00:17 I have now driven the first electric vehicle, an SUV right here, this EV9, that I can honestly
00:23 say I'm impressed with, and that's the very first one.
00:25 I'm out here at Sands Kia out in Surprise with Georgian right here.

00:38 Now, Georgian, one of the things, you've been selling these for a while, and you've got
00:42 about 30 of them in stock, you said.
00:44 What are people impressed on most?
00:47 Mostly, what catches their attention is the light pattern grill.
00:51 So this is digital, you'll be able to customize it through the actual Kia Access app, which
00:56 will help you set it up, and it's just an amazing feature.
01:00 It really impresses everyone, because you'll be able to just customize the pattern of the
01:04 light to your wish.
01:06 That's right.
01:07 In fact, this is going to make it your ultimate swagger wagon in the neighborhood.
01:10 Like you said, the fact this is all programmable, we can't see it right now because it's light,
01:15 but it's basically a light show going down the road.
01:18 Now, if you look down here a little bit lower, you're going to see louvers that open and
01:21 close.
01:22 We've seen these before.
01:23 It's all about the heat of the battery and the cooling of the battery.
01:26 Now, right now, we're still in the 70s right now, currently, but we're going to be up to
01:31 like 120 before long, so all your EV9s are going to have those wide open, and they're
01:36 going to be circulating air.
01:38 Underneath here is a small, what they call a frunk, basically a small storage area that'll
01:43 be underneath there if you need to use something there, you can.
01:46 Now, this is a dual motor, all-wheel drive electric vehicle.
01:51 It goes 0 to 60 in how much?
01:53 You'll go from 0 to 60 within 4.5 seconds.
01:56 4.5 seconds, and this thing, I'm thinking, weighs about 6,000 pounds.

02:02 Yeah, I'll tell you what, instant torque on an electric vehicle, and it's all transmitted
02:05 to these 21-inch alloy wheels that look like they're basically from outer space.
02:11 I mean, great design.
02:12 I can't say enough about Kia right here.
02:14 I think what the EV9 is, frankly, this is a competitor for your high-end cars, maybe
02:19 your Audis, maybe your Mercedes.
02:21 On the side, we also have your electric mirrors.
02:24 Everything's electric on this car.
02:26 You do have your blind spot control.
02:28 They are foldable and everything.
02:29 So if we look inside here, Grady, one of the things that we're going to notice is the fact
02:34 it's got two screens up there, panoramic screens that are what, 12.3 inches each, one for your
02:41 driving, all your gauges right there, one for your climate.
02:45 For your climate control as well, and also for your visual on your blind spots.
02:52 You'll have the blind spot mirroring with the cameras.
02:55 Once you put your signal on, you should be able to see everything that's around you,
03:00 as well as sensors picking up the cars passing you by or you passing other cars by, including
03:06 them switching lanes.
03:08 So let's go ahead and take a look into the back here, because this is kind of the meat
03:11 and potatoes right back here.
03:13 So you open it up, the first thing you're going to notice is the right side seats, we
03:17 folded flat.
03:18 So if you need to haul something, maybe some two-by-fours or something, but you still have
03:23 a couple of passengers, you do have the room for that.
03:26 Now the biggest thing that impressed me was the 270 mile range on this vehicle, because
03:32 that's livable for me.
03:33 That's right.
03:34 On a full charge, you will get that range to it.
03:38 Now of course that all depends on how you drive it as well, which you do have different
03:41 modes to drive it.
03:42 So if you want to reach that maximum, we'll show you how to use it into your normal drive.
03:47 Eco mode.
03:48 Eco mode, or you can go into your sports mode, which literally will change the personality
03:52 of the car.
03:53 You will literally feel the torque, that instant torque, onto your acceleration.
03:58 That's right, and that's all about power for sure, but talk about entertainment right here
04:01 now.
04:02 This is how Kia actually draws power from the car, and you'll see it plugs right into the
04:07 charging port, and then you'll see down under here, there's a 115 volt plug right here that
04:14 you can plug your cooler, your blender, whatever you want to into that, and it's going to give
04:19 you the ability to do it.
04:20 Now I caution everybody on that, don't use all your power making drinks or whatever you're
04:24 doing with it to make sure you can still get home, because that's always an issue.
04:29 So MSRP on this car is $78,430.
