00:08 I got the something that makes me wanna shout.

00:11 I had to have a determination to be somebody.

00:13 He showed me what was possible.

00:16 Not that I could do it, but I could dream of it.

00:20 He was this amazing genius. He gave so much to the world.

00:23 I'm a black man. I gotta take part in my cause.

00:25 I gotta take part in my fight for freedom, for equality.

00:28 And take a stand where it's needed.

00:30 His music was incredibly important to our community, to our people.

00:33 Say it loud, I'm black and I'm proud.

00:35 That song was dangerous, aggressive, and political.

00:38 That's one of the bravest things that James Brown has ever done.

00:47 That balance is necessary for you to be great.
