00:00:00 All right, everyone, welcome back into another live edition of the Patriots beat podcast
00:00:07 here on the CLNS media network.
00:00:09 It is Brian Hines from Pat's bullpen back with Alex Barth from 95 the sports hub.
00:00:15 Second straight day with the show here and we got all the kind of busy stuff out of the
00:00:20 way yesterday with the coaching staff with the roster moves with the retirement.
00:00:24 So if you didn't check all that out and get summarized on all that, make sure you go to
00:00:29 the Patriots be or Patriots CLNS YouTube page to watch that episode.
00:00:35 And now it is on to the fun stuff because it is mock draft season.
00:00:39 The combine is next week.
00:00:41 So we are going to have mock draft 1.0 right here on Pat's be live.
00:00:47 We're going to walk it through all seven picks all seven rounds, maybe more or less than
00:00:52 seven picks.
00:00:53 I don't know how it kind of shakes up here, but we can go right to the PFF simulator and
00:00:59 we are kind of on the clock here as we want to kick this thing off.
00:01:03 Yeah.
00:01:04 So as you guys know, and just a couple of reminders, since we haven't done one of these
00:01:07 in a in a minute.
00:01:12 First off, some of them we go into with like a plan or with a goal.
00:01:16 So like we'll do one at some point where we say, all right, we're not taking quarterback
00:01:20 in the top 100, right?
00:01:21 We will call it the Mac Jones draft or whatever.
00:01:23 Or we're saying like, all right, we're going to like trade like this.
00:01:27 We're specifically going in trading down.
00:01:29 Even if Caleb is there are three, like for the point, this is a learning exercise.
00:01:33 The point is to get an idea of what players will be on the board at what points this is
00:01:38 actually maybe not exactly like this, like with the PFF simulator, but this is something
00:01:42 NFL teams do in the Patriots do leading up to the draft.
00:01:45 I don't think they're doing it this early, but in the weeks leading up to the draft,
00:01:49 they get the main decision makers in a room.
00:01:51 They have other people playing other teams and they, they run through the board and they
00:01:55 say, okay, if we get to this pick and these guys are here, or if we get this call about
00:01:59 this kind of trade and they run through all these scenarios.
00:02:01 So there is actual like tangible relevance to what we're doing here.
00:02:07 That being said, some things you guys will remember.
00:02:09 So we started off and Caleb William's Drake may make sense.
00:02:12 We do respect the board, which is, you know, PFS mock simulator is, is weird.
00:02:19 He and Brian did a dry run last night off the air in Jane Daniels was there at 34.
00:02:24 That's not going to happen.
00:02:25 We're not going to pick him at 34 as good as it will look.
00:02:28 We do.
00:02:29 I sometimes we do one, not respecting the board draft, like super late just for fun.
00:02:32 But meanwhile, last year I bitched and moaned about Christian Gonzalez, not respecting the
00:02:36 board at 14 and they got him in 17.
00:02:37 So who knows?
00:02:38 Right.
00:02:39 Um, so we do respect the board in that sense.
00:02:43 Uh, so we'll go through the picks.
00:02:46 We'll, we'll kind of discuss each one before we'll make the pick.
00:02:48 We'll discuss after, uh, Brian's going to key I'm running the board.
00:02:52 Brian's going to keep tabs of the picks.
00:02:53 So we'll try to reference back to back to this as much as possible in terms of who we've
00:02:57 taken, what trades we've made.
00:02:59 If you're joining late and you aren't caught up, if you put in the chat, if you remind
00:03:03 me, if I'm not going to that enough, uh, we can go to that.
00:03:06 But I think that's enough set up.
00:03:07 I think that's everything covered.
00:03:09 Uh, Brian's got to put up with me for the first time with this.
00:03:12 So you know, Evan did this with me.
00:03:14 Mike did this with me.
00:03:16 You're up now.
00:03:17 We're going to go through the challenge.
00:03:18 Um, we start with, we start here and I think there's a conversation right off the bat because
00:03:27 who's going second is a big part of this.
00:03:29 Drake may or J was now in the simulation we have here.
00:03:33 Drake may went second.
00:03:34 Brian, do you think that there's enough of a belief in both of those guys in the building
00:03:40 that this pick is a quarterback regardless of who goes second?
00:03:46 So if it's down to Jaden Daniels or Drake may whichever one doesn't go second.
00:03:51 Yeah.
00:03:52 Let's say, let's say Marvin Harrison jr.
00:03:54 Goes second.
00:03:55 Okay.
00:03:56 For some, whatever reason I think, yeah, if Chicago Hanes on to, Oh, do we just lose Alex
00:04:03 there?
00:04:04 Oh, technical difficulties on draft night.
00:04:11 Let's see what's going on here.
00:04:14 Taylor, we might have to call you in from the chat.
00:04:17 Oh, hang with us all.
00:04:26 He's back.
00:04:27 Oh, and he's gone.
00:04:28 No, I'm back.
00:04:29 They don't, they don't want me making the pick.
00:04:31 Fine.
00:04:32 I don't know what that was.
00:04:34 Of course this is the show.
00:04:35 Hang on.
00:04:36 Let me, let me share the, uh, let me share the draft board and we're off and running.
00:04:40 Let's hope that doesn't happen to the, the Patriots and they don't get the, the pick
00:04:43 it on time.
00:04:44 Seriously.
00:04:45 Um, all right, so that should be good.
00:04:48 There we go.
00:04:49 All right.
00:04:50 So sorry, we were saying, okay.
00:04:51 Uh, yeah.
00:04:52 If like something happens in Chicago, keeps Justin Fields and Marvin Harrison, or, or
00:04:58 maybe Cliff loves Sam Howell or something and it comes down and you have both Drake
00:05:04 may and Jade and Daniels on the board at three, I think at least, you know, the new England
00:05:09 regime, I think one of them, they'll like one of them enough to be convinced.
00:05:13 Uh, if they're both there and they have the option at both of them.
00:05:15 So yeah, I would expect a quarterback if they're, if definitely if they're both still on the
00:05:19 board.
00:05:20 Okay.
00:05:21 So we're, we're sitting here in the draft room and again, our job is to do, we're not
00:05:25 doing what we would do.
00:05:26 We might do one of those mocks, but this, the goal of this is to project what the Patriots
00:05:29 will do.
00:05:30 If it was to us, it would be Tori Taylor.
00:05:33 Exactly.
00:05:34 Exactly.
00:05:35 Um, are the Patriots happy with this outcome?
00:05:39 Has the board fallen their way or do you think they would have rather had Drake may?
00:05:42 Um, I think with van Pelt's offense, Drake may is kind of a better fit and I wouldn't
00:05:49 be surprised if that's who he kind of prefers and maybe who Ben McAdoo even prefers, but
00:05:54 I could see them kind of getting excited about Jade and Daniels as well.
00:05:59 Definitely throughout this process.
00:06:00 He should, I don't know if we know if he's running with the combine, but if he does,
00:06:04 he should have a, a really good performance there.
00:06:06 So I could see them, you know, getting their hopes up for, for Jade and Daniels as well.
00:06:11 But where we're sitting at now, I think Drake may would be their, their preference at that
00:06:15 quarterback spot.
00:06:17 Yeah.
00:06:18 The one thing I will say, and I'm with you, but after yesterday and van Pelt talking about
00:06:23 the flexibility of what he wants to do, you know, I look at it and I have, and you can
00:06:32 guide my big board up on 98, five, the sports of.com.
00:06:34 I have Drake may as QB two in this draft.
00:06:38 And if van Pelt's really willing to be as flexible as he said, as he says he is, they
00:06:44 end up with the better quarterback here.
00:06:45 No, I don't think it's necessarily by a wide margin.
00:06:48 And I think it's a margin that could be covered by may being a better scheme fit, but I think
00:06:52 ultimately you end up with a better quarterback of Drake may fall.
00:06:54 So three personally, that's how I feel.
00:06:58 We would not be doing our job if we didn't discuss the other possibilities.
00:07:01 So we have Joe Alt and Marvin Harrison jr.
00:07:04 Sitting on the board.
00:07:05 The only offers we have to move down are for picks 11 and 30.
00:07:08 So we're not doing either of those.
00:07:11 We're sitting here, but just your, your thoughts on, on Harrison and all kind of, as we sit
00:07:15 here in this position.
00:07:18 So I'm still on, I don't think this pick makes sense for a wide receiver and as good as,
00:07:25 you know, Marvin Harrison is, I just don't think that's the piece right now to add to
00:07:29 this roster and build it that way.
00:07:32 And even like, I prefer building it through the offensive line and the trenches than a
00:07:38 wide receiver, but even sitting at three, I don't know if that would be worth taking
00:07:43 a tackle at that spot.
00:07:45 So if you're, if you don't believe in one of these quarterbacks and you want to go receive
00:07:49 or tackle that, that's when I would really entertain a trade down, whether, you know,
00:07:53 Daniel Jeremiah, he had his, his press conference today, and he talked about some of these trade
00:07:58 down possibilities moving down from three to six with the giants.
00:08:02 If they want to move up and maybe get Marvin Harrison, he said, you could get that six
00:08:05 pick and three second rounders.
00:08:08 If you want to move back the board even farther to, you know, we were looking at 11 there,
00:08:12 we had an offer, but he said the Raiders at 13, you'd get 13, two extra first round picks
00:08:20 and an extra third round pick in the future.
00:08:22 So, so that's a lot if, and then you could still be in a good range to get a tackle or
00:08:27 maybe a Malik neighbors or a Roma doomsday.
00:08:30 So if you're not going quarterback, I think that that's my, my preference there for as
00:08:34 good as Marvin Harrison is.
00:08:36 And you know, maybe at six you could still get a Joe alter and old with Shano.
00:08:40 So we never established who has final say, but it might be the chat.
00:08:45 It might end up being the chat.
00:08:47 Do we want it for our first mock?
00:08:49 Do we want to take Jane Daniels at three or do we want to trade down?
00:08:53 I say we take Jane Daniels for now.
00:08:55 All right.
00:08:56 So Jane Daniels is the pick at three and then I'm going to pause it real quick for a couple
00:09:01 of reasons.
00:09:02 I'm going to say, all right, Marvin Harrison, junior one, four.
00:09:05 Tell us about Jane Daniels real quick.
00:09:07 And then we're going to, we're going to go from there.
00:09:10 You're typing.
00:09:11 I'll do the Jane Daniels thing.
00:09:12 So for people who don't know Jane Daniels, Heisman winner, hyper athletic quarterback
00:09:19 put up 5,000 combined yards last year, including 1300 on the ground, 55 combined touchdowns.
00:09:26 He is not purely a runner.
00:09:28 I think that's the biggest mistake he has developed monumentally as a passer.
00:09:32 Especially as a deep passer.
00:09:34 Now he's stronger outside the numbers than he is to the middle of the field, which to
00:09:39 me is the big break with him in May in terms of the fit for the Patriots system.
00:09:43 But he's also proven to be a very fast learner.
00:09:45 The biggest knocks on him are going to be his size.
00:09:47 He needs to put on some weight.
00:09:48 He's six, four, two, 10 to 15, depending on where you look and he needs to take better
00:09:53 care of himself.
00:09:54 He is reckless as a runner.
00:09:55 He needs to slide.
00:09:56 He needs to go out of bounds, things like that.
00:09:58 But this is a guy that is a tremendous runner, not just at the college level, his rushing
00:10:04 ability projects to translate to the NFL.
00:10:06 He ran all over sec defenses, Alabama, Florida, and he is a big play thrower.
00:10:13 He's not so much going to dink and dunk.
00:10:14 If you want to dink and dunk offense, he may not be the guy, but if you pair him with an
00:10:18 explosive receiver and that's part of what's so tough about doing this now and why we'll
00:10:22 do most of our mocks after free agencies, when we have the better picture and maybe
00:10:26 we make a trade coming up here, Brian, or do something like that, you pair him with
00:10:30 a big play receiver.
