00:16 The time has now come for us all to do more.

00:20 From this evening I must give the British people a very simple instruction.

00:25 You must stay at home.

00:28 The following day Sheffield became a ghost town as people followed the new rules.

00:34 All non-essential shops were ordered to close,

00:39 including restaurants, pubs, bars and cafes.

00:45 All schools were closed.

00:48 The UK was under full lockdown with people only able to leave the house for work,

00:54 essential shopping, medical reasons and one period of exercise per day.

01:00 We all started to work from home if we could do, and that included the team at the Star.

01:26 As the weeks went on, times became tough.

01:31 Coronavirus cases increased and more and more people became very ill with the death rate increasing day by day.

01:38 But through dark times, we came together as a nation.

01:42 Sarah Jane Clark, who alongside colleagues at Bridgedale House Dementia Care Home in Sheffield,

01:49 left her family and went into lockdown with vulnerable residents to protect them from deadly coronavirus.

01:55 We clapped for carers on a Thursday.

02:51 I'm missing like the chilled out kind of pub trips.

02:54 Oh, 2020 has all been about change and pivoting everything really.

02:58 Quite fatigued and tired and fed up with it all.

03:01 We had more time with our families.

03:03 So I did struggle at first, certainly the first two, three weeks, but luckily my partner, who is amazing, just said,

03:09 "Right, get a grip. Let's use this time. Let's be positive."

03:12 For me, I'm a key worker. I work in a primary school, so I'm still going to work, but my now husband has been furloughed.

03:19 So it's a very sort of, I'm seeing both sides of it.

03:22 Today, we remember the lives lost in Sheffield to coronavirus.
