00:32 compete when they were coming up as juniors and and that may seem like a

00:35 long time ago but these girls are young they just popped out of juniors a couple

00:39 of years ago Astrid of course with a Freeride Junior World Championship title

00:43 under her belt but it is Hedvig Vessel the first woman to drop in for ski women

00:49 this woman her pedigree in Freeride knows no boundaries there's only one

00:54 thing missing from her trophy case and that is an overall title she wants it

00:58 this year but she said coming back this year she wants to focus more on the

01:01 experience she wants to be open more to taking it all in rather than being quite

01:05 so tunnel vision on the result and it is a brand new Hedvig and a new focus Hedvig

01:10 is dangerous for the rest of the ski women. Well she's on course Derek and

01:14 when she's focused she is a competitor and that was a huge error to kick things

01:18 off. Oh my god. Absolutely mocking. Lighting it up right out of the start

01:22 gate that's gonna grab the judges by the throat as she comes in now onto this

01:26 huge tower pumping into the couloir and Hedvig holding all that speed. She is

02:22 Hedvig Vessel the Norwegian rider really making a statement at the start of this

02:38 section and mocking down through into this next air look at that style in the

02:44 air getting that grab big big vertical. Well the judges categories just lit up

02:50 like a Christmas tree there for Hedvig Vessel ticking all the boxes every

02:54 single landing dead clean as she got feature after feature the line score

02:59 through the roof she had to release that one maybe a little more cross hill than

03:03 she wanted but it allowed her to do that which was huge for Hedvig Vessel to be

03:07 able to link those two together. That Scandinavian take on the cross hill to

03:12 the air getting that beautiful slough off the air and flying through it she

03:18 must be happy. Well Hedvig just catching her breath down there you know athletic

03:26 endeavor as the score dropping Hedvig Vessel with an 80.67 for the first rider out of the gate

03:32 that's a statement from the judges when they drop a score in the 80s for the

03:36 first rider they're saying something. Yeah they like that Derek and I don't
