00:00 I never in my life thought I'd be making this project. I never thought there would be a This
00:05 Is Me Now when I made This Is Me Then 20 years ago and that that happened and I was able to
00:12 kind of be inspired just to write this record, just to make this music for a second time in
00:17 my life to get that second chance at love and do that. But the kind of avalanche that it caused
00:27 where it made me look back at the 20 years in between and what had really happened was something
00:33 unexpected and something I didn't really ever think would kind of create all of the things
00:41 that it that it had. You know, one thing led to the other in a very natural and organic way.
00:47 It wasn't premeditated, you know, at all. When I was a little girl,
00:52 whenever someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was always
00:58 in love. This was a big deal, I think, for Ben. He was watching me make the music and was,
01:07 you know, kind of stunned, like, oh, my God, you're in there making music every day. You wrote
01:10 that song today and that song today. And I was like, yeah, we did. We did this. We're making
01:15 this music. I'm very inspired right now. I don't think he ever thought again it would lead to
01:21 the Amazon original and all of this kind of like film and doc and all that kind of stuff.
01:27 But he embraced it as well and saw it happening. And again, kind of very in from a natural,
01:34 organic way, said, I'm going to support you. You're an artist. I see what's happening. I know
01:39 what it feels like to have that impulse because he's such a great writer and director and actor
01:45 and, you know, producer. Bobby, this isn't about me and you. Bobby, take that out. No, this is
01:53 what it is not part of the script. The seventies are light handheld. I don't care. No, it doesn't
02:03 suck. That's wrong. That's wrong. That's just inexperience that you haven't done this process
02:08 before. I'm sorry that I'm not winning director. If I was doing a musical concert, I was in a rock
02:18 show. I would say to you, tell me how this goes. Are you usually afraid of before you perform?
02:22 And so he felt what was happening. And, you know, when somebody loves you in that way,
02:30 they just want you to to fly. And I think that's what he he really allowed me to do with this.
02:37 What he said and what he saw in me, what he made me believe about myself only comes from love.
02:45 I didn't think much of myself. And so the world didn't think much of me.
02:50 That lined up. This is how it is. See it. Believe it.
02:59 I was like, OK, I've always for better or for worse, have followed my heart.
03:07 I have my instincts and this is where it brought me to. And I'm very proud of what we've done.
03:14 We put all this together. We did it. I know we about we about.
03:19 I hope it could be therapeutic for some people. You know, there's a few
03:23 things that I'm trying to say with it that I've learned and that I wanted to share.
03:29 And I hope that they can watch it and it can move them in ways that the music and,
03:35 you know, the in the creating of it moved me and helped me learn and help me see things in
03:41 a different way. I hope I was able to share that in the right way and that they do have
03:46 whatever experience they want to have, whether it's an emotional one or a cathartic one or,
03:52 you know, a joyous one, whatever they get from it. I'll be very happy and pleased.
