks.
00:26:01 I would take panics at 11 and then I'd be okay with like a Marius Mims or
00:26:06 Guyton out of out of Oklahoma at 23.
00:26:09 Either way, I see what about your guy Bo Nix.
00:26:12 Bo Nix at 11.
00:26:13 You didn't think you didn't want to take Bo Nix at 11.
00:26:15 I know that now he's my boy.
00:26:18 If we choose the chaos theory and we go Marvin Harrison Jr.
00:26:21 Three and Bo Nix at 34, that's the key plan.
00:26:24 Okay, so panics.
00:26:27 Look, you're right.
00:26:28 Absolutely showed out in the semifinal against Texas.
00:26:30 There's a huge difference between that Texas defense and
00:26:33 what Georgia had when CJ Stratton almost knocked him off the year before.
00:26:37 And I think as a player, there's issues a little bit with the delivery.
00:26:42 Even though he was an injury to Washington, he still got a slider frame.
00:26:45 And the issues extending plays, what are you gonna do feeling pressure, right?
00:26:49 How much can you create on your own,
00:26:50 which is really the separating characteristic of the modern quarterback.
00:26:53 Mahomes, Josh Allen, Herbert, Jaylen Hurts to an extent, Joe Burrow a little bit.
00:26:58 Like make the indefensible play after the defense has had the perfect coverage or
00:27:03 immediate pass rush.
00:27:04 I think panics lacks there compared to Jane Daniels and
00:27:07 Drake Maynes, certainly Caleb Williams.
00:27:09 The health concerns, I'm with you guys.
00:27:10 Like how many more seasons do we need to go and say, yeah,
00:27:14 he's played another whole season.
00:27:15 What do you want?
00:27:16 I don't think last year is probably representative of what he'll do in
00:27:19 the NFL, again, given the surrounding talent.
00:27:22 Which people wanna knock Jane Daniels, I understand that.
00:27:24 But I just think it was a perfect situation.
00:27:27 It was an excellent team.
00:27:28 He played great.
00:27:29 It's just I think he's rightfully a tier below these guys.
00:27:31 But look, if you have 23 and you got your left tackle, might as well top.
00:27:35 All right, Kevin, do you have a trade?
00:27:36 Cuz we have not had any chance to beat, I guess you guys could have, or
00:27:39 we could have vetoed earlier.
00:27:40 Are we gonna- >> I still get to sneak in 34 though,
00:27:43 I never snuck in 34.
00:27:44 That was my extra base.
00:27:45 >> I'm gonna get you out of here in like 15 minutes.
00:27:47 >> I know, no, it's all good, no rush, all good.
00:27:50 I would like to, I'll make this one real quick,
00:27:53 the Patriots finally get a chance here at 34th overall.
00:27:56 I was very tempted, believe it or not, to again, choose chaos and
00:28:00 make a very unpopular pick.
00:28:01 I love that Braden Fisk kid, the defensive lineman out of Florida State.
00:28:06 He was dynamite at the combine, and I think he's gonna be wildly disruptive.
00:28:12 He may jump up to the top of somebody's second round.
00:28:14 And why not? Again, it's sort of like,
00:28:16 that's why I would have gone for LeGarrius Sneed and not free agency, but
00:28:19 I would have made the trade.
00:28:20 It's like, you get one of the top five cornerbacks in the NFL to come on.
00:28:25 He's worth $19 million a year and you've got the money.
00:28:27 I think the Patriots completely whiffed it, but I'm not passing up a chance to get
00:28:32 my Debo Samuel after five years ago, the Patriots whiffed on getting their Debo
00:28:36 Samuel, 34th overall.
00:28:37 It's a bit of a reach.
00:28:39 Give me Xavier Leguette out of the University of South Carolina.
00:28:43 Hopefully he becomes your true wide receiver one.
00:28:45 Kid's a natural born playmaker.
00:28:47 >> Catholic just made the face of shit.
00:28:50 I have to scratch off my top.
00:28:51 >> Yeah, so all right.
00:28:53 So he was actually, he was option two, because I need to clarify.
00:28:57 Can I trade my pick for a current player?
00:29:00 >> Yeah.
00:29:03 >> All right.
00:29:04 >> Then I am trading.
00:29:05 >> We'll see who the player is.
00:29:07 >> Okay.
00:29:08 >> Pick 34 for Brandon Iuke from the San Francisco 49ers.
00:29:13 I want him, I want to pay him.
00:29:16 Give me Brandon Iuke for pick 34, straight up, nothing added.
00:29:19 You know what? I'll negotiate.
00:29:20 If you guys say no, I'll even throw in a future pick if I have to, but
00:29:24 I want Brandon Iuke.
00:29:24 >> So there will be no negotiation.
00:29:25 There will be one question from me and then Fitzzie and
00:29:28 I are gonna confirm in front of your face and render a decision.
00:29:31 >> Okay. >> Is a second round pick all that you
00:29:33 want to offer for Brandon Iuke?
00:29:38 >> All right, fine, I'll throw in a 2025 fourth.
00:29:43 That's the offer.
00:29:45 >> I think- >> I'm saying no.
00:29:48 >> I think, really, I was gonna say you could put that to the Callahan trade
00:29:51 machine.
00:29:52 Here's the thing, I think the 49ers say- >> You can't afford them.
00:29:54 John Lynch, you can't afford them.
00:29:55 You have too many players on that payroll.
00:29:57 >> No, you're right, but here's the thing.
00:29:59 Between Debo Samuel and Brandon Iuke, I think they trade Debo.
00:30:04 Because I think Debo is more susceptible to injuries.
