A professional baby namer says parents are now choosing monikers which sound "cool" as a TikTok or Instagram handle.
Steph Coffield, 40, is hired by parents-to-be to help them choose the perfect name for their child, and charges up to $500 a time.
The stay-at-home mum says uncommon baby names are becoming a lot more popular - and it has a lot to do with the increased presence of social media.
She says girls with masculine names and first names as surnamed are all trends to look out for.

Not only does it seem like there are more options for girls, but there are more variations on girl names.
00:05
This was never more evident as when I was looking through all the vintage names you guys submitted.
00:09
Truly, you change a letter here, you change a letter there, the possibilities are endless.
00:13
We're gonna start with the boys, but don't worry, I talk fast.
00:15
Abner, Claude, Delbert, Edwin, Erasmus, Granville, Harm, Ira, Junius, and Justice,
00:21
Leander, Melville, Pleasant, Ransom, Robinson, Rufus, Seawall, Sumner, Theophilus, and Winslow.
00:28
Originally, I was gonna include names that were mentioned at least three times,
00:32
but for the boys, that wasn't possible, and I didn't include every double name, but these were most of them.
00:36
For the girls, we have Adelia, Adeline, Alida, Almeda, Elta, Beulah, Dorcas, Effie, Esther, Eulalia,
00:44
Flossie, Gertrude, Harmina, Honor, Onora, Kezia, but I've also heard Keziah,
00:50
Leona, Leora, Leota, Leticia, LaCretia, Magdalena, and Maxine.
00:56
Myrtle, Myrdis, and Myrdi, I'm obsessed. Orpha, Promellia, spelled different ways,
01:00
Petronella, Sina, Trifina, Verna, and Vernis, also adorable, Yvonne, and then we had Zola Faye and Zola Rey, and I just loved that.
01:09
Big Sister's name is Meadow Jane, and they wanted something a little less in-your-face nature-related,
01:13
with a more traditional middle name. They liked whimsical, dark and moody surnames,
01:18
except there are other inspo names, which I think are amazing, like Bower and Bridger.
01:22
I love Quill, it was on my list. Watson, Woods, maybe I did go a bit too uncommon for them,
01:27
but I do ask in my Google Form, like, "How much name research fatigue are you at?"
01:31
You know, and they put 10 out of 10, so I didn't want to give them suggestions that they'd already considered.
01:36
Bard Alexander, Felding Bower, Gossamer James, Lansing Edwin, Penn Hartley,
01:42
Rodas Leland, Starling Casper, and Townsend Bram.
01:45
Felding is a variation on Fielding, which I thought would go really nice next to Meadow,
01:49
without being really in-your-face Meadow and Field. I'm obsessed with Gossamer for dark and moody vibes,
01:53
because its meaning is like, "Find silky thread like a spiderweb," and he could go by Goss.
01:58
I'm obsessed with how handsome Penn sounds.
02:00
Rodas is a variation on the name Rhodes, which they really liked,
02:03
but I think the two-syllable helps with Meadow and Rodas.
02:06
And then Meadow and Townsend are one of my favorite pairings.
02:09
A few other honorable mentions, in case someone else is vibing with these names,
02:12
Corrigan, Escher, Myers, and Niels.
02:14
Vintage boy names from your family tree, we're doing names from the 1900s, A to Z.
02:19
It feels so weird to talk about old-fashioned names from the 1900s, I was born in the 1900s.
02:24
It's gonna be fun, but I had the most names from this category,
02:27
'cause it's the most recent century, right? So I had to break it up by boy and girl.
02:31
Thank you to everyone who submitted, there were so many gems, I just couldn't get to them all.
02:35
Argyle, who went by Bob, because he didn't like Argyle.
02:37
Beecher, Bowen, Bradshaw, Brodus or Brodus,
02:41
Brynmore, who went by Bryn, Cicero, Clem, and Clement, Quartz, and Coy.
02:45
Press save right now, 'cause there's so many names.
02:48
Delbert, Dewey, Doff, Ewald, Fleming, Fremont, Frost, Green, Hagen, Ira,
02:54
Jewel, Jurgis, Kemper, Kitchener,
02:57
Kilton Riggs, I just had to include both first and middle, it was so cool sounding,
03:01
Lennis, Loras, who went by Mitt, Lowell, MC, and Mack.
03:06
Then we have Maywood, Morton, Norbert, Nova,
03:09
Omer, Pepper, Percival, how cute and funny is Pickens?
03:13
But he went by Rufus, which was his middle name.
03:15
Rawlson, Rexford, who went by Rex,
03:17
Sander, who went by Sandy, Sears, Roebuck,
03:19
whose parents probably enjoyed the catalog.
03:21
Some of my favorites, Selby and Selwyn,
03:24
Sherman, who went by Sherm, Squire, Teen, Thurlow,
03:28
Urban, Valdo, Baby Valdo, Vernal, Vylus,
03:31
I mean if you want something different than Silas,
03:33
Waco, Weber, Woodrow, with a nickname of Woody,
03:36
Worthy, and Zenith.
03:38
Vintage girl names from your family tree,
03:40
we're doing names from the 1900s, A to Z.
03:42
I think I mentioned this already, but we had more girl names submitted than boy names,
03:45
so naturally this list is gonna be longer.
03:47
Andalina, what a great way to get to Lena for a nickname.
03:50
Artillie, with a nickname of Tillie.
03:52
Avenel, nickname Nell.
03:54
I had two Belvas from this century,
03:56
one was Belvedere and one was Belvegene.
03:58
Then we have Birdie, Magnolia, nickname Nola,
04:01
and Blanca Neves, which means Snow White.
04:04
Boots, Corvalla, Celinda, her nicknames were
04:07
Selly and Lindy and Cherry.
04:09
Claydeen, Cloa, how cute is that for a variation on Chloe or Cleo?
04:14
Clo, Dare, Ducky, Idris,
04:18
Filigree, who went by Filo,
04:19
Firmin, who went by Firmina,
04:22
Florica, how cute is that,
04:23
and Gelsomina, who went by Gelsi.
04:26
Glasgow, Hetty, Holossan, Icy,
04:29
Elida, Iona, Ioni, two of those,
04:32
Javine, Karma, Lagora, who went by Gora.
04:36
If you haven't already, save this video now,
04:37
you're gonna want to find it again.
04:38
We have Olida or Oleta, who went by Letty,
04:41
Orpha, Ouida, Pauline,
04:44
Presentine, Quinny, Raydel,
04:46
Retta, and Rincey.
04:47
Zayla or Sela, both are correct.
04:49
Temperance, who went by Tempe,
04:51
Thespina, who went by Thessie and Pina.
04:53
Love that, it reminds me of Thespian.
04:55
Ooh, Tootsies, I'm obsessed.
04:57
Ubandina, Valerie, Vanda, Velma,
05:00
Verabel, and Vernis, spelled two ways.
05:03
Vontella, Wilda, Wiletta, Willette,
05:06
Yedda, Yolpa, who went by Opal,
05:09
Zayda, Zandalin, Zola, and Zorin.
05:13
I know, I shouldn't say I love them all, but I do.
