Portsmouth students give verdict on city nightlife after Pryzm and Eden close

They said nightlife in Portsmouth will change in the future following the closures.

00:14 even more dire than it already was. I think it's probably definitely going to get a lot busier in

00:18 Astoria but I think a lot of people might, well I think Astoria is probably the most popular one

00:24 anyway but I think maybe less people might start going out to avoid the busy car. Yeah definitely.

00:38 Personally I despise clubbing and I always have. I've been to Prism once when it was still open.

00:46 I didn't enjoy it at all and from what my friends say at the moment I get the picture that there's

00:55 still a lot going on still. I think they go to Astoria, Tokyo Joe's just as regularly.

01:01 So yeah generally I don't think it's bothered my friends that much and it hasn't bothered me at all.

01:07 I think there's definitely been a shift from clubbing culture into more pubs and things

01:15 like that especially with honest politicians, one night long. But that could just be as I've

01:21 got older I gravitate more towards those places. Never went to Eden at all, just wasn't my scene.

01:48 I believe and I never went to Prism personally and I've been here since last September. I only

01:54 went there for events where Tom Zanetti and Philly went to perform and that's about it.

02:02 I didn't really go there for club nights so it didn't really affect me too much.

02:11 or Sportos was held there as well. Which was a university event. Yeah that was a university event

02:16 so that was about it but I think the story is a lot more popular for nightlife. It would be great

02:22 if there was more options to choose from with in regards to like clubs and also pubs because

02:29 I normally go to pubs or like bars for a night out and I find that there's not many in like the city

02:35 centre of Portsmouth. Like I normally go to South Sea, like Gunworth's quite expensive as well

02:39 because it's quite like a tourist attraction kind of bar type thing so yeah it'd be great if we could

02:46 see more of that in the system in half.
