Interview with Utkarsh Ambudkar And Manny Magnus
Transcript
00:00 Manny, I was also wondering what was harder to memorize for this movie, all the math vocabulary
00:05 you had to pick up or all of the like the songs and the rap lyrics you had to you had to perform?
00:10 I think the dialogue and all that was like pretty easy since I would just like read the lines like
00:18 right before we shot like the scene. So yeah, I guess it kind of worked out. But yeah, I think
00:25 it was a bit harder for the songs. Yeah. Yeah. He's selling himself short. I mean, Manny came in
00:31 not being a rapper, very talented musician, amazing singer and instrumentalist. But the boy had not
00:38 rapped. And we basically put him through a boot camp. And overnight, he turned into this very
00:44 dexterous MC. So it's all kudos to him. He kind of selling himself short right now.
00:50 Yeah, no, it was very impressive. I was like, blown away by how awesome you guys were on screen.
00:54 What was involved in that boot camp that you went through?
00:57 I think it was like, didn't we just have like, two hours or something of like, just me and you on
01:06 zoom? Oh, that's right. Yeah, we had some rehearsals and just being honest with each
01:11 other and being supportive and sort of loving as collaborators and being like, hey, it could be
01:16 better. Like, that was good. Do you think you can do better and both of us sort of holding each
01:23 other accountable and making it better and getting our blend right? It was it was really cool. Manny
01:29 is a very willing participant, you know, he wants to do great. And that's that's what makes him
01:33 special.
