00:00 >> Good morning, good morning.
00:01 How y'all doing?
00:02 >> Doing good, how y'all doing?
00:03 >> Good.
00:05 >> All right, it's being started.
00:06 >> How's it going so far?
00:10 >> You know, it's been pretty fun.
00:12 You know, everything that you thought about,
00:15 just being able to be in this position that you are in now.
00:18 Just to be with all the top guys in the nation to be able to get ready to compete
00:22 and perform and show our skills as a combine.
00:26 So it's a blessing.
00:27 >> Okay, I wanna know your guy, I guess,
00:30 how anxious are you to run, you showed out at the senior bowl.
00:35 So, you're real tensed.
00:36 >> Yeah, I wanna say anxious, even though I'm just ready.
00:40 Paying for it, training for it, so just ready to go out there and show what I can do.
00:45 >> Marcus, there's a growing fraternity of players from South Florida in the NFL,
00:49 including Lamar Jackson, one of those prominent ones.
00:51 You grew up close to where he grew up.
00:53 How did it feel to kind of join him and other players from South Florida in the NFL?
00:56 >> It will be a blessing.
01:00 I played with a lot of guys that's in the league right now,
01:03 especially guys that went to SC with me.
01:04 As LJ, I trained with LJ when I was younger.
01:08 So it would just be a full circle moment for me, being able to see them guys
01:13 when they were younger, back in high school, college, whatever the case may be.
01:17 Now they're in the league, showing up, playing, having a great career.
01:21 And just me being able to get into that stage that they are,
01:25 that's what we've been working for our whole life.
01:28 It's a real moment, it's just a surreal thing to think about.
01:32 >> Thank you.
01:33 >> How many teams have you met with here informally or formally?
01:37 >> I think I met about six, 17, I think, about around there.
01:42 >> Anything surprise you about the interactions?
01:44 Was it what you expected?
01:46 >> No, that's pretty much what I expected.
01:48 This time, I met with teams at the senior bowl, but
01:52 this time it was a lot more film talk, more coverage talk, stuff like that.
01:56 We didn't really do too much about that.
01:58 We didn't really do so much like that at the senior bowl.
02:00 We just did get to know me, get my background information, stuff like that.
02:05 >> A lot of these guys here you spent the last three, four years with,
02:09 every day almost, go through training, you don't see them as much.
02:12 What's it been like kinda getting back together and
02:14 seeing all the faces that you saw?
02:16 >> It's been exciting.
02:17 It's been good to see most of my teammates, old teammates, former teammates,
02:22 like Ladd and Jermaine and AD.
02:25 Those guys, it's just been, it's not just because the fact that we played together,
02:30 we've been through a lot together.
02:31 And just to see us all at the same stage, getting ready to go into the next league,
02:35 and the next step in our life, it's just a humbling and exciting experience.
02:40 It's very exciting.
02:41 I'm excited for those guys, I'm excited for myself,
02:44 just to see what the road holds for us.
02:47 >> Marcus, Jermaine, you were asking Jermaine,
02:49 what's your relationship with George Zane?
02:50 You guys get around with him like that, he gets pretty animated out there.
02:54 >> [LAUGH] >> You don't get to really know him.
02:56 Say about Jermaine.
02:58 >> Jermaine's himself, everybody got a character, he's a character.
03:01 He's a good guy, great friend, great worker, hard worker.
03:06 He's real talented.
03:07 And there's a lot of, during the season,
03:11 there was a lot of, I guess, hate going on about him, I guess.
03:17 What he was doing, but at the end of the day, he's just a kid playing football.
03:22 He don't feel me no more.
03:23 >> Marcus, was it like going up against Terry and Arnold,
03:26 and did he talk to you guys about Terry?
03:29 >> To be surprisingly, no.
03:31 When we played, he didn't talk to us much, which is something I respect.
03:35 He just respect the game, so he worried about his game, trying to do his job.
03:41 He's a great player.
03:41 He's very quick, aggressive, and I'm excited to see what the future has for him.
03:48 >> How do you guys navigate the game, the past game plan?
03:50 >> Excuse me?
03:51 >> How do you guys navigate the past game plan, him on one side,
03:54 me on the other?
03:55 >> To be honest, we just did what we usually do,
04:01 just game planning around how we would beat certain coverages, how we could beat
04:05 coverages at the end, and basically just did.
04:08 It was a play when it was called.
04:11 We weren't too deep into it.
04:16 >> What did you think of B-Mac deciding to go to the NFL?
04:18 >> Man. >> Do you think he's gonna put a good
04:20 word in for you in the draft room?
04:22 >> No, but I definitely accept him.
04:24 Hey, B-Mac, I see you at the Bucs now, but I'm excited for him.
04:29 He's a great coach.
04:30 I'm excited that he got this opportunity to go up in the league and
04:34 get a receiver job at the Bucs.
04:36 And you know, he gotta do what's right for him and what's right for his family.
04:39 So I know the guys at UGA might be a little sad, but
04:43 they got James Coley going back, so that might be a plus for them.
04:46 But at the same time, they might be a little sad with this one, but
04:49 yeah, he's gotta do what's best for him and his family.
04:52 >> How long did you get to know James Coley during your recruitment?
04:54 Did you play a role in getting to know him?
04:55 >> Yeah, as a matter of fact, James Coley was the one who recruited me.
04:58 It was James Coley and Coach Hank.
05:00 And then by the time I enrolled and got up to Georgia, he was gone.