00:30:07 I think Iuke has blossomed and shown them exactly why they need him.
00:30:12 And while you don't exactly find, or Debo's don't grow on trees,
00:30:15 even though I just said I wanted to find the next Debo Samuel with Xavier Leguette.
00:30:19 I think they would move on from Debo first.
00:30:21 I'm keeping Iuke from them.
00:30:24 >> He's got more tread in his tires too, but he's more expensive, so
00:30:27 the cost is gonna be a little bit lower than Iuke.
00:30:29 I just think the Niners are going, give us a first round pick or that's it.
00:30:33 Like it's the Jimmy G trade talks from three years ago.
00:30:36 It was, I'm trying to remember the pick that they got.
00:30:39 It took Kinlaw, Javon Kinlaw a couple years ago to South Carolina to replace
00:30:41 their defense tackle, DeForest Buckner.
00:30:43 They trade DeForest Buckner, get a first round pick, in return take Kinlaw.
00:30:47 I think they look at this and go, we really wanna keep him.
00:30:49 We'll jump through all of the salary caps gymnastics.
00:30:52 So apologies, you've been vetoed.
00:30:55 But it's not a bad idea.
00:30:57 I just think if the Patriots are gonna get him for 34,
00:31:00 the Chiefs are like, well, we have 32.
00:31:02 Here you go.
00:31:04 >> Yeah.
00:31:05 >> My God. >> All right, shut down.
00:31:06 >> Can you imagine him there?
00:31:07 Holy smokes. >> No, that would stink.
00:31:09 All right, then I'm going boring.
00:31:11 I'm going basic.
00:31:12 Give me my anchor at left tackle.
00:31:14 Give me Jordan Morgan.
00:31:15 I don't care about the arms, like you said.
00:31:17 Great player, Arizona, and just put him, he's my left tackle.
00:31:22 Maybe to start the season, maybe we have to reel him in and
00:31:25 sort of ease him into the process.
00:31:28 But you have guys here right now for it, but give me Jordan Morgan,
00:31:30 make it basic, protect Drake May for the next ten years.
00:31:33 Also give me Jordan Morgan as the left tackle for pick 34.
00:31:36 >> Thoughts, Vincey?
00:31:38 >> Fine pick, safe pick.
00:31:41 I mean- >> It would have been a lot better if it
00:31:42 was Brandon Ayoub, I guess, but I'll take Jordan Morgan.
00:31:45 >> [LAUGH] So I like the pick, I think it's fine.
00:31:48 I think Jordan Morgan, again, said earlier this week,
00:31:51 I think his tape coming off an ACL last year was not as good as it could have been,
00:31:56 obviously, without the injury.
00:31:57 So we are looking for projecting here in 2024.
00:32:00 You take the injury into account, but if you bump up that film a little bit,
00:32:03 he's an early second round pick who probably goes in the first now.
00:32:06 And when you look specifically at their game against UCLA,
00:32:10 Lacey Latu, UCLA Edge Defender,
00:32:12 who is an analytics darling, gonna go in the middle of the first round.
00:32:15 He held his own pretty well, anchoring against him,
00:32:18 which you need to with those short arms.
00:32:20 Again, that's a small sample, but it's an excellent player as far as his draft
00:32:24 class goes, and I think it's a fine pick.
00:32:26 All right, you lead us off, number 68, who you got?
00:32:29 >> All right, so there is a lot of volatility with this guy as far as where
00:32:34 he lands.
00:32:35 So am I gonna be able to get Jalen Polk out of Washington and pick 68, fellas?
00:32:41 >> Yeah. >> Okay.
00:32:42 >> I feel like one of the two Washington receivers is gonna be available at 68.
00:32:48 >> All right. >> And I like them both.
00:32:50 >> All right, then I'm gonna go with the Polk Jalen.
00:32:52 I'm gonna go Jalen Polk, outside receiver, go up and get it guy.
00:32:57 Can do a lot of things, but was one of the two 1,000 yard receivers
00:33:01 with Michael Penix Jr. at Washington this season.
00:33:04 I wasn't able to get my guy at 34, my future number one in Brandon Iuk.
00:33:08 So I take a shot at 68 with Jalen Polk.
00:33:11 Again, good player, a guy who can change your offense probably almost instantly,
00:33:15 because you just need it with this team.
00:33:17 There's a lot of twos and threes, but give me a guy who can be a future one.
00:33:20 So Jalen Polk is pick 68.
00:33:22 >> All right, solid pick, solid pick, I hope.
00:33:27 I mean, listen, time may tell that all of these quarterbacks,
00:33:31 except for Drake May, benefited from having a load of pro receivers.
00:33:36 You could have three guys go from Washington within the first two to
00:33:40 three rounds as well.
00:33:41 You got at least two going from LSU as well.
00:33:44 So yeah, you don't go wrong either way with me.
00:33:48 I mean, it was Jalen McMillan in 2022, it was a Dunzey and Polk in 2023.
00:33:51 So- >> Solid pick.
00:33:53 >> Tell me if I'm wrong about this, because I mentioned it as some people
00:33:56 dock Jayden Daniels and they knock Michael Pennock for having great teammates.
00:34:00 And that's true, people do that.
00:34:02 I think it's bad framing.
00:34:04 It's outside of their control who Washington recruited and
00:34:07 put next to them, right?
00:34:08 >> Yep. >> And if anything,
00:34:09 you're a quarterback, everyone talks about this, your job is to make them better.
00:34:13 So yes, you need to keep that in mind and contextualize all of these evaluations.
00:34:17 Who are you playing with?
00:34:18 Who are you playing against?
00:34:18 What was the weather?
