Brits reveal the things that put a smile on their face, including funny animal videos, overhearing a stranger’s quirky conversation and being made a cuppa just the way they like it.

Research, polling 2,000 adults, found half (46 per cent) agreed it’s the little things that fill them with positivity, over more lavish and elaborate experiences.

Being smiled at by a stranger (46 per cent), comical place names (29 per cent) and dancing around the house (23 per cent) are among the top things that make the nation smile.

Also on the list of smile spreaders were feeling the sun on your face (55 per cent), the start of spring (44 per cent) and watching funny animal videos (39 per cent).
