00:10 I'm Prameet and today is going to be a slightly different video because in this video we are

00:15 going to install a performance air filter on the Suzuki Jimny.

00:19 Yes, as you can see over here we have got the TNN high performance air filter and this

00:25 is going to go on the Suzuki Jimny.

00:27 It's a factory OEM replacement part.

00:31 So let's start this video.

00:37 So before we tell you how to install this and what this does, let me tell you a little

00:42 bit about the TNN air filter.

00:43 So this brand has been in this industry for a long time since 1960s.

00:50 And these filters as you can see over here it is written lifetime engine air filter.

00:56 So I mean it once you put it they are washable, you can wash them, they are reusable, you

01:02 have to put them with oil and there is a procedure that how to clean this air filter.

01:07 So the regular paper filter that you get with your stock car that is obviously after every

01:13 service you have to remove it, throw it away and they replace it with a new air filter.

01:18 Well, this is not the case with this.

01:20 You can reuse this and you can reuse this a lot of times.

01:24 In fact, it says over here lifetime engine air filter.

01:27 So I think if you put it, I think you forget after you put it, just clean it.

01:32 Few things over here, it's written between cleanings, it's written over here 75,000 miles.

01:38 That's a lot of kilometers obviously we stay in a very, very dusty environment.

01:42 So regular cleaning of the air filter is necessary.

01:45 If not, then obviously your car will breathe less air and will underperform.

01:52 So again, a few other advantages of this filter is that this Keren air filter, it says that

02:00 it helps increase little bit of horsepower, little bit of torque, increases fuel efficiency

02:06 and also gives the engine a better grunt with the induction noises.

02:11 So let's quickly unbox this and let's see what do we get inside this box.

02:18 So this is again your filter.

02:24 Apart from that, you get some stickers that is K&N and also says do not discard over here.

02:32 So yeah, it again says a lifetime warranty.

02:34 So I think you can stick this on the air box and whenever you go to service your car, so

02:40 they will read this and hopefully they will not throw this filter out.

02:43 So you can tell them and you also got a sticker, we can stick it wherever you want.

02:47 And then there is a special message.

02:49 This is over here.

02:50 So this is to claim your warranty.

03:10 And behind if you see you have a few notes over here, a few types of filters, high flow

03:17 air filters, washable cabin air filters, performance intake systems and performance oil filters.

03:23 So again, not going to read all of that.

03:28 This is the filter.

03:30 So let's quickly just open this.

03:36 This is how it looks kind of red in color.

03:40 And I'm just holding it with the plastic because there is the filter oil.

03:44 I don't want to get them directly on my hands.

03:47 And it's I think completely made of rubber silicon.

03:51 The stock filter is pretty hard.

03:53 It has a hard case but this does not have.

03:55 So now let's go and install this air filter on the car.

04:06 So basically to install the air filter, it's actually a very simple process.

04:11 It's a DIY process.

04:13 So you have to open the hood of your car and after opening the hood of your car, you will

04:18 have to locate your air box.

04:19 Now there are two ways that the air box is closed.

04:23 One is you have the air box closed with the nuts and the bolts.

04:27 So you can either use a ratchet or a screwdriver to unhook it and over here in the Jimny, it's

04:32 a very simple case.

04:34 So you just have to unhook these clamps and there are four of them.

04:38 After unhooking them, you take this box out.

04:42 After taking that box out, what you do is this is how the factory filter comes out.

04:47 It's a straight process, nothing.

04:48 So this is how the factory filter looks like.

04:51 And after that, you just replace it with the K&N air filter.

04:55 There are two clamps at the end of the box.

04:59 You have to slot them in and after you have slotted them in, they will perfectly fit.

05:04 After that, you just clamp it on and we are good to go.

05:12 So now that we have installed our K&N air filter in the car, we will now check out how

05:18 it sounds.

05:19 So first, this is how the car sounds on the stock air filter.

05:33 And this is how it sounds after installing the K&N air filter.

05:46 Well not much of a difference, I would say as far as the sound is concerned, but little

05:53 gruntier than before.

05:55 I don't know, maybe I'm hearing it.

05:58 But anyway, let's now check it out.

06:00 Let's drive the car and see whether this has slightly increased the power or the torque

06:09 or the mileage.

06:10 So let's go drive the car and let's find that out.

06:23 So now that we have driven the car after installing the K&N high-performance air filter, we can

06:30 definitely say that the car has become slightly peppier.

06:33 Obviously, I cannot assure you how many horsepowers have the Jimny gained because it's an actually

06:39 aspirated engine and stock figures on the Jimny are around 104bhp and 134nm of peak

06:46 torque.

06:47 Mine is a manual, you can also have it with an automatic.

06:51 So I think if what this says is around 2-3bhp and around 3-4nm of peak torque, if that has

06:57 happened, so my Jimny power has now increased from 104 to 106-107 and from 134 to around

07:04 say 138-137-138nm of peak torque.

07:10 Again, cannot promise these numbers are true because not dyno tested, but definitely one

07:16 thing that I can say that the low-end torque has increased.

07:19 The throttle response now feels slightly more peppier.

07:22 I think because of the way the air is now flowing, the factory filter has a lot of restrictions

07:29 in it.

07:30 Now, that is where this filter comes in place and I think that has made a huge difference.

07:35 In the next video, what we'll do is we will do a 0-100 test in the stock air filter and

07:41 then we will put this filter back in and we will do a 0-100 test again and we will see

07:47 if this has helped increase the 0-100 timings.

07:52 If yes, then definitely this is worth it and again, it's a very simple process and you

08:00 should definitely have one of these in your cars because, I mean, yeah, they look good,

08:05 they sound good, they definitely perform better and as far as mileage is concerned, I noticed

08:10 one thing that I have increased around 1.2-1.4km/L within the city, so I think on the highway,

08:18 when I will take the car out on the highway sometime, I will definitely make a video on

08:22 that and tell you if the mileage has increased after installing this filter.