00:10:32 And now you're talking about a truly explosive offense or building the early stages of a
00:10:38 truly explosive offense.
00:10:39 Anything you want to add to that or yeah, I mean, it's either him or Michael panics,
00:10:44 I'd say for the best deep ball thrower in this class.
00:10:47 Right.
00:10:48 And you know, obviously his, he's just dynamite with, with his legs.
00:10:51 It's such an enticing option to have in your offense, but he did make good strides as a
00:10:56 thrower there.
00:10:57 There were still times where, you know, maybe there's a guy running over the middle of the
00:11:01 field, that's a second or third read.
00:11:03 And he might tuck it in opt to run, which, you know, that might not always work.
00:11:07 He might not always were in college.
00:11:09 He's breaking that for, you know, 50, 60 yard touchdown.
00:11:12 And you're saying, Oh, whatever, who cares?
00:11:13 But that might not work in the NFL.
00:11:15 So, and obviously he's got to protect himself, right?
00:11:18 People compare him to like Willie coyote, where he's just running around and taking
00:11:22 on Willie coyote.
00:11:23 What?
00:11:24 Why?
00:11:25 Lee, why?
00:11:26 Sorry.
00:11:27 It makes me feel old.
00:11:28 That was like my favorite cartoon character.
00:11:30 But yeah, like that's one of the big things he's got to kind of protect himself and we'll
00:11:34 see if he puts on some size, but there's a, is a really good pastor, especially the deep
00:11:38 ball has some good, you know, mechanics.
00:11:40 So I think that's a good pick that three.
00:11:42 All right.
00:11:43 So why don't we hear from our friends at fan duel and then we'll move forward in the draft.
00:11:48 Pulling up.
00:11:49 Hold on.
00:11:50 It's not so easy.
00:11:51 Is it when it gets thrown at you, get your buckets with your first bet at fan duel America's
00:11:59 number one sports book, because right now new customers, $150 in bonus bets with any
00:12:06 winning $5 bet.
00:12:08 That's 150 bucks.
00:12:09 If your bet wins that on all your favorite NBA players and teams, quick bets, live same

00:12:24 fan dual official sports book partner of the NBA.
00:12:32 So we have a couple options here.
00:12:34 Yep.
00:12:35 And the reason I have it paused is because you can't PFF.
00:12:38 If you're listening, let me sim to a pick.
00:12:40 Let me sim to pick 20.
00:12:42 Let me sim to pick a T like, let me pick where I want to go.
00:12:44 You also can't see, let me see who's still available instead of just having to keep track
00:12:49 of it in my head over here.
00:12:51 So the reason I have a pause is do we want to go to 34 or do we want to trade up?
00:12:57 Do we want to trade up into the back end of the first round, maybe find a tackle or a
00:13:00 wide receiver and we can kind of let it play and maybe see where guys fall.
00:13:06 The other thing I'd say when we get to 34, do we want to trade down?
00:13:09 Or I talked about pairing T Higgins with a big play wide receiver.
00:13:14 Do we want to trade 34 for T Higgins, which is the reported asking price according to
00:13:18 the athletic and then a later pick.
00:13:22 So what's really been kind of enticing to me, and I think you might even have this in
00:13:27 your, one of your mocks is trading down from 34 because, you know, I know it's, you know,
00:13:35 enticing to go up and get a tackle, but they only have seven picks in this draft where
00:13:40 it stands right now.
00:13:41 And you want to try to plug as many of these holes as possible.
00:13:44 So if you can move back, you know, it's tough to move back from three if you're picking
00:13:48 the quarterback.
00:13:49 So if you look at 34 and say, if you can move back maybe five or six picks there, get another
00:13:53 top 100 pick and try to plug some holes that way it's tough.
00:13:58 You know, you, you hope the tackle run doesn't, you know, go past you and you miss out.
00:14:03 So it's a little bit of a risk there, but I'm down to maybe go to 34 and see if you
00:14:08 can move down.
00:14:09 If there's a couple of tackles there, if you know, if you don't think there's one that
00:14:13 you need to take right there.
00:14:14 All right.
00:14:15 So we're just jumping right down to 34.
00:14:16 That's the plan.
00:14:17 All right, here we go.
00:14:20 And we'll, we'll, we'll go back up and look at some of these picks here when it wraps
00:14:22 up.
00:14:23 So, um, other notable guys.
00:14:26 So neighbors went back to back with Harrison Brock, Bowers, the giants, Joe, all to the
00:14:29 Titans.
00:14:30 These all make a ton of sense.
00:14:31 That's a bad pick.
00:14:32 I don't know the facts.
00:14:33 They're they have hit really high in this simulator.
00:14:36 Uh, all of a sudden.
00:14:39 That's like switch.
00:14:40 Uh, they don't really need a tackle, but like, this is where, but J.D. McCarthy in for eight
00:14:44 TFF, if you're listening, let other teams trade with each other.
00:14:48 Uh, cause this is a situation where like somebody is going to move up.
00:14:52 Maybe if they're thinking like, we're so fine, we can take Cooper to Jean.
00:14:55 Somebody is going to move up and take all of a sudden who there, or maybe even at six
00:14:59 with the giants.
00:15:00 Uh, so early run on tackles, Fuego goes in the top 10, um, Roma, doomsday falls all the
00:15:05 way to 14.
00:15:06 I think somebody would trade up and grab him at that point.
00:15:09 Uh, Byron Murphy at 15 as a D he's not even the best defensive tackle from Texas.
00:15:14 Uh, it's a Vandre sweats and to Vondra.
00:15:17 So it might be a first round pick.
00:15:18 It's not going 15th.
00:15:19 Um, Brian Thomas, Brian Thomas goes to 20.
00:15:23 That that's that whole thing.
00:15:25 Brian Thomas at 22, the Steelers, that all just makes a ton of sense.
00:15:29 I had my conky 23.
00:15:30 Oh, get out of here.
00:15:31 PF.
00:15:32 What did I have?
00:15:33 These settings on Jesus.
00:15:34 Hang on now.
00:15:35 I'm curious.
00:15:36 Did I, we may have to restart this.
00:15:37 If I screwed up the settings to be too unrealistic, cause it's going to annoy me.
00:15:44 PFF is not respecting its own board.
00:15:47 They have McConkie pretty high in this.
00:15:50 They have him ranked like, yeah, I have, I have randomness like way down.
00:15:54 They have, they have McConkie like 36.
00:15:56 Didn't like, who did he go over 38 range?
00:16:00 All right.
00:16:02 So there you want to trade down, but here's what I would say.
00:16:06 So let's look at, all right, Chris Braswell at wide receiver.
00:16:08 Keon Coleman still here.
00:16:10 Xavier worthy still here.
00:16:12 I'm not surprised.
00:16:13 Roman Wilson is still here, but like Roman Wilson, there's so much wide receiver talent
00:16:16 on the board right now.
00:16:18 We are not missing out.
00:16:19 If we move back a little bit for receiver at tackle, it's a little thinner.
00:16:25 So, uh, so Mattia is still here.
00:16:27 Jordan Morgan, who I don't love Patrick Paul, but like we can move back a little bit and
00:16:31 we'll have options.
00:16:32 So we can trade with other teams, but I like to keep it realistic to just be like, okay,
00:16:36 let's see who's calling.
00:16:38 We've got Washington at 36.
00:16:41 We've got Tennessee at 38, but they don't have a third round pick something to keep
00:16:46 in mind and neither do the saints who are calling at 45, 36.
00:16:50 Doesn't feel like we're moving back a ton though.
00:16:52 Does it?
00:16:53 Yeah, not really.
00:16:55 So I mean, who else do we, well, Oh, okay.
00:16:57 But Washington also has 40.
00:17:00 Could do 40 and like one or 67 too aggressive.
00:17:08 I was trying to just pull up the trade value chart really quickly.
00:17:10 Yeah.
00:17:11 See if you can pull that up.
00:17:12 Yeah.
00:17:13 Those, it might be too close.
00:17:14 34 and 40 might be too close.
00:17:15 I think this, so you're moving down six spots already.
00:17:22 And what was the other pick?
00:17:23 One Oh one.
00:17:24 One Oh one.
00:17:25 That's 30.
00:17:26 Yeah.
00:17:27 That one, that one's pretty even 30, uh, 34 for 40 and one Oh one.
00:17:38 34 for 40.
00:17:40 Are we overpaying or underpaying?
00:17:43 They're overpaying.
00:17:44 Okay.
00:17:45 How about how much you're making me do math?
00:17:48 Oh, I thought you did it.
00:17:49 I'm sorry.
00:17:50 I thought you did it.
00:17:51 I was just eyeballing it.
00:17:52 Okay.
00:17:53 So it's like 170.
00:17:55 It's pretty, it's like one.
00:17:56 By the way, we, we always do.
00:17:58 This is what we do.
00:17:59 We do the math on the air.
00:18:00 We make people suffer through this.
00:18:01 It's like one 70.
00:18:02 Oh, it's one 75, one 74 us actually.
00:18:05 We're one 75 if my math is correct.
00:18:07 Okay.
00:18:08 So they should overpay a little bit more.
00:18:09 So throwing on a future fourth, I think is realistic.
00:18:13 And we add some future assets now, which is I'm all people who watch this know I'm a big
00:18:17 proponent of, I enjoy, like, I think adding a few, I always want to come out of the draft
00:18:21 with more picks than I had and, and that can mean current future, whatever.
00:18:27 So we'll throw on a future fourth there and we'll see if this, so you like this, like
00:18:31 this setup.
00:18:32 Yeah, I'm down with that.
00:18:33 All right, cool.
00:18:34 There we go.
00:18:35 All right.
00:18:36 So we'll run down a little bit and none of the tackles went and only Keon Coleman went
00:18:41 to wide receivers.
00:18:42 So we're still in great shape and Bo Nix is still on the board.
00:18:47 JJ McCarthy, the giants at 39.
00:18:49 That makes a ton of sense to me.
00:18:51 Yeah, this is gross because you just Keon Coleman to the chargers.
00:18:55 That's just Quentin Johnson.
00:18:56 You just made that.
00:18:58 And didn't they also take to PFFs hammer drunk on a Thursday night?
00:19:03 So they're just all, they're just giving Justin Herbert everything back in the receivers,
00:19:08 which is so like anti Harbaugh too.
00:19:11 It's right.
00:19:12 Well, you're going to have to cut all our defense.
00:19:14 We're just going to take all the receivers.
00:19:15 Shout out to the chargers hammer.
00:19:18 So I'm going tackle here or I mean Jatavian Sanders is kind of enticing.
00:19:23 So this is what always happens.
00:19:24 I end up just doing my mock draft on the Jatavian Sanders is enticing, but we wanted to move
00:19:29 back for a tackle.
00:19:30 I, we're not going to have another shot at a potential day one or year one tackle.
00:19:36 These guys might not be day one, but they're year one.
00:19:38 So we got Jordan Morgan.
00:19:41 We got a Sumitia.
00:19:43 We got Patrick Paul.
00:19:44 I don't know if you like Blake Fisher or the guy from Yale whose name I can't pronounce,
00:19:47 but does anybody here in particular stand out to you?
00:19:51 So Jordan Morgan is interesting.
00:19:54 He's kind of on the smaller side, right?
00:19:56 He's got, they're worried his arms are going to check in short.
00:19:59 Yeah.
00:20:00 So that's a big thing to watch, um, at the combine, uh, Sumitia, he's kind of really
00:20:06 athletic.
00:20:07 I like his build, but Patrick Paul to like tons of experience, just a huge type of body,
00:20:14 which they have familiarity with these Cleveland guys and DeJuan Jones.
00:20:18 So I'd be between him and a Sumitia.
