00:04 All out with their preparation,
00:06 Sanya Lopez and Barbie Forteza
00:08 for their role as the Bodeville stars
00:11 in the upcoming series, "Pulang Araw."
00:13 And one of their career downs is
00:16 tap dancing.
00:18 Here's Nelson Canlas' chica.
00:20 Literally sweating it out,
00:25 Barbie Forteza and Sanya Lopez
00:27 in their tap dancing training.
00:29 For this, they'll be looking for
00:31 pre-war entertainers
00:33 in the upcoming family drama series, "Pulang Araw."

00:41 To bring Bodeville realness,
00:44 they need to learn this dance.
00:47 The coordination of footwork
00:52 and hand and body movements is difficult,
00:54 which is different from their dance.
00:58 It's difficult for us,
00:59 but the level of tap dancing is different
01:01 because it's basic,
01:03 but it's confusing.
01:05 And there's an incorporation of sound.
01:09 Unlike hip-hop,
01:11 where you can't hear your feet,
01:13 this one, you should be able to hear
01:15 your footwork, your steps, everything.
01:18 So, your coordination should be right.
01:22 Correct.
01:23 Six, seven, and pala.
01:25 And while learning new stuff
01:27 and unlearning old ways,
01:29 there are a lot of prohibitions in tap dancing.
01:31 Yes, they say you can't ballet.
01:34 You just don't know how to ballet,
01:35 so it's okay.
01:36 And the body gets stiff,
01:38 especially in the feet.
01:40 If you do hip-hop, you're from hip-hop.
01:42 So, we're prohibiting ourselves from going to the gym.
01:44 It's prohibited, so you know.
01:46 You know, we'll just eat.
01:47 As much as we want to, we cannot.
01:49 We really want to go to the gym.
01:51 We're looking for a reason.
01:53 Yes.
01:54 [music]
01:59 Tap dancing is just one of the things
02:01 that the cast needs to learn in the day.
02:04 Even though it's an important part of our war history,
02:08 they need to learn it.
02:10 It's a big challenge,
02:12 especially because they will teach
02:15 and remind us of an important part
02:18 of our Filipino history.
02:21 I think this goes to show how much we really respect the show.
02:25 Yes.
02:26 Because, with TV, you can always cheat.
02:30 We worked really hard on this project.
02:34 We had to prepare a lot for this show
02:38 because it's not just for fun.
02:41 Of course, we also respect the voted stars before,
02:46 and we'll show it to the young people now.
02:50 So, it's important.
02:51 Nelson Canlas, updated on the show's happenings.
