The new models will be given special attention to detail and historic paintwork and will only be available in very limited numbers.

While we await news from Nissan regarding the fate of the GT-R in 2025, the Japanese automaker has introduced a duo of special edition models for the 2024 model year. These special limited edition products pay tribute to the rich heritage of the GT-R and the skilled craftsmen behind its creation. The T-Spec Takumi highlights the GT-R's meticulously hand-built engine, while the Skyline Edition brings back the iconic Bayside Blue paint color.

2024 Nissan GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition

Although every part of the Nissan GT-R has been thought out in detail, the twin-turbocharged GT-R VR38DETT V6 engine is arguably its most special part. Each unit is built by one of four master craftsmen known as takumi.

The 2024 GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition honors their work, dedication and special attention to detail. The engine of each example will be built with even greater attention to precise engine tolerances and balancing and will feature a special gold VIN engine badge with red lettering. Nissan says this will make T-spec Takumi models particularly attractive.

The GT-R T-spec Takumi also features carbon ceramic brakes, GT-R Nismo, wider front fenders and Nismo-tuned vehicle dynamic control. Each model will be finished in Midnight Purple, complemented by gold-painted 20-inch RAYS forged wheels and exclusive Mori Green upholstery and trim.

The second special edition model will honor the rich history of the GT-R. While Nissan said the name was inspired by "the abundant beauty of the silhouettes in Japan", it also declared that it was also a clear reference to the model that gave birth to the GT-R. .

As such, it will be paired with the iconic Bayside Blue paint color and Sora Blue leather interior, which was brought back for the 50th anniversary model in 2019.

Unfortunately, Nissan has yet to announce pricing or availability for the special edition GT-R models, but says they are expected to go on sale in the US this summer.
