Bihar Bridge Collapse: One Dead, Nine Injured As Under-Construction Bridge Collapses In Supaul

One person was killed and nine others were left injured after a portion of an under-construction bridge in Bihar’s Supaul district collapsed on March 22. Kaushal Kumar, the District Magistrate of Supaul, confirmed the development to IANS. Kumar said that the injured were admitted to a Sadar hospital and rescue operations were underway. The 10.2 km-long bridge was being constructed by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) over the Koshi river between Bheja in Madhubani and Bakaur in Supaul district, reported PTI. NHAI Regional Officer YB Singh told PTI that 10 labourers were trapped under the debris after the accident. Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha said that an inquiry has been ordered. Sinha, who holds the Road Construction portfolio, added that action will be taken against those responsible for the incident. Watch the video to know more.