00:34:19 Yada, yada.
00:34:20 Are you injured?
00:34:21 But we can separate that as best we can and
00:34:24 understand that's not a bad thing that you played with great players.
00:34:27 If anything, it tells me how you will benefit and
00:34:29 play when we ideally surround you with great players in the future.
00:34:32 It's just understanding that Drake may probably suck a little bit more than he
00:34:35 should have because his receivers were bad.
00:34:37 And Jayden Daniels won the Heisman running away when he might have just won it
00:34:41 normally had he not been with Malik Navers.
00:34:43 >> Well, you also knock a guy like Mac Jones right at Alabama for
00:34:48 having three studs at the wide receiver position and
00:34:50 then he doesn't translate in the NFL because his talent wasn't as good.
00:34:54 But Joe Burrow had Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase at LSU and
00:34:58 he's still nasty in the NFL, right?
00:35:00 And so it could happen, it could translate with Penix, it might not.
00:35:04 Same thing with Jayden Daniels.
00:35:05 It's a case by case basis, so
00:35:07 I find it hard to completely knock these guys for having talent on their team.
00:35:11 >> It's not easy to isolate all the skill set, right?
00:35:13 Like Joe Burrow has had a better arm, he's more creative,
00:35:15 like he's just better than Mac was relating to pressure.
00:35:18 But the idea of like, well, yeah, of course he was good.
00:35:21 He played with all these great receivers.
00:35:22 Like I don't know, you hang in third and sixth and
00:35:24 SEC had offered in the fourth quarter when you're losing as a favorite and
00:35:28 see how you do and not be down your leg.
00:35:29 These guys held in.
00:35:30 So anyway, number 68, you cannot take Jalen Polk, you can trade up,
00:35:36 you can trade down, you can take another player.
00:35:38 >> This is probably where you're expecting me to grab my guy,
00:35:44 Javon Baker, cuz I am the leader of the Javon Baker Appreciation Society.
00:35:48 I wanna take, but I know he's not gonna be there cuz he's gonna get
00:35:54 overdrafted in the second round by Jim Harbaugh, but you know what the hell with
00:35:59 it, I'm gonna take Blake Corum running back out of the University of Michigan.
00:36:04 >> All right.
00:36:04 >> Just in case, just in case he's there.
00:36:07 Look, you don't score 20 some odd touchdowns and yes,
00:36:10 I understand you ran behind an NFL quality offensive line.
00:36:13 This kid is tough as nails, has a nose for the end zone,
00:36:16 doesn't mind taking a beating at the line of scrimmage,
00:36:18 can still kick it to the outside.
00:36:20 And when you put up as many 225 pound bench presses as the tackle that's gonna go
00:36:25 first overall in the draft, I will take that kind of strength.
00:36:29 That means you're not gonna take any F from the rest of the ASE, so
00:36:33 I would love to see this kid.
00:36:35 >> Anyone can do that with the strength coaches of Michigan.
00:36:37 I mean, anyone can produce with those elite coaches, you know what I mean?
00:36:40 >> [LAUGH]
00:36:41 >> That's how it's gonna be.
00:36:41 >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:36:43 Yeah, it's cuz he was drinking all that Fairlife milk there with high bar.
00:36:46 >> Yeah. >> I mean, I've got Michigan in the family.
00:36:49 I've watched a kid for years.
00:36:50 I'm a huge fan.
00:36:51 And I would just, I don't know if Ramondre's gonna resign.
00:36:55 I mean, we got Gibson for a couple years, but tell me this, for anyone's like, well,
00:36:59 we got Gibson and Mondre, we got other needs.
00:37:01 How can anyone that just can score the football, that's all I want.
00:37:05 Leguette can score all over the place cuz you can use them in a number of ways at
00:37:08 wide receiver.
00:37:10 Corum you can do a ton with as well.
00:37:11 I need positional versatility.
00:37:13 And Calhan, Catholic, I need people that are just gonna maybe, just maybe keep
00:37:17 opposing defensive coordinators up at night or
00:37:19 at least make them second guess what the Patriots are gonna do.
00:37:23 >> He's just a gamer.
00:37:24 He's just a really good football player.
00:37:25 And that's what you need here.
00:37:26 You need to add talent anywhere you can, good football players.
00:37:29 68, maybe a little high.
00:37:31 But again, you don't know when the run on running backs is gonna start.
00:37:34 So maybe you have to take him at 68.
00:37:37 I'm fine with it.
00:37:37 It's running back is a sneaky need to.
00:37:39 Ramond is going into a contract here.
00:37:42 Gibson is not gonna be a bell cow.
00:37:43 So you need to add to that portion of the roster.
00:37:47 So I like Blake Corum here too.
00:37:48 >> It's a little high for my liking, but I get the love for Blake Corum.
00:37:53 I mean, the contact balance is absurd.
00:37:54 Like you're just not knocking that dude over unless you're bringing all of your
00:37:57 weight all at the same time.
00:37:59 I worry about the tread and his tires.
00:38:01 I want to see a little bit more pass catcher, but
00:38:03 like the measurables are there.
00:38:05 The level of competition, all that different stuff.
00:38:06 But you're not worried about him getting low enough or sticking his nose in and
00:38:10 third and one or at the goal line.
00:38:11 Like he's a pretty well rounded runner.
00:38:13 My pick is going to be the obvious one, Patrick Paul, up and to tackle Houston.
00:38:18 He's a little high cut.
00:38:20 You're banking on the athleticism at this point.
00:38:22 He was not a shutdown pass protector, and
00:38:26 I don't think he's a road grader in the run game.