00:20:21 Those are, those would probably be my two preferences.
00:20:24 I don't know if you prefer one or two.
00:20:26 So this is where again, somebody needs to have final say, go to the chat for final say,
00:20:31 sure.
00:20:32 Let's go to the chat.
00:20:33 So you can't tell us to do anything else with the pick Sumitia or Jordan Morgan, whoever
00:20:39 gets five replies first, that's who we'll take.
00:20:42 The chat is Elliot Wolf.
00:20:44 Now yes, the chat has final say the chat is the GM GM chat.
00:20:48 We were between Jordan Moore, the two guys you see on your screen right there.
00:20:51 Oh no, we said no Morgan.
00:20:53 It was Paul or Sumitia, right?
00:20:56 Kingsley or Paul.
00:20:57 Yeah.
00:20:58 All right.
00:20:59 So we've got, all right, I got to go back.
00:21:00 So we had Patrick Paul, one Kingsley, one Kingsley, two Kingsley, three, three, two
00:21:07 Kingsley three, three for all.
00:21:11 That was close.
00:21:12 That was close.
00:21:13 But Sumitia just got it.
00:21:15 So thanks to everybody for, for weighing in.
00:21:18 We'll go back.
00:21:19 We'll probably, if not this mock draft, like we will end up going back to the chat.
00:21:22 We will do more of that, but, uh, Sumitia, uh, Brian, tell us about him and I'll pull
00:21:27 up his kind of bio-ish thing here.
00:21:29 So former five-star recruit, I believe coming out of high school, uh, played a lot, a left
00:21:36 tackle.
00:21:37 You can see all the snaps.
00:21:38 So he started a full season at right tackle and then a full season at left tackle.
00:21:42 Love that.
00:21:43 Love that.
00:21:44 Plays both sides.
00:21:45 Six, what does it say?
00:21:46 Six, four, 300 pounds.
00:21:47 So he earned a spot on the freaks list, the athletics freaks freaks list at the beginning
00:21:54 of the year.
00:21:55 So just one of these guys with all these kinds of, you know, physical tools, he's athletic,
00:22:00 you know, which if you're going to this kind of wide zone scheme under van Pelt, you want
00:22:04 one of these guys who can kind of get out there at the tackle spot.
00:22:07 So I like you're, you're banking on kind of the traits in the power and the athleticism.
00:22:13 So I like that pick and I think it's a good pick for, for their kind of a scheme fit here.
00:22:19 So one thing I always look at with these guys and call me simplistic, if you want, how much
00:22:23 they get penalized, because I think that tells you in terms of how clean they are for penalties
00:22:29 this year for Sumitia, only one was accepted and he had two in the first game and then
00:22:35 only two the rest of the season over the next, whatever it is, 11 games, 12 games.
00:22:38 So clean player.
00:22:40 I like, I don't want to be dealing with my offensive lineman.
00:22:43 If you're called for the false start where you get an early jump, like everybody does,
00:22:46 I don't really care about that thing.
00:22:49 Um, but yeah, I, I think, uh, clean besides that, I, I just, I don't want to do with penalties.
00:22:56 So, uh, Sue Matias, the next pick at 40 and then are we going to 68 or are we going to
00:23:01 maybe trade up?
00:23:02 So what's our other picks 68 and 101, 101.
00:23:06 Hang on, let me do this.
00:23:07 Uh, cause we're not going to trade up within like five picks.
00:23:09 It just goes so fast.
00:23:10 Uh, oh, so just Jordan Morgan went the next pick.
00:23:14 Okay.
00:23:15 Interesting to the Packers, which makes sense.
00:23:16 And they remain Burton really high too.
00:23:19 I liked your main, but I don't know about that high.
00:23:21 This is also way too low for chop Robinson and 45 behind who, what other, I guess no
00:23:27 edge guys, Peyton Wilson.
00:23:28 The first round feels like a bit much.
00:23:30 They just have all the edge guys so far down verse and Turner going in the twenties, lots
00:23:34 of going at 19.
00:23:36 So they've just devalued all the edge players.
00:23:39 So basically, which could happen, which, which could in a draft that's deep at that position.
00:23:46 Sometimes logic is, Hey, it's a good draft.
00:23:47 So go up and get your guy.
00:23:49 Sometimes you get the inverse is what this happened last year with tight ends, where
00:23:53 we have plenty of options.
00:23:54 We don't need to rush.
00:23:55 We don't need to rush to pick an edge rusher.
00:23:56 We don't need to rush to pick, you know, a tight end because we are going to have, it's
00:23:59 essentially what we're doing a wide receiver right now.
00:24:02 We need a wide receiver, but we looked at the board and as we sit here, I mean, not
00:24:06 that many guys have gone.
00:24:08 Like I think Xavier worthy is still on the board at this point and he's not going to
00:24:12 get to 68, but the point is Xavier worthy still on the board.
00:24:15 Roman Wilson still on the board.
00:24:17 There's a ton of talent where we were like, all right, let's get our tackle now because
00:24:20 we'll probably be in good shape to get our receiver later on.
00:24:24 So do we want to move up from 68?
00:24:26 Do we want to pick at 68 is the question.
00:24:28 We can maybe sim a little bit and see where we're at.
00:24:31 So if we're going, what are we 68 and one Oh one, we could get right up to about like
00:24:37 Dallas is at 56.
00:24:38 Tampa's at 57 or yeah.
00:24:42 Or green Bay at 57.
00:24:44 So that, that would be our, that would be our trade up range.
00:24:46 Oh, but so there were two guys I was thinking, man, if we can get within range, Ooh, Oh,
00:24:51 and miss the run.
00:24:52 We missed the run.
00:24:53 So we have David Sanders, Xavier worthy, Ricky, do we want to panic and move up and get our
00:25:01 receiver?
00:25:02 This is where I wish we could see the wide receivers that are available.
00:25:04 Well, let's, let's work backwards here.
00:25:07 Hang on.
00:25:08 I'll pull up the, pull up the big board.
00:25:09 So that's where that's tough.
00:25:12 We, we, all right.
00:25:14 So Xavier Leggett, I believe is still there.
00:25:18 Jalen Polk, Tez Walker, Johnny Wilson, Brendan rice, the Washington guys, Malachi Corley.
00:25:27 We can probably wait on some of these guys still.
00:25:29 Okay.
00:25:30 I'm done.
00:25:31 I'm done away.
00:25:32 And then we have the two 100 picks.
00:25:34 Okay.
00:25:35 So we're going to, we missed the run.
00:25:36 We're gonna keep going now.
00:25:38 Ideally they'll sign a good wide receiver and free agency too.
00:25:41 Yeah.
00:25:42 All right.
00:25:43 So we'll keep going here.
00:25:44 Yeah.
00:25:45 There goes Jalen Polk.
00:25:46 There goes Jalen McMillan.
00:25:47 All right.
00:25:48 So we're almost up and there goes Xavier Leggett.
00:25:51 Jeez, these wide receivers.
00:25:52 All right.
00:25:53 So right.
00:25:54 Was that, is that thrash?
00:25:55 Yeah.
00:25:56 So we've got Tez Walker, Johnny Wilson, Brendan rice here, Malachi Corley.
00:26:02 I would say it drops off after that.
00:26:04 I think Cowling's another tier.
00:26:07 We also have Kate Stover's on the board.
00:26:09 Ben Sinnett's on the board.
00:26:10 If we want to go tight end, um, edge could be a sneaky need at this point.
00:26:16 We can probably wait another round on that.
00:26:18 Uh, what are you thinking?
00:26:21 Um, I'm just looking at the ones you're scrolling through.
00:26:25 I'm tempted to go receiver now after, Ooh, is that Camari kitchen still on there though?
00:26:32 Yeah.
00:26:33 That might be a respecting the board issue.
00:26:36 Yeah.
00:26:37 Cause he's going to go, you'd imagine.
00:26:40 I think he's a top 50 pick.
00:26:44 Yeah.
00:26:45 I think that's respecting the board at that point.
00:26:48 Yeah.
00:26:49 That, that one would be really intriguing though.
00:26:52 The consensus mock draft website does not like nobody has done, you know, a big time
00:26:57 mock draft that's taken him anywhere beyond the second round.
00:27:00 All right.
00:27:01 Well, we might've, we might've missed the, missed the boat there.
00:27:04 Your first respecting of the board.
00:27:06 Good idea.
00:27:07 Uh, yeah, I'm kind of feeling receiver after that whole run.
00:27:12 Just make sure you get one.
00:27:13 You're like, uh, so
00:27:14 this is interesting cause we've got two, I think high ceiling, low floor guys and one
00:27:20 high floor, low ceiling guy or Corley if you like Corley.
00:27:23 But I just think he's a little redundant to only get somebody that's a little different
00:27:26 than pop Douglas.
00:27:27 Yeah.
00:27:28 I do like, do like Corley, but I get your hesitance there.
00:27:33 Um, well, if you think Corley, if you think Corley is the best pick here, I mean, make
00:27:38 your case.
00:27:39 I'd probably be between Corley and Brendan rice who, and this would probably be where
00:27:47 it depends on what happens if they make a move at this position in free agency, right?
00:27:51 Do you need your big body on the outside, which is more Brendan rice or do you have
00:27:55 that guy and you can get another one of these Z slot guys and Malachi Corley who's known
00:28:01 for, you know, what's his Instagram handled like the yak cane or something or, you know,
00:28:06 he's all after the catch.
00:28:07 So, uh, which player reminds you more of a Mark Cooper, probably Brendan rice.
00:28:17 I think you've got to get that guy with fan health offense, right?
00:28:22 Yep.
00:28:23 So who are you?
00:28:24 Are you, and we also, let's remember we drafted, we drafted Jane Daniels.
00:28:29 We want a guy that can make plays down the field.
00:28:32 Yep.
00:28:33 Now Tez Walker and Johnny Wilson, they can both do that, but they both scare me for other
00:28:37 reasons.
00:28:38 Neither one is consistent.
00:28:39 Tez Walker had a lot of issues with drops at the senior bowl.
00:28:42 Um, he wasn't, he looked out of place at times at UNC Johnny Walker's just weird.
00:28:46 I mean, he, or Johnny Parker, Johnny Wilson is just kind of weird.
00:28:49 Um, you don't really know what he may end up being a tight end.
00:28:52 Yeah.
00:28:53 So do we think Brendan rice is the best downfield option?
00:28:57 Yeah, I'd probably go rice over definitely over Wilson.
00:29:01 And then after Tez Walker senior bowl week and Brendan rice was pretty impressive at
00:29:06 the senior bowl too.
00:29:07 So I'd probably have rice over those two guys on the outside.
00:29:09 Yeah, this is one too.
00:29:10 And again, this is why we usually do them later and we're probably not going to do another
00:29:13 mock till after free agency.
00:29:14 If you guys are asking for this, this is why like the combine and seeing Tez Walker do
00:29:19 the on-field drills would be super helpful.
00:29:21 Yep.
00:29:22 Really all of them, all of them, Walker, Wilson rice.
00:29:25 But I think for now, so we're going, we're going right.
00:29:27 I'd go Brendan rice here.
00:29:28 I, we got, we got, yeah, we probably should trade it up.
00:29:33 But Brendan, right, this is where we're at.
00:29:37 We want it.
00:29:38 We need to add bodies.
00:29:39 We can't be moving up too much in burning picks.
00:29:41 So we're going to add Brendan rice here with the, with the third round pick and then we'll,
00:29:46 we'll let it go through to a, to day four.
00:29:49 Tell us about Brendan rice real quick.
00:29:52 So yeah, a big body, I think six, two, six, three Caleb Williams is, is top target.
00:29:58 And it was interesting watching him at the senior bowl because day one, he's beaten all
00:30:03 these guys with physicality at the top of the route.
00:30:05 He's muscling the football away from guys.
00:30:07 And then the next two days, it's more separation.
