The true story behind Frankenstein involves the novel's author, Mary Shelley, who wrote this apocalyptic novel in 1826. However, due to various reasons, the work was not published until 1965. Comprising three volumes, the novel narrates the tale of a futuristic world devastated by a plague. Mary Shelley's inspiration for this novel came from a personal discovery during a trip to Italy, where she claimed to have found the cave of the Sibyl of Cumae, a prophetess capable of foreseeing the future. Inside the cavern, she allegedly discovered a collection of prophetic writings in different languages, which she adapted into a narrative describing the life of the last man on Earth.