00:38:28 But there are enough traits here, again,
00:38:30 in the third round where someone's gonna have a hole in their game.
00:38:32 I'm banking Scott Peters gets that dog out of them.
00:38:35 Because again, this is not necessarily Scott Peters pick for
00:38:38 the little that I know about Scott Peters,
00:38:40 who I know was putting his hands on guys in the meeting rooms.
00:38:44 And kind of wrestling with them when they met at the combine, right?
00:38:47 Like, I don't know how Patrick Paul liked that if they met.
00:38:49 But the point is here, develop him, work on that, get the grit in there,
00:38:54 down to down to down.
00:38:55 Because I just think for the guys left, like Blake Fisher was right tackled,
00:38:58 Notre Dame, might be able to play the other side.
00:39:01 He's fine, maybe you can get him in the fourth round.
00:39:03 For me, my picks, and we'll recap here, and
00:39:05 then speed through the fourth round, Jane Daniels, Latt McConkie, Patrick Paul.
00:39:10 Mostly big school guys, I just think it makes too much sense not to take him here.
00:39:14 Any objections?
00:39:15 >> No, that's chalk, man.
00:39:18 That's a solid pick.
00:39:19 I mean, he could turn into a plus level starter, and the Patriots have had a lot
00:39:22 of luck with tackles in the last 20 years.
00:39:24 Going in the second round with a kid from Purdue named Matty Light, and
00:39:27 a kid from Houston by the name of Sebastian Bulma.
00:39:30 So good on you.
00:39:32 All right, I just read down my draft.
00:39:34 Recap, yours, Fitzsimmons, and Kedlec.
00:39:36 >> Okay, I had an 11, Oluf Ashanu, and 23, Michael Penix,
00:39:40 cuz I traded out of third overall.
00:39:42 And I'm still carrying a first into next year, but I don't get to use it today.
00:39:45 34th overall wide receiver, Xavier Leggett,
00:39:47 out of the University of South Carolina, go Cox.
00:39:50 And 68th overall running back, Blake Corum from Michigan, go blue.
00:39:54 >> Pick three, Drake May, chalk as ever.
00:39:58 34, Jordan Morgan tried to get Iuke, the guys didn't let it happen.
00:40:03 And then pick 68, Jalen Polk, wide receiver out of Washington.
00:40:06 So we hit on the top three needs with the top three picks.
00:40:09 >> Excellent, all right, leading off the fourth round,
00:40:11 I have FSU cornerback Jerrion Jones.
00:40:14 He's the guy who's sticking up in man to man.
00:40:15 I think the level of competition is encouraging, measurables are there.
00:40:19 Again, you're talking about fourth round picks.
00:40:20 There are no perfect prospects anywhere, which I think people forget,
00:40:23 especially when we talk about quarterbacks.
00:40:25 And at the top of the draft, but
00:40:27 especially at any other position at the start of day three.
00:40:31 What's interesting to me is how much they might maneuver in this area.
00:40:34 Because it's consensus that the players in the sixth and
00:40:37 seventh rounds are gonna be lower caliber than past years.
00:40:41 Because those players just stayed in college, made more NIL money, and
00:40:44 developed.
00:40:44 So I think the Patriots might make multiple picks here.
00:40:47 If they make one, I would like to see Jerrion Jones a corner at FSU.
00:40:50 >> Cornerbacks, I like it.
00:40:55 >> It's it.
00:40:56 >> All right, I am going to address one final need on the New England Patriots.
00:41:02 It's funny because you would have thought this would have been a position of
00:41:06 great depth.
00:41:06 But you've got one guy on a transition tag who's unhappy.
00:41:10 You've got another great cornerback, a great safety that retired.
00:41:14 I don't know what they're gonna be doing with Marte Mapu.
00:41:16 And as much as I love all of these, bring in the thunder, violence for
00:41:19 breakfast, box safety, linebacker, hybrid type of guys.
00:41:23 I'm gonna need somebody that can just roam the backfield.
00:41:25 So I'm gonna go for some place you don't usually think of for defense.
00:41:29 I'm gonna go with D'Adrian Taylor Demerson, safety out of Texas Tech with pick 102.
00:41:34 Because the Patriots could use a little extra back end help,
00:41:36 something that they didn't address in free agency.
00:41:38 So now we go in the draft.
00:41:39 >> Texas Tech's defensive backs, I don't think have violence for breakfast.
00:41:44 I think they have burnt toast and stare at it and go, this must just be a mirror.
00:41:49 But that's good.
00:41:50 I think it's a point that's been missed.
00:41:52 They need a traditional free safety, someone who can roam back there.
00:41:55 Unlock all of the coverages in there that they have with Devin here for years and
00:41:58 years.
00:41:59 All right, Cadillac, finish this off.
00:42:00 >> Yeah, we're all on the same page as far as the fourth rounder being
00:42:04 a defensive back.
00:42:05 Because cornerback is another sneaky need here.
00:42:07 Yeah, you have Gonzalez on one side.
00:42:09 But things really collapsed last season with the Jack Jones,
00:42:13 JC Jackson stuff.
00:42:14 And then Marcus Jones gets hurt and he's still, you don't know what he is, right?
00:42:19 And so I'm taking another corner and I'm taking Cam Hart out of Notre Dame.
00:42:24 He is 6'2", he is 200 pounds.
00:42:26 You mentioned sticky from your guy, Andrew.
00:42:29 He is the same here in Cam Hart.
00:42:31 He hasn't picked off a ball since 2021.
00:42:33 So a little bit of maybe a red flag, but
00:42:35 also that's just because he's a lockdown corner.
00:42:37 He can play on the outside.
