Episode 1: Introduction to Parenting | Parent-Child Development by RareErth Productions

An episode which introduces the fundamentals of parenting, and sets the pace for what you can learn from the rest of the module.

In this series of four videos featuring Manoj Radhakrishna, host at RareErth podcast, you’ll get to explore different aspects of parenting, which are useful for soon-to-be-parents as well as experienced ones with young/teenage children of their own. These tutorials are based on your coach’s personal experience raising a 9-year-old daughter, along with extensive research and interviews conducted with other parents.

To begin, there’s a secret that you need to understand and accept – there is no one way or method when it comes to parenting. Every child is unique (in terms of personality and perspective), which is why it makes little sense to go with a one-size-fits-all approach.

Every person we’ve interacted with is learning as they go along, and constantly working on becoming a better parent. That being said, what you get from this module is a set of universal principles and human behaviour perspectives that seem to work in real life.

They include ideas that many parents have found useful. And some ideas that you really need to start thinking about. As you explore them, you may even discover better ways to go about this than what we have described. The important thing is, this module enables you to begin that journey towards better parenting.

Your coach also hints at 3 points of wisdom related to parenting, that surprisingly, his young daughter shared with him. These would be revealed in later episodes, so stick around.

In a world where everyone is busy and parenting is often done on autopilot mode, you have already taken the first step by showing interest in this video and contemplating how to be a better parent.

In the next episode, we’ll look at three areas that a lot of parents approach the wrong way when it comes to parenting. For now, watch the video and get a solid foundation from your coach on how to make the most of this module from Zelus Academy.
