The 1964 FA Cup Final offered up an intriguing contest between West Ham United, who were bidding to win the Cup for the 1st time in their history, and 2nd Division Preston North End, who 3 years after being relegated from the Top Flight were bidding to cause an upset in the final, and win their 3rd FA Cup. The Hammers were favourites with the critics, who loved their style of play and star players, which included Geoff Hurst, Ronnie Boyce, Johnny Byrne and were captained by golden boy Bobby Moore. Preston, however, had their own star in the making in 18 year old Howard Kendall, and in this game would make a name for himself in a final that would prove excting and dramatic. This 1st half in particular would look set to upset the form book...
