Occurred on Sept 2022 / Queensland, Australia

: "Off the far North Queensland coast of Australia, while out on a fishing trip. A friend and I spotted something in the distance first thought to be a tiger shark on the surface but as it approached the boat we soon realised it was something even cooler! The whale shark swam right up to us and it even came in for a pat on the head. We also hopped in and swam with the whale shark before saying goodbye. The whole encounter was over 20 minutes and the conditions were perfect."
