: "When you risk your own life for a baby Opossum. I was on I-95 in Miami going to a doctor's appointment to remove stitches from surgery. I wasn’t supposed to be running, but I saw the baby opossum miraculously dodging death and I couldn’t believe my eyes. Without thinking, I just stopped my SUV, jumped out, and ran towards him. I scooped him up and the continued to my appointment. The more I thought about what had just happened, the more I couldn’t believe that he was not killed. And I wondered how long had he been running through traffic. He had burned his paws on the asphalt. He made a full recovery but became to dependent on me so I built him a big enclosure. Opossums are solitary nocturnal animals so he doesn’t miss or care to be alone. He’s spoiled now."
