New Renault SCENIC E-TECH ELECTRIC, Voted The Car of the Year 2024

Revealed at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich in September 2023, Scénic E-Tech electric completes the Renault brand's electric vehicle offering in the C segment.

In 2024, Scénic E-Tech electric is in turn reinventing the codes of the family vehicle to meet the challenges of its time: changing travel habits, changing aspirations in terms of comfort and safety, scarcity of resources, reduction of carbon footprint linked to transport. It retains its DNA and remains designed to be the main vehicle of the household, that of journeys to go far away on weekends or on vacation. But it does so with a 100% electric engine, benefiting from a WLTP range of up to 625 kilometers and fast charging up to 150 kW to meet the escape needs of families.

Scénic E-Tech electric offers a passenger compartment designed for the comfort and well-being of all its occupants. Starting with a benchmark interior capability despite a reduced footprint, thanks to its dedicated electric platform, its wheels rejected at the four corners, its long wheelbase of 2.78 meters, its flat floor and its compact battery. Enough to offer both space for passengers with a rear knee radius of 278 mm, but also for luggage with a trunk volume of 545 liters. The innovative Solarbay opacifying glass roof and “ingenius” rear armrest complete the “comfortable” range of the passenger compartment. They help to redefine the on-board experience, like the OpenR Link multimedia system with integrated Google, entertainment and information applications and the vehicle's unique sound signature, born from an exceptional collaboration with the artist, composer and author Jean-Michel Jarre.

Scénic E-Tech electric gives priority to the pleasure of electric driving. Its engine up to 160 kW (220 horsepower), its compact dimensions and its dedicated AmpR Medium electric platform offer dynamic and agile driving, adapted to each journey. With its 87 kWh battery, Scénic E-Tech electric reassures frequent drivers whose peace of mind is also ensured by the dual compatibility of all versions with DC charging from fast terminals found on the outskirts or on motorways and AC charging of domestic terminals.

It thus uses at least 24% of materials from the circular economy and is mainly recyclable, compared to Directive 2005/64/EC, at 90% of its mass, in industrial recycling sectors. Each of the 12 battery modules is repairable. We do not use leather or rare earths for the electric motor. An important counterpoint to the market trend, the car is not oversized in terms of size and weight, weighing only 1.85 tonnes for 625 km of range. This represents several hundred kilos less than the average of competitors in this category, a guarantee of efficiency and saving of resources.