05:04 Monkey came in, so that was kind of weird to me, but I mean,
05:09 he was pretty cool.
05:11 Our relationship wasn't too deep, but I was more closer to Coach Hank.
05:16 He did most of the recruiting.
05:17 But on my at-home visit, it was James Coley and Coach Hank that came to visit me.
05:22 >> Does Coley know everyone in South Florida?
05:24 >> Excuse me? >> Does Coley know everyone in South Florida?
05:26 He's from down there.
05:27 >> I don't know if he knows everyone, but I know him from Florida, yeah.
05:31 >> And Marcus, what would it be like to be reunited with Stray Mac in Tampa?
05:35 And have you met with the Buccaneers?
05:37 >> I haven't met with the Buccaneers, but it'll be cool to be able to reunite with
05:41 him, just the relationship I've built with him over the past few years.
05:44 I feel like he got a lot of trust in me, and I got a lot of trust in him,
05:48 and his coaching style, and I believe in and I trust him.
05:52 And yeah, it'll be exciting, it'll be cool.
05:55 I think it'll be unique.
05:57 >> Is there anything scheduled with the Bucs, or just at this union?
05:59 >> I don't got anything scheduled with the Bucs, but I met with them this week.
06:04 >> Marcus, have you met with the Ravens, and
06:05 how would it feel to reunite with Todd Monken?
06:08 >> I did meet with the Ravens, I haven't Todd Monken.
06:10 I know it would definitely be kinda cool to reunite with Coach Monken.
06:16 Just the fact that I know his offense, I feel like it may be a little bit
06:20 different up in the league, but for the most part, I feel like I'd be able to
06:24 adapt to his offense pretty quickly, cuz he's a great coach.
06:26 He's a guy that he knows really nice stuff, and a very smart guy.
06:29 So it'll be a blessing, it'll be really cool,
06:32 unique to be able to play for them again.
06:35 >> Marcus, what should Kentucky expect from Brock Van de Griffin,
06:38 Pop Johnson, two of your former teammates?
06:39 What should Kentucky expect from Brock Van de Griffin,
06:42 Pop Johnson, two of your former teammates?
06:44 >> They got two dogs over there.
06:45 They even though they're on the wrong side, to me, they're still dogs to me.
06:50 Brock and Pop, they're great players, young players, but
06:55 they ready to work and they ready to play, so they gonna expect exactly the same
07:00 from Georgia, some dogs.
07:03 >> Marcus, Georgia brought in, I think, three transfer wide receivers.
07:06 What about the guys that are still there that you played with?
07:08 Anyone in particular you think is ready to take the next step?
07:11 >> Yeah, Anthony Evans, he's gonna be a problem.
07:18 Tyler Williams, Z, left, but Anthony Evans,
07:24 definitely gonna be one of the guys that's gonna be a nice lookout for
07:29 just his speed and his ability to win one on one.
07:34 He gonna be a problem once he get comfortable and he gets that swag in him.
07:40 >> Hey, Marcus, what would you say about South Florida football that stands out to
07:43 somebody that wouldn't be familiar with it?
07:46 >> South Florida football, one thing to me that stands about South Florida football
07:51 is a lot of people play football, say they play football.
07:54 I feel like if you play football down in Florida, it's a part of who you are.
07:59 Football down there is really, it's the king down there.
08:02 That's what everybody's trying to play.
08:05 We don't really care about basketball or track.
08:09 We care about track, but football is king down there.
08:12 >> So going into that competition, was that better for
08:14 your team to be in the next level and have an outfielder like this?
08:17 >> Yeah, I mean, they got me ready for it.
08:20 They didn't prepare me for it, though, at all.
08:22 Just the fact that I played SEC football, to me, is the best college football.
08:27 So it got me ready for it, I feel like, just the mindset.
08:31 You know, you can't be scared of competition.
08:36 So that was ingrained in my mind.
08:38 So once I got up to Georgia, it was basically like, you play SEC football,
08:44 you're playing the best of the best, you can't be scared to compete.
08:46 >> What would you say about playing at St. Thomas and
08:50 potentially joining the NFL factory?
08:54 >> I feel like it really prepared me a lot for Georgia.
08:57 To be honest, the structure at SEA is very similar to the structure of Georgia.
09:01 The practice schedule, just how the days go.
09:04 It was very similar, just like how we had two spots at Georgia,
09:08 we had two spots at Utah, at SEA, and stuff like that.
09:10 So, you know, it prepared, I feel like it gave me a lot of preparation.
09:16 And yeah, I was able to adapt really quickly when I got to Georgia,
09:21 once I left SEA.
09:22 >> Do you have a favorite memory from playing at the Cribs?
09:25 >> Winning those national championships, I mean those state championships.
09:29 >> Are you a fan of the Dolphins by any chance?
09:31 >> Growing up, I wasn't a fan of the Dolphins, but I definitely watched.
09:37 >> Coach let you call one play, what do you call them and why?
09:40 >> I'm going to call, I'm going,
09:46 front right, black, jet, red, right, no.
09:52 That's a run play.
09:54 I'm the Z, I got to answer, go get the safety.
09:59 And we run the ball right behind me.
10:01 To me, that was a mentality play for us, just knowing that.
10:07 We're gonna call this play, and I don't care if they know that we're running
10:10 the ball, we're still gonna run the ball at them.
10:12 And they can't stop nothing, and they can't do nothing for it.
10:15 I'm gonna go knock the safety, that's what I'm gonna go do.