00:30:10 He's putting his foot in the ground and he's getting, you know, separating at the top of
00:30:14 the route and stuff like that.
00:30:15 And I keep going back to watching him do that.
00:30:18 And Daniel Jeremiah was talking about him as Michael Pittman.
00:30:22 Like this is kind of, that's his comp, Michael Pittman, who's someone we're all obviously
00:30:26 interested in free agency.
00:30:27 So if they don't again, get that big body receiver in free agency or before the draft,
00:30:34 I think that would be kind of a good fit for their offense here.
00:30:36 So meanwhile, we still do have one day to pick one Oh one was the last pick in the third
00:30:40 round.
00:30:41 Okay.
00:30:42 But I got a gripe at PFF again because to Von Drey sweat at 90, um, Cameron kitchens
00:30:48 at 87.
00:30:49 There's one other one that would Patrick Paul at 80.
00:30:53 What are we doing?
00:30:55 What are we doing?
00:30:56 By the way, the giants took Kenny Gallivay essentially.
00:31:01 So uh, JJ McCarthy to Tez Walker.
00:31:04 Yeah.
00:31:05 So we got, we got a couple of back to back picks here.
00:31:08 Now there's, there's a couple of positions I think, and after this we'll, we'll hear
00:31:12 from our friends, then we'll reset and show you guys what we've done so far.
00:31:15 So I think doubling up an offensive tackle here is on the board.
00:31:18 I think tight ends on the board here.
00:31:21 I think that running back is honestly on the board here.
00:31:25 You look at the two headed monster they had in Cleveland with Nick Chubb and cream hunt.
00:31:29 They take their running back.
00:31:30 Seriously.
00:31:31 You're going to be running the ball a lot.
00:31:32 We're monitoring Stevenson is in a contract year.
00:31:34 I don't hate, especially with the bat and maybe it ends up being the second pick.
00:31:38 We're going to kind of look at these two picks sort of together, but running back in this
00:31:42 range, I don't hit.
00:31:43 And I think now is when we seriously start discussing, uh, edge players.
00:31:48 I think now is when we seriously start talking about maybe adding another pass rusher.
00:31:52 So to go through it here, and that's too many positions.
00:31:55 So I'll just kind of run through a tight end.
00:31:58 We got Cade Stover who I like for them.
00:32:01 Ben Senate, Ben Senate, Dalen hooker.
00:32:04 We can probably get a little later.
00:32:05 Jaheim bell.
00:32:06 We have one 36.
00:32:07 I would look at those guys in that range.
00:32:11 But I think if we want Cade Stover, we take them with one of these two picks.
00:32:14 Bucky Irving, Marshawn Lloyd, Brandon Allen, I think are all, I don't think there'll be
00:32:20 gone by this point.
00:32:22 I think I was saying more Brown Allen.
00:32:24 I think he'd be gone by this point.
00:32:25 I don't think so.
00:32:26 Okay.
00:32:27 I, now this is lower end for him, but I don't think it's an unrealistic fall to the end
00:32:34 of the third round.
00:32:35 I mean, it's a running back, right?
00:32:36 So you never exactly.
00:32:38 Yeah.
00:32:39 Um, but if you want to say Brendan Allen respecting the board, I mean, I, I take Marsh on Lloyd
00:32:44 over him anyway, personally.
00:32:46 So maybe I love Braylon Allen.
00:32:49 But for, if you still have Ramond, right.
00:32:51 I think like Bucky Irvine or Marshawn Lloyd, you want to pair him with somebody who's a
00:32:55 little bit faster.
00:32:56 Yeah.
00:32:57 Um, if we want to double up on tackling, I know a lot of people like Dominic puny, I
00:32:59 think Christian Jones, is he a guard though?
00:33:02 He might be a guard.
00:33:03 Yeah.
00:33:04 I feel like guard most of the senior bowl.
00:33:07 Yeah.
00:33:08 Another guy to watch, you know, next week at the combine here on length and everything.
00:33:12 I know.
00:33:13 I, I do love the idea of doubling up at tackle.
00:33:19 Yeah.
00:33:20 Um, I mean, we have what, two picks, two picks in the next four here, so you don't have to
00:33:25 take one first, but I do love that idea a lot at some point here.
00:33:29 I'd even mix safety in here, but there's nobody that really, maybe Ty Keesmith, but there's
00:33:34 nobody at this point that really stands out to me.
00:33:36 Taylor Demerson is like a pure free safety.
00:33:40 Is he?
00:33:41 Uh, he, I'm honestly not super familiar with him.
00:33:43 He had a pretty good week at the shrine bowl actually.
00:33:47 So, um, but yeah, I mean three year starter, love that.
00:33:54 I just kind of got familiar with him at the shrine bowl.
00:33:57 So, but so that, that would probably be like the safety option, but okay.
00:34:02 And then I'm just going to do defense.
00:34:04 I'm just going to do defensive front all in one.
00:34:05 Cause they label guys weird.
00:34:06 Uh, I mean, if we want to go defensive line and I really liked Dwayne Carter, um, uh,
00:34:12 Ebi Ogi, I think it is from Alabama had a good week.
00:34:14 I really liked Mohammed Kamara.
00:34:16 He had a big week at the shrine bowl.
00:34:18 He's got a lot of nasty in his game.
00:34:20 Great motor gets to the quarterback.
00:34:22 Nelson Caesar had a pretty good, uh, senior bowl week.
00:34:25 Um, and then it probably drops off at that point, but all right, so we, we've got options
00:34:30 here, Brian, we've got options.
00:34:31 What are you thinking?
00:34:32 Lots of options.
00:34:33 Jeez, I don't know.
00:34:34 Uh, I definitely like taking in another tackle with one of these two picks and I'd maybe
00:34:41 wait till one Oh four.
00:34:42 So then that opens you up either, you know, and there were a lot of tight ends still available.
00:34:48 So I might wait there, but, um, so I don't know, maybe you could work in a defender here.
00:34:53 Honestly, remember we can also move back from one of these because we have that option.
00:34:57 We're getting a call from the one 25 is a little too far to move back.
00:35:03 Yeah.
00:35:04 Um, I, so I, I, I like, I don't love Cade Stover here.
00:35:09 I don't know.
00:35:12 Edge got like, there's, I don't think you can go wrong, but I don't necessarily love
00:35:16 anything.
00:35:17 Look, Marshawn Lloyd here, I think would make a lot of sense.
00:35:22 Marshawn Lloyd or Bucky Irving, honestly.
00:35:24 Uh, I think it would make a lot of sense here.
00:35:27 I think getting a speed back to pair with Ramond Ray Stevenson makes a ton of sense.
00:35:31 Um, it's definitely a need.
00:35:34 The other position we didn't look at that in corners fall.
00:35:38 I mean, Jarvis Brownlee looked really good at the senior bowl.
00:35:42 If we want to just go get a second boundary corner that I feel like they're gonna do in
00:35:45 free agency though, that I feel like is going to be a veteran opposite Christian Gonzalez.
00:35:50 Um, we, those edge guys again.
00:35:52 I mean, I like these two guys.
00:35:54 I really do.
00:35:55 Do you think one of them might fall to one 36?
00:36:01 It'd be Yogi might in reality.
00:36:03 I don't know if he will on this, but he might in reality.
00:36:06 Um, you know, between these three guys, one probably will.
00:36:10 Yeah, I'd be down to go back tackle and then try to get one of those edge guys at one 36.
00:36:15 All right.
00:36:16 So who did you like Bucky Irving or Marshawn Lloyd?
00:36:20 I probably, I probably slightly lean Bucky, but it's not a big enough gap where if you
00:36:27 really like Marshawn Lloyd, I would overrule you.
00:36:29 Do we want the, do we want to, so I think Bucky Irving is a better pair for a monetary
00:36:35 Stevenson, but I think if we're drafting under the idea that we're not going to resign Ramon
00:36:39 Dre, we want our new feature back.
00:36:42 I think Lloyd's more of a feature back.
00:36:44 Okay.
00:36:45 So do you have a feeling on that?
00:36:48 Do we go to the GM in the chat?
00:36:52 Uh, I mean, if you like Lloyd, like longer term like that, and to have a bigger role,
00:36:58 I'm down to go that route.
00:36:59 All right, let's go.
00:37:01 I'm trying to think, are there coaching connections for USC or Oregon right now for them that
00:37:06 we might be missing?
00:37:09 I don't think so.
00:37:10 Cause it was Tyler Hughes.
00:37:12 The receivers coach was Washington High Smith is Miami.
00:37:16 The other assistant, the defensive assistant was UNC.
00:37:20 Yeah.
00:37:21 And like some local schools.
00:37:22 So yeah, not, not really any ties there.
00:37:25 All right.
00:37:26 So we want to Marshawn Lloyd.
00:37:27 Yep.
00:37:28 All right.
00:37:29 I'm in.
00:37:30 I'm in.
00:37:31 I'm in.
00:37:32 Back to back.
00:37:33 Uh, you want to take Bucky Irving right here at one Oh four.
00:37:38 Um, Evan would disintegrate in front of us.
00:37:42 I know.
00:37:43 No, Evan said today he wants to pay a running back.
00:37:46 Really?
00:37:47 Yeah, I couldn't believe it.
00:37:49 Let's um, here, I'll pull this up.
00:37:50 Who's our other friend we're hearing from tonight.
00:37:52 I got it.
00:37:53 Okay.
00:37:54 So let's hear from our other friend.
00:37:55 Then we'll reset and we'll go from there.
00:37:56 Go to day three.
00:37:57 We're also brought to you by LinkedIn talent solutions.

00:38:52 They even just launched a feature that helps you write job descriptions, making the process
00:38:56 even easier and quicker.
00:38:58 It's so easy.
00:38:59 See how many easies are in there?
00:39:00 They're right.
00:39:01 So many easies, two and a half million small businesses use LinkedIn for hiring.
00:39:05 Post your job for free at linkedin.com/beat.
00:39:09 That's linkedin.com/beat to post your job for free terms and conditions apply.
00:39:15 All right, so let's, let's reset the board and then there's a little spoiler up there,
00:39:21 but I have a little pitch for you.
00:39:22 All right, so we took Jane Daniels first round, Drake Mayweather second overhaul, stuck with
00:39:26 the quarterback, traded, didn't we, we traded down, right?
00:39:29 From two?
00:39:30 Oh, I didn't write that in.
00:39:31 Oh, okay.
00:39:32 We traded.
00:39:33 First one of the year, you know, we're working through it.
00:39:36 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:39:37 So we, we traded, do you remember what we traded?
00:39:42 We traded down to 40.
00:39:44 For number 40 and like 101, wasn't it?
00:39:47 Yeah, 101.
00:39:49 Yup.
00:39:50 And then we took Kingsley there.
00:39:53 So moved down to add some picks, got our tackle, and then we kind of got screwed on a one run
00:39:59 at wide receiver, but we still end up with Brendan Rice, who I do think is a solid prospect.
00:40:04 And then continuing with the theme of adding to the offense, we added a running back at
00:40:12 the end of the third round there with the pick we picked up the trade.
00:40:14 How are you feeling so far about our draft?
00:40:16 I like it.
00:40:17 I mean, you hit the three big positions of need, obviously quarterback, offensive tackle,
00:40:23 and wide receiver.
00:40:24 And then you add another kind of offensive game changer there out of the backfield with
00:40:28 Marshawn Lloyd.
00:40:29 So this is what we all want, right?
00:40:31 Like hammer the offense and the draft, rebuild this thing through the draft.
00:40:35 So I think that's a good start.
00:40:37 Okay.
00:40:38 So I've got a pitch for you here.
00:40:40 So these two picks are from the Broncos, 114 and 122, which is worth.
00:40:48 Let's pull the draft back up.
00:40:51 That's worth 48.
00:40:52 104 is worth 33.