00:42:39 From watching him, his play recognition is phenomenal.
00:42:42 He just has the instincts.
00:42:44 And I think that's just from being a veteran in South Bend for a while.
00:42:48 So I'm taking Cam Hart, cornerback out of Notre Dame.
00:42:50 >> Solid pick.
00:42:52 >> Very nice.
00:42:53 >> All right, we are not gonna go any further because we like to keep our
00:42:56 listeners around here.
00:42:58 If we will go deeper into the fifth and sixth and seventh rounds,
00:43:01 I do wanna wrap up really quickly one bold draft prediction from you both.
00:43:04 It could be related to something we said, completely unrelated.
00:43:07 And then Fitzy make a pitch for Pats and
00:43:09 Pines which I talked about in this podcast, but it's coming up on April 18th.
00:43:13 >> Absolutely, Mike, you go first.
00:43:15 I love your ears are the hottest in pod takes.
00:43:18 >> My bold prediction is something that I tried to do and
00:43:20 I'm still bitter about getting shut down for it.
00:43:22 The Patriots on draft weekend make a trade for
00:43:25 a bona fide number one wide receiver.
00:43:27 Whether it be T Higgins, whether it be Brandon Iuke, they make something happen
00:43:32 and they get the true number one for Drake May that they take with the number three
00:43:36 pick so go get your bona fide number one.
00:43:38 >> I like it in that I think the price came down for
00:43:43 those guys based on the digs trade.
00:43:45 Now, Stephon digs people forget quietly kind of faded in the back end of last
00:43:48 season but like if that's all it took from Houston and there were some swaps in
00:43:51 there but it didn't get to a first round pick it wasn't a clean first round pick.
00:43:55 Like that, that seemed a little bit more reasonable to me today than it did
00:43:59 yesterday.
00:44:00 >> Yep.
00:44:00 Okay, I could party with that.
00:44:03 My my boy does not excite you.
00:44:07 Not yeah, I would love I guess.
00:44:11 When's the last time we had one 2018 Gronk my god and that was not letting
00:44:15 yourself believe you are Richmond, you know, FC Richmond.
00:44:20 Before Ted Lasso got there, it's the hope that kills you.
00:44:23 >> Yeah, I know I need to go tap the believe sign I have hanging over there at
00:44:26 the top of my on the way out of my door as well.
00:44:28 All right, my bold prediction is the New England Patriots realizing
00:44:33 that they lack both offensive line and what offensive line tackle one and
00:44:37 wide receiver one depth trade back into the first round.
00:44:41 They will likely take Drake May 3rd overall and
00:44:44 I think that they're going to identify a guy.
00:44:46 Whether it's a tackle or wide receiver, I can't predict which, but
00:44:49 I think that they end up making two selections in the first round.
00:44:52 They trade 34 overall, maybe mortgage a fourth this year or next year.
00:44:56 To just move up a couple spots and get the guy that they identify as either the wall
00:45:01 or the way on draft night so patch fans may need to stay up very late on April 25th.
00:45:07 And I think she'll walk away very, very happy.
00:45:09 >> That is out of tune music to the newspaper reporter who needs to file a
00:45:15 deadline, but that is sweet, sweet symphony to every other part of me.
00:45:19 Because it just has to happen.
00:45:20 I said this two months ago.
00:45:21 I was like, yeah, this sounds good.
00:45:23 It makes sense.
00:45:24 I get closer and I can't build the trade just yet.
00:45:26 But hey, it's not my job.
00:45:27 This is what they pay Elliott Wolfe much more than I get from Boston Aero to make
00:45:31 these kind of trades.
00:45:32 Go make it Elliott Wolfe, Patrick Stewart, make it happen baby.
00:45:34 Macro, get on the phone.
00:45:36 Ravens at 30.
00:45:37 I like that. I think that's my favorite spot for them.
00:45:39 >> Perfect, perfect.
00:45:40 Thank you.
00:45:41 >> All right, Pats and Pies, April 18th.
00:45:43 It's gonna be down at Vitamin C Brewery.
00:45:44 Fitz will be there.
00:45:45 I will be there.
00:45:45 Another Patriots panel.
00:45:47 Come down, hang out with us, drink beer, ask questions.
00:45:51 All the money goes to Boston Children's Hospital.
00:45:53 What have I missed here for the folks who wanna come down to wave it?
00:45:55 It'll be our second event.
00:45:56 I think this is gonna be the best one yet.
00:45:57 What do you think?
00:45:59 >> I think it's gonna be great.
00:46:00 Last year we had a little bit of a just plain mirthful celebration because we had
00:46:03 a beer release for me and my buddy Georgie after years of making goofy YouTube videos.
00:46:07 And while I still wanna bring the same sort of camaraderie and
00:46:11 light tone to the evening as well.
00:46:14 What happened with our friend and your colleague at the Herald.
00:46:17 We can't fix that and we don't have the brains and
00:46:21 the capacity to put an end to the cowardice of cancer.
00:46:24 But what we are really good at doing is uniting in Patriots Nation to get together,
00:46:28 talk football, drink beers, and
00:46:29 help the heroes that'll hopefully stop things like that from ever happening again.
00:46:33 So you'll have Catholic there, you'll be there, I'll be there.
00:46:37 Hopefully we'll have Giardi, we'll have Nick Cattles, Field Yates from ESPN has
00:46:42 been kind enough to agree to join the party, Doug Kide will obviously be there.
00:46:45 We'll have Greg, Jerry Thornton from Barstool and
00:46:47 hopefully a host of other people.
00:46:49 Just come mill about with us, then we'll do a draft panel.
