#AlgerianPresident #AbdelMajidTaboun officially inaugurated the #GrandMosque of #Algiers on Sunday, which is the third largest mosque in the world and the largest in #Africa. This modern infrastructure, known as Jama Al-Jajri, is spread over about 70 acres, but this area is smaller than the mosques of #Mecca and #Medina, the holiest places in #SaudiArabia. This mosque also has the #tallestminaret in the world with a height of 267 meters. The minaret is equipped with elevators and a viewing platform from which the capital and the Gulf of Algiers can be seen. This mega project costs more than 800 million dollars and took seven years to build. This vast mosque has a capacity of 120,000 worshippers. A very big Mosque is also being constructed in #Pakistan #BehriaTown #Karachi , which will be more bigger than #Jamia-Aljazair Mosque.