00:40:54 So we've got to close the gap of slightly close the gap of 33 to 48 is 15.
00:41:03 Our fifth round pick is worth 16.
00:41:05 So that actually more than closes the gap.
00:41:11 Getting one 46, that doesn't, they don't have a fifth round pick.
00:41:15 We're six round pick, which kind of kills us here.
00:41:17 I have an idea how to maybe get a fifth round pick later.
00:41:21 Mr. Mack Jones.
00:41:23 Yeah, but I want to, I want to do the right trade.
00:41:26 I want to do a fair trade.
00:41:27 Oh, okay.
00:41:28 Like in this trade, these numbers aren't adding up.
00:41:31 No, unless we actually, this, this works on the chart.
00:41:39 I don't know if it will work in here, but this works on the chart, two fourths and a
00:41:43 future fourth for a fourth and a fifth.
00:41:46 I'd do that.
00:41:47 I'd move down a few spots.
00:41:49 So we're going to have a gap between 122 and 182.
00:41:53 Actually, if we do, actually, we picked up a future fourth earlier.
00:41:58 You could use one of those and the trade back up.
00:42:01 Yeah.
00:42:02 So this is what two fourths and a fifth for a fourth and two fifths.
00:42:05 Yeah, I do that.
00:42:08 This in theory should work.
00:42:09 Let's try this.
00:42:10 This, I wish they had a pick and like, hang on.
00:42:13 Does anybody have two picks coming up?
00:42:15 Cardinals, Chargers, Titans.
00:42:18 Ooh, actually hang on.
00:42:21 The Jaguars, all the Jaguars have 115, 117.
00:42:27 And this is a little bit higher.
00:42:28 I'll throw on a future fifth for this.
00:42:31 This is the trade I wanted to make.
00:42:34 This right here.
00:42:35 115, 117, 152.
00:42:36 Actually, the other one we can do that's actually a little bit easier.
00:42:41 Where are those Chicago Bears?
00:42:43 Oh, we'd be taking the rest of their draft.
00:42:45 Wow.
00:42:46 They got nothing outside of one.
00:42:49 They're not going to do that.
00:42:51 They'll get something for fields probably.
00:42:53 Right.
00:42:54 I feel like I'm missing another two picks, but I don't think so.
00:43:00 I mean, I like either of those because I feel like there's whoever you want, probably at
00:43:05 104 here is probably going to get to 115 or 111 and then you move up from 136, but then
00:43:12 you still add that pick.
00:43:13 So you're not waiting 70 spots in between your next one.
00:43:18 So I'm down for either of those.
00:43:20 This right here with the Jags.
00:43:21 So it's 104 and 136.
00:43:24 So we're moving down 11 spots.
00:43:28 We're then moving up 20 spots and we're basically getting a fifth for next year's fifth.
00:43:34 Yeah, I'm for it.
00:43:36 All right, let's do that.
00:43:37 That should work.
00:43:38 Sometimes you just, there we go.
00:43:40 Sometimes you got to call them back and be like, please.
00:43:45 And they do it.
00:43:46 So, cause we still want another tackle.
00:43:49 We still want an edge in a tight end.
00:43:50 I think though, if those are the next three picks here, we're in really good shape.
00:43:56 So let's see who goes more run on wide receiver.
00:43:59 There goes Bucky Irving, Cade Stover went.
00:44:02 So this is where I'd start to get nervous and take the tight end.
00:44:08 I like Senate.
00:44:10 I like all those guys.
00:44:11 Honestly, I do too.
00:44:12 I think it's kind of what we want.
00:44:14 Like Theo Johnson is that big, yeah.
00:44:17 Little tight end, really impressed with Theo Johnson and, um, the senior bowl.
00:44:23 Cause you know, he didn't get a lot of, uh, targets or receptions in that Penn state offense,
00:44:28 but he was pretty impressive.
00:44:29 You know, as a big guy, you can move a little bit at that spot.
00:44:33 So, uh, Holker impressed, you know, I just think back to the Colorado game earlier in
00:44:39 the year.
00:44:40 He had, he had a really good game and then Senate as like that versatility, he can move
00:44:44 all around really good blocker, which, you know, AVP might be kind of drawn to at that
00:44:48 spot.
00:44:49 So I, I like all those guys, honestly.
00:44:52 So again, it's, it's, what do we want?
00:44:54 Do we want a true tight end, a true like big wide tight end, a big wide tight end who played
00:45:00 maybe plays more like a move tight end, a true move tight end.
00:45:05 Who's like a hybrid receiver or a true move tight end was more of a hybrid fullback.
00:45:11 I honestly think with van Pelt, they might prefer prefer Senate just because of his,
00:45:16 his blocking ability.
00:45:19 So I'm honestly, I'm looking at the board right now.
00:45:20 I think bell or Johnson would be the guys we have to take now Senate.
00:45:25 So maybe we wait, maybe we wait and see what happens elsewhere.
00:45:29 Cause we know we have options.
00:45:30 Like we don't have a ton of options to tackle.
00:45:32 If we want to double up, Christian Jones would make a ton of sense right here.
00:45:35 I mean, we have options here too.
00:45:37 I guess Javon Foster would make sense.
00:45:38 Rosengart would make sense.
00:45:40 Maybe this is where we take the edge guy.
00:45:44 Maybe this is where we go.
00:45:46 We go edge.
00:45:47 Both of them are still there.
00:45:50 I mean, I really like Mohammed Camara.
00:45:52 I like Caesar.
00:45:54 Do you have an opinion on these three or I'm most familiar with Camara.
00:46:01 I think he was really impressive during the year.
00:46:04 I mean, going back to that Colorado game, right?
00:46:07 Cause that's the one probably most people watch.
00:46:08 Like he wrecked havoc and you, and then he got kicked out.
00:46:11 Right.
00:46:12 You talk about that nastiness that he can provide.
00:46:14 So, and he had a really good week at the, the shrine bowl too.
00:46:17 So out of those three, I'd probably lean Camara.
00:46:20 All right, so let's go Camara here.
00:46:23 Agree.
00:46:24 Yep.
00:46:25 And you just kind of talked about it.
00:46:27 I mean, highly productive player.
00:46:33 Highly highly productive player.
00:46:36 I think he's like third in the nation in pressures this year behind late to law too.
00:46:41 And I forget who the other guy is.
00:46:42 He's a top 100 pick.
00:46:45 Incredible motor.
00:46:46 Now that goes both ways.
00:46:48 Sometimes it's definitely beneficial and he's around the ball in plays.
00:46:51 You wouldn't expect, especially when the plays away from him, a weak side defensive end.
00:46:55 You wouldn't expect him to be in the play and he's there, but he also does overrun things
00:46:58 at times, but just his skillset, his motor, his physical strength.
00:47:03 He's also on the smaller side.
00:47:04 He's six one, two 50.
00:47:07 If he was six, four and playing at a power five school, he'd be a top 20 pick.
00:47:10 Now he's not, he's not, he can't teach height, but he's a guy I look at like if they're going
00:47:15 to move on from Josh, you J maybe you signed a veteran, a hedge or bets, but could he step
00:47:21 into that Josh Uche role maybe by like Halloween?
00:47:25 I don't think that would be, that would be much for stretch.
00:47:28 Yeah.
00:47:29 So I think you, they need an edge rush.
00:47:30 You get an edge rusher there.
00:47:32 Now do we, well, your guy, Taylor Demerson's at the top of the board here, Brian.
00:47:38 So he's an option.
00:47:39 Do we go back to back defense?
00:47:40 Do we go back to the tackle?
00:47:41 Do we go back to the tight end?
00:47:43 I'd still really like a second tackle just with the uncertainty at that whole position
00:47:49 and like Christian Jones and did Javon Foster.
00:47:52 Oh no, there was only one.
00:47:53 No, we've got Christian Jones, Javon Foster.
00:47:56 I like, and there's other guys here too.
00:47:57 I apologize for all those Adams, uh, Walter Roost, uh, Jones and Foster kind of two guys,
00:48:08 two other senior bowl guys really like Javon Foster.
00:48:11 I thought I had a really awesome week, a really good and one-on-ones just, you know, really
00:48:16 good hands or when he got, you know, when he got his hands on you, the rep was basically
00:48:20 over and then Christian Jones and, uh, with Foster, he was a left tackle Christian Jones,
00:48:26 left and right versatility at Texas, like more of that bigger kind of tackle that might
00:48:31 fit more of like their kind of downhill stuff.
00:48:34 So I like either of those guys.
00:48:36 And I think that would be a good double up either of them, either of them with a Sumitomo
00:48:41 there and our second, our second tackle.
00:48:43 So I personally like, I like Jones if we want to find a third tackle, if we want to find
00:48:49 like a solid, like maybe spot start here and there, but like, he's going to be a solid
00:48:53 backup tackle Foster.
00:48:54 I think the floor is a little lower, but the ceiling is much higher.
00:48:56 I think he has potential starter potential with Jones.
00:48:58 The penalties are an issue.
00:49:00 Um, I could go either way.
00:49:01 Are we throwing this one to the final say?
00:49:04 Sure.
00:49:05 Let's go to the chat on this one.
00:49:06 All right.
00:49:07 Whoever gets five responses first, Christian Jones, Javon Foster starting now.
00:49:14 Christian Jones from Texas, Javon Foster from Missouri.
00:49:16 Yeah.
00:49:17 Now we wait.
00:49:18 All right.
00:49:19 We got one for Foster Foster.
00:49:20 This might be a no brainer.
00:49:24 Foster Foster Foster.
00:49:25 Wow.
00:49:26 All right.
00:49:27 So, okay.
00:49:28 Nobody wanted Chris.
00:49:29 I don't even see it.
00:49:30 There's no Jones at all.
00:49:32 No, that was final.
00:49:34 Say fist to the table.
00:49:36 Javon Foster.
00:49:37 Damn it.
00:49:38 All right, Brian, tell us about Foster.
00:49:40 We shouldn't have even had to ask.
00:49:41 Oh, there's one.
00:49:42 There's one.
00:49:43 There's one for Christian Jones.
00:49:44 All right.
00:49:45 So it was like, I think 13 to one.
00:49:47 What pick was that?
00:49:48 One 17, one 17.
00:49:49 Yeah.
00:49:50 Javon Foster.
00:49:51 You type it in.
00:49:52 So Javon Foster.
00:49:53 Let me get a size here.
00:49:55 Six, five, three 19.
00:49:57 Like Brian mentioned, three year starter at left tackle from, I think it was a four year
00:50:00 starter left out for Missouri team.
00:50:02 Captain really made big strides this year.
00:50:08 And again, we're just following my mock draft.
00:50:10 Cause it said, if I just wrote about this guy actually hang on, I want to pause that.
00:50:15 Okay.
00:50:16 Oh, Christian Jones went two picks later.
00:50:21 I really good size moves.
00:50:25 Well, it's going to be about the technique in marrying the hands to the feet.
00:50:30 I think that's probably the biggest hole in his game right now is he gets caught off balance
00:50:36 too often.
00:50:37 If you can clean that up, I do think, I think at the very least, if you clean it up on a
00:50:43 basic level, right on a basic level, I think he can be a starting right tackle in the NFL
00:50:49 left tackle, you're probably going to need to go a step beyond that.
00:50:53 But yeah, big guy, long arms, mean streak experienced.
00:50:59 It's it's just going to be, he's got to put some weight on.
00:51:02 He's got to put some muscle on and just shoring up that technique a little bit.
00:51:05 Yeah.
00:51:06 I mean, he's got what, like 34 and a half, 35 inch arms, but we'll get the exact one
00:51:11 again next week.
00:51:12 But just like the size of the senior ball, I have it here is 35 inch, 35 inch.
00:51:17 So some, he's got some big arms on them.
00:51:19 So exactly what you want out there.