00:46:52 You get to ask all the questions you want and the answer is no,
00:46:54 we don't know why Malcolm Butler was benched.
00:46:57 But yes, for $20 you get a world class beer and
00:46:59 a great night a week before the draft.
00:47:01 And you can get tickets- >> Yeah, all the money going to a great cause.
00:47:03 Yep, go ahead. >> Yes, indeed,
00:47:04 to help the heroes at Boston Children's.
00:47:06 You can just go to mysocials@fitcgfy for
00:47:09 information on how to purchase tickets, April 18th, 7 PM at Vitamin C.
00:47:13 >> Yeah, and we'll be retweeting this week, next week, leading up to the event.
00:47:17 Tickets are $20, please come hang out, drink beer, talk football.
00:47:20 It'll be one week from the draft.
00:47:21 Right now we are two weeks away from that, fellas, this was outstanding.
00:47:24 Thank you for the first annual Patriot-Fox draft, snake draft.
00:47:27 I think we crossed it, but of course we'll have to wait two years to see how all of
00:47:30 our prospects did.
00:47:32 Fitz, you gotta go, thank you Catholic.
00:47:34 And I'll see you guys soon, all right?
00:47:35 >> Later, thanks for having us.
00:47:36 >> Go Pats, thanks for having us, buddy.
00:47:38 All right, back to the best coast for our male fan of the week.
00:47:41 We bring in Gary Langley from Culver City.
00:47:43 Though Gary, as I was just chatting with off air, comes back east about six weeks.
00:47:47 Danvers native, wife is from Albany.
00:47:49 And the Patriots, wherever he is, are still very much in his heart.
00:47:52 And right now on his mind is the idea of playing the kids,
00:47:55 which we know Elliot Wolfe wants to do.
00:47:57 And Gary, you are the dad of a newborn, congratulations again.
00:48:00 You have also set the record- >> Kids everywhere.
00:48:02 >> Not a newborn?
00:48:03 >> No, kids everywhere.
00:48:04 We're playing the kids, we've got kids.
00:48:06 >> [LAUGH] Yeah, excellent point by you, that's good.
00:48:08 I really should have let off with that, forget the geography.
00:48:11 Let's just get to the most obvious tie in here, dad of a newborn and
00:48:13 the Patriots feel like they're gonna play a lot of the newborns.
00:48:16 But you might have set the record for longest fan email I've ever received.
00:48:21 And I appreciate the thought that went into that.
00:48:23 But this segment is gonna have to still be eight minutes.
00:48:25 And so I said, okay, when we do this segment, we'll pick one.
00:48:28 It revolves around possible juju trade and playing the young kids.
00:48:32 And so there's no real question here.
00:48:34 Let's mix this up.
00:48:35 Why don't you lead off with what was most on the top of your mind as far as this
00:48:39 topic goes, juju and then trying to get the kids in next season,
00:48:42 see what the Patriots have.
00:48:44 >> Yeah, so I think juju and playing the kids are linked, right?
00:48:46 So if you're gonna play the kids and you're gonna stay committed to that idea,
00:48:50 there's certain players on the roster who are now even more expendable than they
00:48:54 originally were.
00:48:55 And juju falls on that list, and Kyle Thugger falls on that list.
00:48:59 But focusing on juju, you're talking about a wide receiver room that has Osborne,
00:49:04 and Pop Douglas, no question to ask.
00:49:07 And then presuming they may go one or two receivers in the draft,
00:49:11 you're already putting juju at the sixth receiver on the depth chart, and
00:49:14 we haven't even talked about Ty Quon or Jalen Rager yet.
00:49:17 So if you are going to stay committed to the playing the kids mantra,
00:49:22 then you need to consider doing something with juju.
00:49:25 And I know we all want him gone, and
00:49:27 his on the field performance hasn't really helped his cause there.
00:49:31 But before we get into moving him, he does deserve credit for,
00:49:35 remember one receiver lost the game probably in Oakland, excuse me,
00:49:40 in Vegas, and said, that ball didn't really touch my hands, maybe my fingers.
00:49:45 And then a few weeks later,
00:49:47 juju has the pass go through his hands against the commanders.
00:49:49 And he immediately says, on me, I lost the game.
00:49:53 So credit to that guy for first being somebody who is willing to
00:49:57 voice his own shortcomings.
00:50:00 So that's why I'm not immediately jumping at it,
00:50:02 that I want him gone like Devante Parker, for instance.
00:50:06 But- >> What you want is a soft landing,
00:50:08 like they can both go.
00:50:09 You just want one guy to land softly and on his feet and bend his knees, and
00:50:13 the other one you're like, yeah, best of luck to you.
00:50:15 No parachute.
00:50:16 >> And I think in that case, I'm going to juju and his agent and saying, listen,
00:50:21 it didn't work here.
00:50:22 It's not going to work here.
00:50:23 I know you're still under contract.
00:50:26 Tell you what, go out there and find a trade partner.
00:50:29 Some sort of contender maybe, who is willing to bring you back on,
00:50:33 rehab you, and do what you can in a smaller position to perform next year.
00:50:40 And tell you what, go find every team, whether they have cap space or not.
00:50:43 Because I think one thing the Patriots can do is use their cap space.
00:50:48 They didn't do it for players.
00:50:50 Maybe they can do it for picks.
00:50:52 So the Brock Osweiler type concept where that team almost bought a draft pick.
00:50:57 Juju has 7 million guaranteed this upcoming year.
00:51:01 I'll leave it to Pat's cap and experts like yourself to figure out the nuances of
00:51:04 it.
00:51:05 But the matter being, if you pay somebody for their,
00:51:09 you can lower their cap hit to the trading team.
