The Transition From the Stone Age to an Agricultural Society Included Some ‘Violent’ Transitions in Europe

Humanity has had a tumultuous and warring history, and now experts say the change over to an agricultural society in parts of Europe included what was essentially a couple of genocides. Historians long believed that as farming settlers moved into Europe during the late Stone Age it was peaceful migration. However, Lund University’s Anne Birgitte Nielsen a palaeoecologist says it was not a happy time for those already there.