00:51:20 So you mentioned like high ceiling.
00:51:23 So maybe if in a perfect world, you walk out of this and you have Javon Foster as your
00:51:28 left tackle and Sumito as your franchise right tackle, and you can walk off into the sunset
00:51:33 with Jaden Daniels, get well protected.
00:51:35 But I think those are two guys, two good guys to add to the line, kind of no matter what
00:51:40 happens and free agency with Michael window over the next, over the next month or so.
00:51:44 Okay.
00:51:45 So here's what I think we do here.
00:51:47 We talked about, there's some tight ends.
00:51:49 We like in the safeties we liked her gone.
00:51:51 Demerson went and, and tacky Smith went, um, none of the tight ends have gone.
00:51:56 We have her at one 28.
00:51:57 So we were about like 25, 28, 38, 48.
00:52:01 Yeah.
00:52:02 We've like 25 ish picks until we go again.
00:52:05 If they start running on the tight ends, I think we move back up.
00:52:09 Yeah.
00:52:10 But we'll see.
00:52:11 Maybe, maybe we get lucky and somebody falls.
00:52:13 Uh, we're good for now.
00:52:16 Still good heading into the fifth round.
00:52:18 There goes your boy, Braylon Allen.
00:52:20 That's that's low for him.
00:52:21 All right.
00:52:22 So there goes Senate, but we are now we're less than 10 picks away.
00:52:25 So I think we're in okay shape.
00:52:27 Oh, I love that so much.
00:52:32 I have no idea if that would work, but I love that so much.
00:52:35 Uh, Shaw Wade Smith, by the way, guy played super well at the senior bowl.
00:52:39 Um, it's curious.
00:52:41 Washington.
00:52:42 Awesome.
00:52:43 Shrine bowl guy too.
00:52:44 Uh, Jordan.
00:52:45 That's really high for Jordan Travis and having him with him and Kyler makes sense together,
00:52:49 but that's really high.
00:52:50 Um, yeah, the running backs are just all going super late.
00:52:55 So something to keep in mind.
00:52:57 Maybe that's reality.
00:52:58 Maybe it's not, maybe it's just this SIM and we are all right.
00:53:01 So Ben Senate would have been nice.
00:53:05 I like Holker.
00:53:07 I think he's kind of a unicorn.
00:53:10 I think now, you know, taking two Colorado state players is a choice.
00:53:15 Um, we have two USD players too.
00:53:18 Yeah.
00:53:19 I like Holker.
00:53:20 I think he's unique.
00:53:21 I think Oh, Johnson didn't wow me.
00:53:23 I think he's like a textbook T two.
00:53:26 We're like, he's just kind of big and he's there, but I, what's his carrying trait other
00:53:30 than his size?
00:53:31 Jeheme Bell's like, we just want athleticism.
00:53:35 If we're trying to do the Browns offense and we're trying, which one of these guys is the
00:53:39 closest to, um, uh, why am I blanking on his name?
00:53:44 Uh, no joke.
00:53:45 David Joku.
00:53:46 It's probably Jeheme Bell.
00:53:49 Now he's a little bit smaller.
00:53:51 What is he's like six, six, three, two 40, but he's the best athlete I think of this
00:53:56 group.
00:53:57 So that's how I break it down.
00:53:58 I know you like Johnson.
00:53:59 Um, your, your, your thoughts on that.
00:54:03 I like Holker too.
00:54:04 Like I think really reliable hands, kind of sneaky after the catch, not just cause he's
00:54:11 white, but like a actual, you know, pretty good athlete for, you know, some decent size
00:54:16 on them too.
00:54:17 And you know, he can, like, he's not afraid to get his nose dirty and block as well where,
00:54:21 you know, maybe a Jeheme Bell is more of that athlete where he's not wanting to block as
00:54:26 much.
00:54:27 So, uh, I was impressed watching Holker and I think that would be kind of a good pick
00:54:32 there.
00:54:33 I think we're in the, what are we fifth round right now?
00:54:34 So I think, yeah, and this is, we're, we're honestly kind of outside of the respecting
00:54:38 the board range for Jeheme Bell anyway.
00:54:40 So, um, I'm good with Dalen Holker.
00:54:42 I think he's a fun pick here.
00:54:46 I, I think Jeheme Bell and Theo Johnson, like you see where they fit in the NFL Holker to
00:54:52 me could be out of the league in three or four years, but I think his, his ceiling's
00:54:57 probably on par with Bell, maybe a little lower.
00:55:00 It's definitely higher.
00:55:01 But I think Theo Johnson, we're sitting here in a fifth round.
00:55:04 You got to take some big swings.
00:55:06 And I think whole, you know, look at all the, the best tight ends of the league.
00:55:09 They're all like third, fourth, fifth round picks because sometimes teams will just find
00:55:12 guys that are just freaks.
00:55:13 Cause that position being a freak, it's like being an edge rusher or safety or sorry, uh,
00:55:19 an edge rusher or a safety, like sometimes being a freak, it just translates.
00:55:24 So I mean, you're, you're tweeting this out, Brian, not me.
00:55:28 You're going to get ripped for the two Colorado state guys.
00:55:30 I mean, I think we got two good players.
00:55:33 What'd you say?
00:55:34 I'm tagging you.
00:55:35 So you're going to get the mentions.
00:55:36 Do you at least, do you at least have the blue check?
00:55:38 So you get the replies, you'll get paid for them.
00:55:40 Uh, Oh no, I do not.
00:55:43 Maybe I'll tweet it then.
00:55:45 Um, all right, let's, let's take Dylan Holker though here at one 52.
00:55:48 You want to pause and we can look at the board.
00:55:51 We'll reset the board and maybe if we want to make another trade or something.
00:55:55 Oh, James, I wanted James Williams.
00:55:56 I was hoping he'd fall a little bit.
00:55:58 That would have been a fun one.
00:56:00 Maybe for Miami, just with the, uh, Alonzo high Smith connection.
00:56:04 All right.
00:56:05 So let's go over.
00:56:06 This is what we're working with through five rounds.
00:56:09 Now here we got our quarterback in the first round with Jaden Daniels after Caleb Williams
00:56:14 and Drake may went one, two, a second round.
00:56:18 We moved down a bit, picked up, uh, basically another top 100 pick right outside there with
00:56:23 one Oh one.
00:56:24 And then we still got a tackle with Kingsley Sumitomo.
00:56:27 There are a couple, you know, intriguing ones on the board, but we went with Kingsley there.
00:56:31 Uh, round three, we again, picked up an extra pick.
00:56:34 We went to USC skilled position players, Brendan Rice, Marshawn Lloyd, uh, round four, we traded
00:56:40 down again, but we also moved up and that ended with our first defensive player and
00:56:45 Mo Camara.
00:56:46 Then we doubled up with offensive tackle, Javon Foster from Missouri.
00:56:50 And then as you just saw in round two and round five, picked up our tight end and Dalen
00:56:55 Holker.
00:56:56 How are you feeling through kind of round five here?
00:56:58 I feel pretty good.
00:57:00 Look, Van Pelt has talked a lot about in, in terms of us.
00:57:04 So there's two ways to feel about it, right?
00:57:05 In terms of the draft they're having and are we doing things that I think mirror what the
00:57:10 Patriots would do.
00:57:12 Van Pelt has talked a lot about versatility and athleticism.
00:57:16 And I think we've added guys that you can do a lot of things with on offense.
00:57:22 We've put a premium on athleticism, things like that.
00:57:25 I think there's, these are all guys that really, I don't think we've taken anybody that wouldn't
00:57:31 be on their board.
00:57:32 The only one I wonder about is rice just because like if they sign Michael Pittman in two weeks,
00:57:40 they're not going to take Brendan rice.
00:57:42 So that's the only one I wonder, but everybody else here to me is like a realistic, very
00:57:46 realistic Patriots pick.
00:57:47 How would I feel if this was the draft?
00:57:49 I mean, they got the quarterback, I'm over the moon.
00:57:52 I'm not as big of a, a Sumitia guy as some people like when we send it to the chat there,
00:57:56 like I would have gone Patrick Paul.
00:58:00 And then again with, uh, I think there was one other pick where, where I think I was
00:58:05 the other way, but like there, there, there, these are all guys.
00:58:09 Were you Christian Jones over Foster?
00:58:11 No, I'm Foster.
00:58:12 Maybe I'm, maybe I'm misremembering.
00:58:14 These are all guys outside of maybe Foster who we didn't draft with the idea he's playing
00:58:19 year one.
00:58:21 These are all guys who are going to make some sort of impact to your one.
00:58:23 They may not all be every down players.
00:58:25 Like Mo Kamara is going to be rotational.
00:58:27 He's probably gonna have like a 40% usage rate.
00:58:29 Holkers your second tight end.
00:58:31 You're either bringing Hunter Henry back or, or signing, um, Harrison Bryant or signing,
00:58:37 you know, Noah fan and Holkers second, but he's your second tight end.
00:58:40 Like he's going to play, he's not going to ride the bench.
00:58:44 That's what I, that's what I look for in a draft in the situation.
00:58:46 The Patriots are at, I don't want long-term projects.
00:58:49 That doesn't mean you can't take project players, but I don't want a guy who's so raw.
00:58:53 He can't play year one.
00:58:54 And I think all of these guys have a certain floor that will allow them to have some sort
00:58:58 of role in year one.
00:59:00 And that to me would be the best part of this draft.
00:59:02 Yup.
00:59:03 All right.
00:59:04 So let's head back over.
00:59:07 So we're at, what are we at?
00:59:09 One 54.
00:59:11 Yeah.
00:59:12 If you want to, we have two picks left.
00:59:15 We're just about in range where I think, Oh, the Rams picks went, but I think like Minnesota
00:59:21 has two picks coming up.
00:59:22 If you want to try trading, you think this is the area where they would trade Mack Jones?
00:59:28 If that's the, I mean, they just picked Jade and Daniel.
00:59:30 So well, there was a report today for Mike Reese that he sells believers in the building.
00:59:35 Um, Minnesota one 57 would make sense.
00:59:38 I think they have another one coming out there.
00:59:42 Again, 66, honestly, the saints.
00:59:45 Yeah.
00:59:46 I one six, seven, one 69 can make sense.
00:59:49 Cause they just, uh, would they hire a Kubiak?
00:59:52 He's a Shannon type of guy.
00:59:54 And then, yeah, the Rams had, so the Rams have one here and then they have another one
00:59:58 down here at one 77.
01:00:00 Um, I mean, I, let's do this.
01:00:05 Did any of them take quarterbacks at the top?
01:00:08 Is there somebody who missed maybe on a quarterback?
01:00:10 So the Vikings didn't take a quarterback.
01:00:13 Saints didn't take a quarterback.
01:00:14 Um, yeah, where'd the quarterbacks go?
01:00:18 So JJ McCarthy went to the giants, Michael Pennix.
01:00:21 Yeah.
01:00:22 Michael.
01:00:23 Okay.
01:00:24 So the Rams took Michael Pennix.
01:00:25 So they're probably out.
01:00:26 Um, who are the other teams we're looking at the Vikings and the saints, saints.
01:00:29 All right.
01:00:30 So the, the saints were Vikings.
01:00:31 Haven't taken a quarterback yet.
01:00:33 Um, uh, uh, here's the Rams again.
01:00:38 Do the saints and Vikings just have no draft picks or my scrolling bass?
01:00:41 The saints never have draft picks.
01:00:43 That's a very good point.
01:00:45 Uh, Vikings took a corner right there.
01:00:51 The saints have no freaking graphics.
01:00:53 Dude.
01:00:54 Vikings took an edge rusher.
01:00:56 Um, but they also could have resigned.
01:00:58 Well, even if they resigned Kirk cousins, Vikings took a line.
01:01:01 The saints just don't have picks.
01:01:03 They just took a defensive lineman, I guess.