00:51:13 So I'm trying to find a way.
00:51:15 >> Let's jump in there too, because there is a de-escalation as far as how
00:51:19 significant the cap hit needs to be, right?
00:51:20 Depending on whether he's cut or is using just a trade.
00:51:23 Doug and I touched upon this in the last episode saying, look,
00:51:26 if you're gonna trade Juju Smith-Schuster, you're not acquiring a draft pick.
00:51:29 Or if you are, it's some sort of swap,
00:51:31 where you're giving the better pick attached to Juju just to get off his
00:51:35 contract.
00:51:36 At this point, to the point that you're making,
00:51:38 use your space just to absorb crap.
00:51:40 Like fill it, take your lumps now, swallow them and move on.
00:51:43 Cuz you're not using that space on good players.
00:51:46 I would argue just for releasing him.
00:51:48 Now there are some differences and this is just all accounting rules.
00:51:51 We don't need to get into the specifics, but the bottom line is this.
00:51:53 If he is cut or traded before June 1st,
00:51:56 the pain is deeper than it will be after June 1st.
00:52:01 And here are the numbers.
00:52:02 If he is cut before June 1st outright,
00:52:04 they lose cap space and take a $12.2 million dead cap hit.
00:52:09 If they cut him after June 1st, it is a $9.6 million cap hit, and
00:52:13 there's no loss of space, it's negligible.
00:52:16 If they trade him before June 1st, only $5.2 million in dead cap, and
00:52:21 about 5 or so million in cap space.
00:52:23 If they trade him after June 1st, it's $2.6 million in dead cap.
00:52:28 Now that's a $10 million difference, cutting him down versus trading him later,
00:52:32 again, after June 1st.
00:52:33 But at the cost of an extra draft pick, which for rebuilding team,
00:52:36 I just don't think is gonna be palatable for the front office.
00:52:39 >> Absolutely, take the hits now, take the lumps in this year,
00:52:42 preserve as much cap flexibility as you can next year.
00:52:45 But the focus here is trying to do right by the player, but more importantly,
00:52:49 creating playing opportunities for the younger guys that you're committed to play.
00:52:54 >> All right. >> That means juju leaves, juju leaves.
00:52:57 >> Speaking of the young kids, I want your top five, they can be in any order, or
00:53:02 not ordered at all.
00:53:03 It's like, I wanna see these young kids play, and even if they have growing pains,
00:53:07 even if they fumble week two against the Dolphins, keep them on the field.
00:53:11 And I wanna know what you have in them by the end of the season.
00:53:14 Who are those five young players here, first, or really gonna be second, third,
00:53:18 maybe in some cases, fourth year players?
00:53:20 >> Yeah, so Christian Gonzalez and Pop Douglas are the two, just like, please,
00:53:24 please, please stay healthy.
00:53:25 Like, let us just get six to 17 games and see what they can do next year.
00:53:31 The third is Keon White, and
00:53:32 Deetris Wise kind of falls into that same sort of veteran.
00:53:36 Let's move him off to the side and let's have promote playing the kids.
00:53:40 And Wise isn't on that same list as Juju, because A, he's a team leader,
00:53:44 he's a captain, and by all accounts, is a mentor type.
00:53:47 So you almost want him to be in that percent role for Keon White.
00:53:51 But Keon White needs to play, so he's probably the third.
00:53:53 Give me one of the four interior linemen, Sal, Moffy, Strange, or
00:54:01 Andrews, to be a legitimate starter on the interior line.
00:54:05 I still think there's a Boston media cover up that Cole Strange is more hurt or
00:54:09 is gonna take longer to come back next year than is being led on.
00:54:14 But I'm gonna leave that for another time.
00:54:17 And my biggest sleeper, you had Taekwon Thornton in your column as your sleeper.
00:54:23 I'm gonna go even deeper, and maybe this doesn't count cuz they didn't draft him,
00:54:27 but he's still a young player, and that's Alex Austin.
00:54:30 >> I like that.
00:54:30 >> Came in in November, had a really strong final five games,
00:54:35 had one pick on a great play, peeling off the receiver,
00:54:39 and high pointing a Josh Allen pass.
00:54:42 You should have had another one against the Steelers.
00:54:45 But if you're concerned about Marcus Jones and Jonathan Jones being smaller,
00:54:49 Alex Austin's 6'1", he can play opposite on the boundary with Christian Gonzalez.
00:54:54 You may even be now able to move Jonathan Jones to a free safety type role if you
00:54:57 don't bring somebody else in.
00:54:59 But if the season starts tomorrow,
00:55:02 Alex Austin's probably your starting cornerback, and trying to give him an
00:55:07 opportunity.
00:55:08 >> Jonathan Jones is gonna have a say about that, but he's also someone that I
00:55:13 think at this point in his career is probably best served as a utility guy,
00:55:15 right, can play nickel outside, maybe even single line deep safety,
00:55:19 which they've been reluctant to do, at least as of the last couple of years.
00:55:23 But I would throw in Marcus Jones in there too, right?
00:55:26 We're talking about these third year players, Cole Strange is gonna start.
00:55:29 I mean, if he's just unhealthy next year, it's incredibly unfortunate.
00:55:32 Also, if we're going to fill our own time, it's gonna be with quarterback rumors,
00:55:36 not left guard injury coverups here in the Boston media.
00:55:39 And we do get bored.
00:55:40 I mean, I've wrote about this a lot today in my column, but
00:55:42 the point is, if I have more information, I would share it.
00:55:45 And the time I tried to share it on the pod, I think a few months ago,
00:55:48 I screwed it up.
