With Reimagined Interior, Connected Experiences And New Signature Features, Lincoln Nautilus 2024
  • last month
The exterior design of the Nautilus is more sculptural than before; The door handles are integrated into the beltline rather than interrupting the gently undulating surfaces below, but the interior really highlights Lincoln's newfound eye for small things. Interior materials are vastly improved over last year's model, and some parts feel more premium than those in the pricier three-row Aviator. Most of the interior plastics are hidden behind a layer of softer material, and what remains is of sufficient quality not to spoil the luxury vibe.

And then there's the 48.0-inch model. This panoramic screen integrates into a larger wall that wraps around the dashboard and extends into the door panels. The instrument panel, which separates you from the screens, is low and flat, giving the impression that you are sitting at the dining table. It was surprising at first, but we quickly got used to it; the screens blend together and are noticeably less distracting than a traditional infotainment arrangement.

A system called Lincoln Rejuvenate aims to give the Nautilus wellness appeal, using the SUV's panoramic display and available seat massage feature, integrated scent diffuser, and surround-sound stereo system as a sort of guided meditation to help you relax. The system only works when the Nautilus is stationary, as it reclines the seat and can easily help you fall asleep if you let it.

Although it works, Rejuvenate is the part of the cabinet that looks a bit gimmicky. You can also enjoy the massage and scent features while driving, but not with the associated meditation sounds and images, and they are quite effective.

In the 2024 Nautilus, technology isn't just at the center, it's all-encompassing. The headlining feature might be the panoramic display, and the sharp on-screen graphics and multitude of digital features are truly impressive, but there's a lot of tech you don't see here, and most of it is just as important, if not more.

All models come with Lincoln's Co-Pilot 360 driver assistance package, as well as Ford's BlueCruise hands-free highway driving feature. Active noise canceling, an 11.1-inch center touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient interior lighting, a power-adjustable steering wheel, built-in Wi-Fi, remote start and welcome lighting that turns on when you approach are also standard.

The loaded Nautilus Black Label hybrid's $80,345 sticker price is enough to create palpitations until you consider everything it includes: 28-speaker Revel stereo system, 24-way power-adjustable massaging front seats, the aforementioned adaptive suspension, panoramic sunroof, heated rear seats, scent diffuser and exclusive ownership benefits such as free annual detailing services and pickup and delivery service for maintenance visits.