01:01:06 Um, this, the saints need to draft somebody cause they just need a four bodies.
01:01:11 So where's that other Vikings pick?
01:01:13 I think right here at one 66 makes the most sense.
01:01:16 Yeah.
01:01:17 We could try that.
01:01:18 All right.
01:01:19 If I can pause it on time, 66 months.
01:01:23 Oh, I forgot.
01:01:25 I can do it ahead of time.
01:01:26 One 66 for Mac Jones.
01:01:30 I don't have a future seventh.
01:01:33 Oh, saints have a future seventh.
01:01:41 What is this?
01:01:42 One 69.
01:01:43 I'll take care of it.
01:01:44 I don't.
01:01:45 Apparently this will do it.
01:01:48 Two six for Mac Jones.
01:01:50 Why not?
01:01:54 This is why the saints never have draft.
01:01:57 Okay.
01:01:58 All right.
01:02:00 What number do we get this year?
01:02:02 One 74, one 74.
01:02:05 Yeah.
01:02:06 Okay.
01:02:07 So do we want to do the RG three Kirk cousins thing and get a second quarterback?
01:02:15 Yeah, we, I mean we can wait on that, but like I would actually have a guy in mind here
01:02:20 and we should, I was typing.
01:02:23 I'm not, are there any quarterbacks available?
01:02:26 Yeah, hang on.
01:02:28 There's one guy I like here, but I think he went back to school so he shouldn't be in
01:02:33 the simulator.
01:02:34 Keaton slow.
01:02:35 This now Keaton slow.
01:02:38 Still having eligibility.
01:02:41 Um, did Jason Bean declare for the draft?
01:02:44 Oh yeah, he was at the shrine bowl.
01:02:48 I don't know why he's not on my consensus board.
01:02:50 That's really weird.
01:02:51 Uh, is he in the simulator?
01:02:54 He is in the simulator.
01:02:55 So usually there's guys on the consensus board that aren't in the simulator.
01:02:59 Yeah.
01:03:00 Um, I mean he, we can wait on him.
01:03:02 I don't think when you take him in the top 200 maybe we do, I don't know, but like he
01:03:07 pairs, he makes sense.
01:03:08 He similar kind of offense.
01:03:10 Uh, but what, so we haven't taken the defensive back.
01:03:12 I think taking a defensive back would make sense.
01:03:15 I think taking a defensive tackle would make sense.
01:03:19 Is there anybody here that's interesting?
01:03:21 MJ Devonshire from pits.
01:03:23 Kind of an interesting player.
01:03:24 I really don't love that.
01:03:25 There's a bunch of defensive backs that aren't in the system, unfortunately that are fun
01:03:28 players.
01:03:29 Um, yeah, I don't love anybody there.
01:03:34 Maybe there's another edge guy who we can play more as like a hand down.
01:03:39 Not really.
01:03:40 Tarja on Jeff coats, a great name though.
01:03:43 Miles Cole at a decent, decent senior bowl.
01:03:46 Um, do we want to double up at receiver Luke McCaffrey still here?
01:03:51 Uh, Jordan Whittington, who I like is still here.
01:03:54 Um, Bryson Nesbitt is one, not a receiver.
01:03:57 He's a tight end.
01:03:58 Isn't he going back to school or is that, is there a brother?
01:04:05 Oh maybe, no, it's not.
01:04:06 He went back to school.
01:04:07 Okay.
01:04:08 So yeah, Bryce, can we do it?
01:04:09 We'll Larry Bird, it will draft Bryson Nesbitt's rights for next year.
01:04:13 Top 10 pick.
01:04:15 Yeah.
01:04:16 Um, anything else stand out to you as possibilities here?
01:04:20 I don't know, like the, I'd be open to adding like a defensive back, but none of them really
01:04:26 jumped out.
01:04:27 Uh, I don't know, Luke McCaffrey double up as a receiver.
01:04:32 Like you have your, your big body and Brendan rice.
01:04:36 Would you be interested in getting another one of those, you know, type of move guys
01:04:41 and bank on kind of that potential with McCaffrey?
01:04:45 You don't think that there's some overlap between rice and McCaffrey?
01:04:48 I mean, McCaffrey isn't really like an outside guy like rice, right?
01:04:56 How tall is he?
01:04:57 He's a bigger guy.
01:04:58 I feel like he's six to six to one 95.
01:05:03 I didn't think he was that big.
01:05:04 Maybe I'm just, yeah, he's a bigger guy.
01:05:05 It's kind of smaller like Christian, but, um, I keep going.
01:05:09 I want to take a defensive back here.
01:05:11 It makes a ton of sense.
01:05:12 Is there anybody here?
01:05:13 All right.
01:05:16 MJ Devonshire is Johnny Dixon.
01:05:18 The good.
01:05:19 I mean, that's the fifth round.
01:05:21 Is he the, there were two Penn state corners, weren't there?
01:05:26 Not are you?
01:05:28 Uh, is that the other one?
01:05:30 Kaylin King's a top 100 pick.
01:05:33 Yeah.
01:05:34 Johnny Dixon were a little past respecting the board for at this point.
01:05:36 Dequan Hardy's the guy you're thinking of.
01:05:40 Okay.
01:05:41 I'm going to go with Dequan Hardy.
01:05:47 Any, uh, any thoughts?
01:05:49 I don't know.
01:05:50 This is maybe we should have just kept Mac.
01:05:53 Jalen.
01:05:54 I don't know why Jalen green's name sounds familiar.
01:06:00 Like when I know I looked him up and now I'm trying to remember why I feel like he was
01:06:07 in the draft last year.
01:06:08 I think that's just PFF being weird.
01:06:11 Um, yeah, none of these guys really stand out.
01:06:14 Do we want to double up a tight end?
01:06:15 I mean, we're past the point which he can bell at this point, but Jared Wiley would
01:06:19 make some sense.
01:06:21 Brevin span forward would make some sense here.
01:06:24 Eric all went back to school.
01:06:26 PFF.
01:06:27 Do we want an interior?
01:06:29 Actually do you want an interior line?
01:06:32 Interior.
01:06:33 I really like, um, Ed will con from Florida.
01:06:39 I thought he had a really good senior role.
01:06:41 Yeah, he was pretty centered.
01:06:42 Can play guard, gives you some depth on the interior.
01:06:47 We didn't look at linebackers.
01:06:50 We got there for linebackers.
01:06:52 I do like Jalen Ford, especially if they don't get, okay, wait, there's some good linebackers.
01:06:59 We may, we might take a linebacker if they don't get Mack Wilson back.
01:07:03 Jalen Ford per Jax is a similar kind of player.
01:07:07 I also like, uh, you will have a CEO from Washington.
01:07:10 He's more downhill.
01:07:11 It would be more Juwan Bentley insurance.
01:07:14 He can play some, he can play in the kicking game.
01:07:18 Um, those are a couple of good linebackers though.
01:07:21 Those would be, it would make sense to take those guys here and you know what?
01:07:25 We want to take a defensive back.
01:07:27 Ford's going to kind of be, I feel like this is probably late for respecting the board
01:07:31 for Ford.
01:07:32 Not entirely though, like you might be able to spin it that he's like a safety if they
01:07:37 don't get Kyle Duggar back.
01:07:39 Right.
01:07:40 He could do some of the things Kyle Duggar does.
01:07:42 Okay.
01:07:43 I mean, I'm not too familiar with them, but you're, you're, you're pitching a good case
01:07:49 here.
01:07:50 So I don't see anyone else like really jumping out.
01:07:53 Um, I like the UNC linebacker, but he's not there.
01:07:57 So yeah, unless, unless he's there as an edge guy.
01:08:00 No, he's not.
01:08:03 No, I'd be down for four to if that's how you want to go.
01:08:08 Usually there's like a six round defensive tackle that I wrote.
01:08:11 Gabe, Gabe Hall had a good role.
01:08:14 Yeah.
01:08:15 You probably wait on him though.
01:08:17 All right.
01:08:20 We're going to go a little, it's a little late.
01:08:22 Let me, let me look at where Jalen Ford's going.
01:08:24 I want to make sure we're respecting the board with Jalen Ford here.
01:08:27 Because on the, on the consensus, big board, he's one 45.
01:08:29 Yeah.
01:08:30 People are taking like the sixth, seventh round.
01:08:32 I think that's fine.
01:08:33 We're in the fit.
01:08:34 Oh, we're in the fifth.
01:08:35 Yeah.
01:08:36 We can take Jalen Ford here.
01:08:37 All right.
01:08:38 We'll take Jalen Ford or we could trade down and add more picks.
01:08:42 Let's just take Ford.
01:08:43 All right.
01:08:44 We'll take Jalen Ford here.
01:08:47 And then we wanted to add a quarterback, right?
01:08:52 And then what was, there was one other thing we wanted to add.
01:08:53 Was it a corner or an interior lineman?
01:08:58 I like the idea of adding an interior lineman.
01:09:00 Yep.
01:09:01 I don't, you're the Wisconsin guy.
01:09:03 I mean, board, just borderline, he do it for you.
01:09:08 I like him or, I mean, I was impressed with the Florida guy too, during the senior, the
01:09:12 senior bowl, I would take him here.
01:09:17 What pick are we at?
01:09:18 One 82, one 82.
01:09:19 Although we're still not getting that, that secondary play, but it's just, there's like
01:09:25 nobody in the secondary.
01:09:27 That's exciting.
01:09:28 I don't mind a key tunnel.
01:09:30 Old Dapo.
01:09:31 I haven't done a ton of work on him.
01:09:34 Kind of like that, that would be a move.
01:09:37 If you don't resign Kyle Duggar, he's one of those like kind of box safeties, a pretty
01:09:43 good athlete, pretty good range.
01:09:45 Like that, that would be kind of the Kyle Duggar.
01:09:47 That would be like the day three Kyle Duggar replaced.
01:09:50 So I wouldn't, but he'll, he'll probably be there.
01:09:53 What are we at?
01:09:54 Two 29 and one.
01:09:55 Two 29.
01:09:56 I still want to take Jason Bean though.
01:09:58 I think closing out the draft, Jason Bean makes sense.
01:10:03 Trade down and add.
01:10:06 We could try.
01:10:07 It really falls off at corner, man.
01:10:09 It really does.
01:10:10 And that's something good to know.
01:10:11 Let's see.
01:10:12 Can we trade down?
01:10:13 Where are we at?
01:10:14 One 82.
01:10:15 Move down to like who, who do they have?
01:10:17 Connections within that, in that front office there where the Packers actually all the way
01:10:23 to a three, that's a little too far.
01:10:25 Who else they have connections with in that front office?
01:10:33 You know what?
01:10:34 Cause it's the anti belt.
01:10:35 It's the post Belichick era.
01:10:36 They're doing everything the opposite of Belichick.
01:10:37 We're going to trade with the Colts.
01:10:38 Yeah.
01:10:39 So we'll move down three spots.
01:10:40 Sorry.
01:10:41 Move down.
01:10:42 What was that man?
01:10:43 What was the number of spots?
01:10:44 One 82 to one 93 and two 32.
01:10:48 Yeah.
01:10:49 All right.
01:10:50 So we're going to move down.
01:10:51 Didn't love anybody on the board.
01:10:53 We'll see who goes here.
01:10:56 Colts accepted it.
01:10:57 Oh, and they took a McCaffrey.
01:10:59 Okay.
01:11:00 So there you go.
01:11:01 All right.
01:11:02 A little bit of run on linemen there.
01:11:04 So now I think we grab, we grab the interior guy.
01:11:07 I'm good with that.
01:11:08 You want the flip from Florida?
01:11:10 Yeah.
01:11:11 The Yukon.
01:11:12 I keep butchering.
01:11:13 Is this the sixth round?
01:11:14 Yeah.
01:11:15 Yeah.
01:11:16 All right.