00:55:48 So I'm just gonna, cuz, cold stop here in the Cole Strange run.
00:55:52 But the point is, Strange gets a lot of attention.
00:55:55 Tyquan Thornton gets a lot of attention.
00:55:56 And Marcus Jones is a third year player taking the third round.
00:56:00 Like, Miles Bryant walked, not because Pat's Nation pushed him off the plank,
00:56:05 but because they believe in Marcus Jones.
00:56:07 They only had so many small corners.
00:56:09 And he plays the same position.
00:56:10 It's gonna be nickel.
00:56:11 He can rotate back into safety occasionally.
00:56:14 And you can flip between these three corner and three safety looks
00:56:17 within the same personnel groupings cuz he's the keystone to that,
00:56:20 the little tiny five, eight keystone.
00:56:22 But I think he's a more natural playmaker than either of those two guys.
00:56:26 And that's someone that I don't want people to forget about, Marcus Jones,
00:56:29 in addition to being an excellent return man.
00:56:31 I like the picks about Keon White.
00:56:33 Deidre Price is also productive enough in my mind.
00:56:35 Like, he's not wowing anyone.
00:56:37 And Antonio Maffei of the three, four interior guys.
00:56:41 Cuz honestly, when you said Andrews, I was like,
00:56:42 you know David Andrews is on the other side of 30, right?
00:56:45 No, you're talking about Jake Andrews.
00:56:46 Man, most of the senior media, forget about fourth round pick of Detroit.
00:56:50 Maffei, because his college career started late on the offensive side,
00:56:54 I still think has more potential than the guy we saw getting his butt kicked
00:56:58 early in the season, thrusting into a role he wasn't ready for.
00:57:01 That year two leap, as much as no one's gonna be zeroed in,
00:57:04 binoculars ready at training camp for year two guys,
00:57:07 I think deserves some more attention.
00:57:09 Because Sal finished strong.
00:57:10 If he can push strange or at least give good depth at right guard,
00:57:13 like you got a solid interior because of those picks last year between Sal and
00:57:17 Maffei.
00:57:18 >> No question, Sidney Sal was drafted when he was 25.
00:57:21 Maffei, I think was two and a half or even three years younger.
00:57:24 And like you said, converted defensive lineman over to offensive lineman.
00:57:27 Opportunities need to be made.
00:57:29 The only way to do that is to put them on the field.
00:57:31 And you've got four that you've drafted in the last two years.
00:57:35 And you've got two spots that are available to them.
00:57:38 >> Yeah, all right, anything else you wanna get off your chest before we get you
00:57:41 out of here?
00:57:41 It sounds like you got a sweet gig at home.
00:57:43 Mom's taking the overnight shift with the baby.
00:57:45 So you're free in the daytime.
00:57:46 Use your daytime to your best use, my friend.
00:57:50 >> Well, thank you very much.
00:57:51 Yes, I am so appreciative of what you're doing with Boston Children's Hospital and
00:57:54 making this available to fans.
00:57:55 So I wanted to carry that spirit on.
00:57:58 My wife and I have two Airbnbs in the Bridgeton main area for
00:58:02 those familiar.
00:58:03 It's by Pleasant Mountain, used to go by Shawnee Peak.
00:58:06 And we have two properties there, both with hot tubs, both in kind of remote areas.
00:58:12 And again, would like to make that gratuitous spirit stay alive here with
00:58:18 the Pats Interference podcast and make available to your listeners a 12% discount
00:58:23 between now and leading up to Memorial Day weekend if they mention this podcast.
00:58:29 And then they show proof of donation to Boston Children's Hospital.
00:58:33 And all they could do is reach out to me or yourself and get that worked out.
00:58:38 And happy to share the links for the two Airbnbs so
00:58:40 that your listeners can see them.
00:58:42 But yeah, any stay where we're open on the calendar between now and
00:58:46 right before Memorial Day, 12% discount on whatever the listing price is.
00:58:50 That they can just show to you proof of or myself proof of donation to Boston
00:58:54 Children's Hospital and they mentioned the Pats Interference podcast.
00:58:59 >> This is too cool.
00:59:00 This is look, I've done TV, I've done radio.
00:59:02 This is among the coolest things you've done to carry on that spirit.
00:59:04 And it's not because as I told you beforehand that I've spent summers or
00:59:08 a week or two in Bridgeton on Moose Pond in Denmark, lovely area.
00:59:12 Like some of the best summers I ever had as a kid.
00:59:14 But this is what it's all about.
00:59:16 Pass it on, put your own spin on it and thank you for doing that.
00:59:19 12% discount, not bad also as we approach Tom Brady's induction of
00:59:22 the Patriots Hall of Fame coming up in June.
00:59:24 >> Had to make the connection.
00:59:25 >> Yeah, had to make the connection.
00:59:27 All right, that is Gary Langley.
00:59:28 You can find him Gary spelled as you'd expect, then L-A-N-G-L-I-A-I-S,
00:59:34 L-A-I-S to finish.
00:59:36 Langley, thank you very much for your feedback, your emails.
00:59:38 I know I'm gonna hear from you again and
00:59:39 I think we'll probably have it back on the pot, all right?
00:59:41 >> Yes, and as the self-acclaimed press secretary of the President Tommy
00:59:46 Curran Trade Down team, you'll probably be hearing a lot more about my
00:59:50 preference to trade down over the next few weeks.
00:59:52 >> No, just keep it in the emails.
00:59:54 I hear enough from my guy Tommy, random texts about this.
00:59:56 So we can't have two of you.
00:59:57 Thanks, Gary.
00:59:58 >> Thanks a lot, Andrew.