01:11:17 So now we're going to the seventh.
01:11:18 Now we see who goes.
01:11:25 We appreciate everybody hanging with us the whole way.
01:11:27 We're actually gaining people as we get into late, later rounds here.
01:11:30 I'm just putting Kingsley E because I'm not.
01:11:33 Yeah, that's fine.
01:11:35 All right.
01:11:36 This is where I think we take the quarterback and we take Jason Bean.
01:11:38 I just think he's going to run a similar offense to the one that Jane Daniels runs a big arm,
01:11:42 pushes the ball down the field.
01:11:45 Mobile can run around a little bit.
01:11:48 Trying to find his like rushing stats here, but I can't.
01:11:53 But yeah, I just, I like him.
01:11:55 He's experienced.
01:11:56 Yeah.
01:11:57 I think Jason beans, the pick here.
01:11:59 Yeah.
01:12:00 Yeah.
01:12:01 Push back on that.
01:12:02 No, that's good.
01:12:03 And then here's where I think we grab our defensive back.
01:12:04 Somebody who can play on special teams.
01:12:06 All DAPOs there.
01:12:08 I'd take him.
01:12:09 I think that's a good pick.
01:12:10 So he's a, I was just looking at my, my senior bowl notes.
01:12:13 Remember it was Wednesday practice.
01:12:15 So I don't think, isn't he supposed to be like a one top one 50 pick?
01:12:19 I don't think so.
01:12:21 I think he's supposed to go a little higher than this.
01:12:23 Remember it was the Wednesday trim senior bowl.
01:12:26 So they ended one of the teams ended with like the one-on-ones.
01:12:31 He was, he went against the Minnesota tight end and he like knocked away the ball and
01:12:35 coverage.
01:12:36 And that's one of his things.
01:12:37 He's a little more box safety, like Kyle Duggar, but he's supposed to be a little bit better
01:12:41 in coverage against tight end.
01:12:43 I'm looking at it.
01:12:44 Most of the mocks have him going in the seventh round.
01:12:46 He's skewed by one guy that took him in the second.
01:12:48 So we'll, we'll, if I get yelled at for not respecting the board, that was Mr. Alladoppo.
01:12:53 We took him.
01:12:54 Right, exactly.
01:12:55 All right.
01:12:56 And that's that.
01:12:58 So I'm going to stop sharing this.
01:12:59 Cause if you guys see the PFF grades, you yell about nonsense cause they're all terrible.
01:13:05 And so while I get this set, why don't you pull up the pull up the final board and we'll
01:13:10 take a look at it or here I can just add in Oregon state.
01:13:18 All right.
01:13:21 All right.
01:13:24 So we start off Jaden Daniels again, Caleb Williams went one to Chicago, Drake May goes
01:13:31 to, to the commanders.
01:13:33 So we get our quarterback of the future and Jaden Daniels move on to round two, slight
01:13:39 trade back down the board, pick up basically another top 100 pick at one Oh one.
01:13:44 We liked the tackles plenty.
01:13:46 There are a handful of tackles still at 34.
01:13:48 So we thought that was worthwhile to do so.
01:13:50 And then we still got one of the guys we liked and Kainsley Sumito at 40 onto round three
01:13:57 to USC playmakers.
01:13:59 We get our wide receiver and Brendan rice, assuming the Patriots don't get one of these
01:14:04 big body X receivers and free agency.
01:14:07 So we get rice and then we get a running back Marshawn Lloyd who will make a good compliment
01:14:12 to a Mondra Stevenson in that backfield, more of a speed back moving on to round four.
01:14:19 We trade down and we also move up in the process and we get our first defender edge, Muhammad
01:14:26 Kamara out of Colorado state, just really like kind of violent, nasty pass rusher.
01:14:32 Good, good guy to add in the mix there.
01:14:35 And we double dip offensive tackle.
01:14:37 Javon Foster pretty good, you know, well really good length at the position and a pretty high
01:14:42 ceiling at that tackle spot.
01:14:44 Staying offense again, round five, we get our tight end and Dallin Holker, and then
01:14:50 we move Mack Jones in round six.
01:14:54 That was to Minnesota or that might've been round five.
01:14:56 Actually, I might have the number on there, but move Mac Jones there on day three, pick
01:15:01 up another pick.
01:15:02 And we use that on linebacker Jalen Ford from Texas.
01:15:06 And then we traded yet again and we kind of shored up some depth along the offensive line
01:15:11 with Kingsley.
01:15:12 Still don't know how to say his last name.
01:15:14 Interior line in Florida.
01:15:16 He can play center, he can play the guard spots.
01:15:19 And then we double dip at quarterback with Jason being in a kind of versatile box safety
01:15:23 and Keaton all Adapo to close it off.
01:15:27 So what are your thoughts on the draft?
01:15:29 Yeah, I thought again, we got a lot of guys that are going to be impact players.
01:15:35 Year one or not impact players.
01:15:37 But I think we realized a lot of guys are gonna be factors.
01:15:39 Year one, a couple of impact players.
01:15:41 I like where we doubled up.
01:15:42 I think we hit on a lot of things.
01:15:45 My one question would be like, this is kind of banking on them making a big splash of
01:15:50 wide receiver and free agency.
01:15:51 If they do that, I feel really good about this draft.
01:15:54 If not, I still don't know if you have quite enough, but I mean, I would say this is a
01:16:00 solid draft.
01:16:01 I think that there are opportunities to do better, but they could certainly do a lot
01:16:05 worse.
01:16:06 We came out, I think with a couple of future picks to or at least one future pick.
01:16:08 So I mean, I, yeah, I think this would be a solid draft.
01:16:12 I think this would be like a solid B draft.
01:16:14 Yep.
01:16:15 We definitely missed the run at wide receivers that went fast or, you know, you missed out
01:16:21 on maybe a Roman Wilson or one of the Washington guys.
01:16:25 And then I think we both would have liked to add a corner at some point, maybe early
01:16:30 or late on day three, but that run, we kind of missed that run too.
01:16:34 So maybe those were two spots going forward that we could, we could improve on, but I
01:16:40 think, yeah, I'm with you in that B range.
01:16:42 I think it's solid.
01:16:44 So again, next time we do this, we'll do it, you know, post free agency.
01:16:49 We'll kind of have a better idea of what the roster looks like.
01:16:51 That will certainly help.
01:16:53 But if we want to take a couple of quick comments from the chat on what they thought on what
01:16:57 on what we did.
01:16:59 Somebody said wide receivers to be in the second.
01:17:01 Somebody brought up a Rasheed Ali.
01:17:03 I liked him, but he, he tore his shoulder.
01:17:05 He's probably UDFA at this point.
01:17:06 I mean, we could sign him as a UDFA probably at this point, and that would be good signing.
01:17:12 Anybody else, any other thoughts on the draft?
01:17:14 I think they all devolved into their own mock draft.
01:17:17 Somebody really liked the old Adapo pick.
01:17:18 So there you go.
01:17:20 Someone was really trying to get me to take a kicker.
01:17:23 Yeah, I just heard Jeremy Springer's press conference yesterday and realized that Chad
01:17:29 Ryland is back, but I don't think they're going to draft a kicker again.
01:17:34 That would be surprising.
01:17:35 Yeah.
01:17:36 So somebody said we didn't take Dylan Loughby.
01:17:39 It just, it didn't work with where we were at.
01:17:42 Brownlee went early.
01:17:43 Brownlee went, I think, late day two, early day three.
01:17:47 So he was off the board.
01:17:48 I mean, we talked about him at one point, but we just had more pressing needs.
01:17:50 I think that was when we were in those back-to-back picks with, with 101 and 104, I think we had
01:17:56 talked about taking him there, but Marshall and Lloyd Moe Kamara are going to do more
01:18:00 for you at this point than, than Jason Brownlee is.
01:18:02 You have Christian Gonzalez on one side, you just bring in a veteran one year, 10 million,
01:18:06 maybe it's Steph Gilmore to play on the other side and you're, you're in great shape there.
01:18:10 And then with Jonathan Jones as well.
01:18:12 So I, I, I like Jason Brownlee as a player.
01:18:15 I'm not necessarily upset we didn't get him.
01:18:17 I think we, there's always guys that are good picks, but can you make a better pick?
01:18:21 Right.
01:18:22 Jason Brownlee would have been a good pick where we talked about him, but I think we,
01:18:25 we made better picks.
01:18:27 Yup.
01:18:28 Uh, Brian said, cornerback and tight end are more of a need than this draft shows.
01:18:32 I think we, you know, we just kind of said we would like to add maybe a late round corner
01:18:37 and someone mentioned Cam Hart.
01:18:40 I like Cam Hart in that range, maybe as a late round guy, but tight end, it's like you
01:18:45 either move back in round one for Brock Bowers or, you know, we thought about Jatavian Sanders
01:18:51 at 40 or maybe moving up, but if you miss on those two guys, like you're probably in
01:18:55 that range that we picked Alan Holker with one of those, you know, Ben Sinnett, Theo
01:18:59 Johnson, like that's the next kind of group.
01:19:01 So I don't know.
01:19:03 I think it's either Bowers and Sanders, or you're kind of waiting at that tight end position.
01:19:08 It's just not as deep of a tight end draft where you either have to attack it or you
01:19:13 wait and you see who falls to you.
01:19:15 There's no real kind of in the middle.
01:19:18 I'd agree on corner too.
01:19:19 Again, we got to the point where the board just, we tried the board evaporated real quick
01:19:25 and you don't take a player just to take a player.
01:19:28 And that's one where, you know, again, I, this is, it'll be easy after let's say we
01:19:33 go through the free agency, they signed two great tight ends.
01:19:35 We probably emphasize taking a corner more, whereas yeah, the assignment Jerry is Snead.
01:19:40 We come back and I was going to talk about us not taking a corner.
01:19:43 So yeah, that's, that's kind of where I'm at with that.
01:19:48 But I, I, I, you're not gonna be able to get everybody in heat in this draft just with
01:19:52 the way the roster is at.
01:19:53 But I think we were able to get a good foundation.
01:19:58 Like I think Jane Daniels is a potential foundational piece.
01:20:01 Sue Matias, obviously a potential foundational piece.
01:20:04 I think Mo Kamara can be on defense.
01:20:06 I even think Holker, I mean, he's probably a little further away than some of those other
01:20:10 guys, but could he become a foundational tight end?
01:20:13 Yeah, I think that's possible.
01:20:14 So we got some guys that I think you look at and you say, all right, these are guys
01:20:18 we can build around for at least the next four years and hopefully beyond that.
01:20:22 And that to me is what they need to do in this kind of draft.
01:20:25 Yup.
01:20:26 Yeah.
01:20:27 I mean, going quarterback, offensive tackle, wide receiver, first three, that seems like
01:20:31 kind of the money money picks in some order of those.
01:20:35 So we hit those there.
01:20:38 So any last thoughts you got or we can.
01:20:42 No, we got to get going because the dynasty is going to drop soon.
01:20:45 So I know we have dynasty and Bruins.
01:20:48 It's a packed night.
01:20:49 So so we'll get out of here again.
01:20:53 That was mock draft one point.
01:20:55 One of us will post it on Twitter, probably me.
01:20:57 So if you want to come and yell at us again, even more on there, feel free to do that.
01:21:02 My Twitter is at I am Brian Heinz.
01:21:05 Head over pats pulpit dot com.
01:21:07 I have tons of stuff up there from all the press conferences yesterday.
01:21:12 Alex's Twitter is at real Alex Barth.
01:21:14 He doesn't have it up, but at real Alex Barth head over to ninety five sports of dot com
01:21:19 to read his work.
01:21:21 Thank you all, as always, for tuning in to our first mock draft.
01:21:25 We will be back next week, probably talking about the combine as we get ready for that.
01:21:30 So tune into that and we will see you guys then.
01:21:33 Bye bye.
